Text in Show: It's a Dog Text Dog World ... (An Accidentally in Love Story Book 4) Kindle Edition

It's a dog text dog world ...

My name is Autumn Jones, and I just completed my master’s degree in Sociology—or as my mom calls it, ‘people watching.’ My dream is to go to Columbia to get my PhD. The only problem is that I’m totally broke, and New York City is bonkers expensive

That’s why it’s a godsend when my older sister, Helen, offers to let me stay in her massive brownstone in Manhattan. Of course, the offer doesn’t come without strings. I have to help her coordinate the world’s most bizarre dog show. Seriously, it’s nuts.

I quickly find myself thrown into the crazy world of totally bored, highly competitive rich women who will do
anything to win the coveted title of Best in Show for their pampered pooches.

The only bright spot might be working with Jack Campbell (seriously, he has to be America’s hottest veterinarian). He would totally be my dream man if it weren’t for one annoying thing: he treats me like gum he scraped off his shoe.
With my haughty sister breathing down my neck, and a high-strung poodle (Celine Dion, if you can believe it) following me everywhere I go, I don’t have time to worry about what bug crawled up Jack’s butt.

Except, let’s be honest, I
am worrying about it because every time we’re together, I’m drawn to him like a tick to a dog’s hindleg. Just as the show is kicking off, I find out Jack’s secret and realize there’s been a horrible mix-up.

Could Jack and I have a future after all, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Sneak Peek...

“Do you know what that good for nothing Dr. Salisbury said about Celine Dion?” I hear my sister yell into the phone while she’s banging around the kitchen making a pot of tea. “He said it’s my fault she humps everyone who comes in the house. Apparently, he’s diagnosed her as being over-trained which has led to her asserting her dominance with strangers.” Slam.

What?! My sister knows Celine Dion? And she’s a humper? I find that hard to believe. Surely, that would have been all over the news if it were true.

Helen’s friend is on speaker, so I hear the response loud and clear. “The fiend! I don’t know how you can stand that man.”

“He’s the best vet in town,” Helen says.

Oh, Celine Dion is a dog…That makes more sense. I need some coffee.

“Not anymore,” her friend says. “Everybody’s already switched over to that yummy Dr. Campbell on Sixty-Eighth Street. He’s the best now. I’m surprised you didn’t know that.”

“I’d heard he was good; I just haven’t had a chance to set up an appointment with him. I’ve been so busy with the dog show and planning that dinner for Stanhope’s partners. A surgeon’s wife’s work is never done.”

“I hear you, Helena. It must be nearly as bad as being married to a senator. It’s just constant,” her friend says (and I use that term lightly because clearly this is one of the most toxic relationships I’ve ever eavesdropped on). “Anyway, back to Dr. Campbell — delicious with a capital D. Tabitha Harper said she almost jumped up on the exam table and demanded he give her a breast exam. Can you imagine?” Insert maniacal laughter here. “You just have to get into see him before everyone else finds out about him and he stops taking new patients.”

I know I agreed to help my sister plan her ridiculous dog show in exchange for a place to say, but hand to God, I think I'm going to regret it...

Really fun story. A strange group of socialites in NYC seem to grow up during a dog show. Some laugh out loud moments. Some cringe moments.
    And a happy ever after.

I have loved this series from the start. It’s fun, flirty, with a little drama. I did give this book 1 less star than the others of the series as the story seemed a little slower than the others but eventually reached the fun conclusion. I do recommend the series as a great escape.

This book is such a fun entertaining read. Full of hilarious moments and banters. The characters are quirky and hilarious and very interesting! As you read on, the characters get even more quirky, cheeky and entertaining. The misunderstandings caused a strain between Autumn and Jackbut that made the story more swoony and fun to read as they try to turn off the fireworks that's always present when they are in the same room together. The effort is hilarious.

Slowly everything started being revealed and Jack and Autumn gained a better understanding of each other and started developing a better "working" relationship as they fall more and more in love with each other.

There are a lot of surprising intriguing secrets revealed all throughout the book mostly in regards to Autumns sisters "real" life. As her sister opens up more to her they become more like sister than strangers. I think this book provides a little life lesson about choices and relationships….and about the importance of self care. This book is an amazing read from beginning til the end. Loved this stiry so much that I may read it again! A definite must read.

    Cute. Funny. Unique. Clean. Perfect.

Best RomCom I've read this year, so far. If you're looking for a unique read, that will keep you turning pages, then read this book!

The male protagonist is a perfect beta hero.

Love the juxtaposition of country and city mice. Shades of Author Whitney Dineen's award-winning Relatively Normal RomCom book, too.

Both authors are outstanding in the RomCom genre. Their collaboration hits all the right notes in this novel.

If you're a fan of A.G. Henley's amazing pet vet RomCom series (especially The Predicament of Persians, which was this book blog's 2020 Book of the Year), you'll like this book.

Light-hearted, fun RomCom. A fast, quick read. Enjoy!

    5 Solid Stars.

Perfect for fans of Diane Michaels, Kirsty McManus, and Kate O'Keeffe.

I did enjoy this book, but it did not live up to the previous three in the series. While Autumn and Jack were a great couple, their relation ship was lacking comparatively. I did enjoy Autumn and Helen building their relationship as sisters and Helen learning to stand on her own though.

I really enjoyed this book in the series. It's completely stand alone so you don't have to have read the other texting books. I enjoyed that it was funny without being embarrassing. I actually did laugh out loud and my daughter said I was reading with a "goofy smile on". Nice read with a little meat to it and some awesome secondary characters. I just realized there were no sex scenes but you really don't miss them.Well done ladies!

I've read the other three books in this series and this is the best one so far. There were many laugh out loud moments, fun quotes, and the misunderstanding between the two soon to be couple wasn't too far fetched. The parents were my favorite characters TBH! If you've read the first three and wondered if you should bother with this one I highly recommend this one. If you've trying to decide which one in the series to start with pick this one! All the books are stand-alone anyway. This was a pleasure to read.

The Accidentally in Love series by Whitney Dineen and Melanie Summers just gets better with every installment. "Text in Show: It's A Dog Text Dog World" is a quirky story of a smart woman and a dedicated veterinarian who both have very specific plans for their lives, but we all know what happens to the best-laid plans. Life gets in the way, and Autumn and Jack are no exception to the rule. Specifically, siblings, dogs, and snooty socialites come together to wreak hilarious havoc with both of them. I loved Autumn and Jack so much! They're both quick-witted, good-hearted people--not a single villain to be found in this pair, it's simply a fun story of the twists and turns of two people finding (and keeping) that special someone. This is pure enjoyment to read from the first page to the last.

Some texting stories use texts to tell the story, some use them to move the story forward, and some use them as interludes. This one tends toward the latter. I like the characters and the situations that they find themselves in. While the story gets a little formulaic at times it still feels fresh and was very enjoyable to read.

If you need a book to cheer you up from the gloom and doom on the news, this is the perfect book. So many books are advertised as “hilarious” but to me they are only mildly amusing, whereas this book had me literally crying with laughter. The main characters are so lovable and endearing you wish you could meet them.
