Heather Hillenbrand, LAMFT is dedicated to providing sex educational or therapeutic support to parents, adolescents, couples, and individuals.

As a Sex and Relationship Therapist, she holds a Master’s of Advanced Study in Marriage and Family Therapy from Arizona State University and a graduate level Human Sexuality Certificate from the University of Minnesota.

She is also a proud member of The American Association for Sex Educators Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). Heather offers therapy for couples and individuals at the Scottsdale Center for Sex and Relationship Therapy.

She also facilitates sex education workshops and classes. Her company, Soul Fire Productions, hosts the many offerings as well as the creation of books and other sex education tools.

She believes it is each person’s birth rite to have knowledge and freedom of expression regarding sex, sexuality, and relationship.

This book was so good! It’s about how magical girls are and helps build self esteem and self worth. The author also shared how special and magical girls are because they menstruate, but does it in a way that is poetic and opens the door for more conversation. This book would be such a cute idea to give as part of a period package. Wonderful and whimsical illustrations as well!

    This is a gentle picture book introduction to menstruation and female sexuality for girls ages six and up with soft, almost abstract art. I especially appreciated that the author included suggestions for how parents could use the book to open up the dialogue to empower their daughters. The use of a bicycle as a symbol for the menstrual cycle is especially clever, and offers a nonthreatening way to bridge between childhood and adolescence.

    This lovely book is an excellent resource for mothers to create a welcoming intimate space to talk about puberty with their daughters. Beautiful illustrations provide the background to every page and the words complement the images, creating a sense of the dignity and pride a girl can experience when her transformation into being fertile is couched in a positive, respectful, loving way.
