About the author

Jea Hawkins writes sweet and spicy contemporary lesbian romance. She writes paranormal romance and urban fantasy as Lucy True. Her historical/contemporary romance, "As Long As Love Lasts," has been nominated for a GCLS Literary Award.
Regardless of genre, if love conquers all, then she’d like to think her heroines can rule the world one day. An east coast transplant to the Midwest, she loves to write about complicated women and settings that feel like home.
Personal addictions include genealogy, autumn, cozy sweaters, hot chocolate, and the Sims 3. She’s both an avid reader and gamer, and hopes readers don’t mind a few geeky references here and there in her work.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2017I felt that this book did an excellent job of portraying the ruts that partners of long term relationships can get into. This book deals with this issue and the challenge of breaking that cycle so the characters can recapture what drew them together all those years ago. I loved the way Ms Hawkins wrote their journey. This is a beautiful love story.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2018This was a sweet romance which took a different path than most romances. It was a fun trip watching a committed 15 year relationship be tested by two individuals who were still growing and learning who they actually were. It was a nice reminder that things are not always watch we would like them to be, but if you fight for what you really want, when things come around again, they can be better and stronger than the first time around.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2017Jea has done it again! A wonderfully told romance. I was totally drawn into the story on the first page and before I knew it I had finished the book. Dani and Jaz had issues involving trust in each other. I think if Jaz had been more honest about her concerns regarding their relationship a little faster then maybe some of the angst could have been avoided. If Dani had come to realize a little sooner that she was truly her own person and not tried to please her parents so much---again, some of the angst could have been avoided. The one thing to really cement a relationship is through honesty. After the ladies came to the conclusion that love does conquer all, they could both move forward with their life together. No matter how long you have been in a marriage or a relationship----honesty is the answer. I liked the fact that this wasn't some young whippersnapper's love story but rather about more mature adult ladies. It was a nice change of pace. Jea, your books just get better and better. Looking very forward to the next one. Thank you!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2017The first book that I read by Jea Hawkins was Must Love Chickens. That is my favorite, but this one is wonderful, too. Every relationship has its issues, and a book about working on those problems in a long term relationship is as satisfying as a book about a new relationship.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2017This was a wonderfully written book. I could totally understand the relationship between Jaz and Dani. Being married for 10 years does causes the relationship to get comfortable. Reading this story helped me to understand a bit of my marriage to my wife and how we feel after being together for 12 years and how we have gotten comfortable with each other. I realized that we need to communicate and try to get back to how we were in the beginning. This story inspired me to work on our marriage and relationship. Loved it... thanks for writing this story and providing an insight into what our relationships can become after years of being together.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2017A cute romance but little imagination to make the story captivating.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2017Most lesbian romance novels seem to be more about the chase, or finding love, than about life afterward. Having been with my wife for 16+ years, now, I could relate to some of the struggles Jaz and Dani are experiencing.
The story flows well, with a couple of plot twists I didn't anticipate. I think Ms. Hawkins' books just continue to get better.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2017I've read a few books by this author and they are nice stories. They don't dig too deep, but they are sweet and light reads. I appreciated this one in particular because it wasn't a story of girl meets girl and they get together, it was about a relationship that has existed for over 15 years and where they are now.
