'A perfect escape to Italy, with sunshine, devastating secrets, tears, smiles and a hero you will fall in love with.' - Jennifer Bohnet

'A beautiful novel about life choices and moving on, set on the sundrenched island of Capri. Should be read by a pool with a glass of Prosecco in one hand' -
T.A. Williams

'A lovely escapist tale full of heart, friendship and promise' -
Annie Robertson

Best friends since childhood, Fern Chambers and Stella Shaw have been through everything together and are at a crossroads in their lives.
Carefree Stella has a monumental secret and down trodden Fern’s happy life is not all it seems.
With their 40th birthdays approaching, a luxury holiday to the island of Capri is a chance for them to reconnect, let their hair down and celebrate in style. But untold truths and frustration bubble beneath the surface, turning what should be a holiday of a lifetime into an opportunity to make life-changing decisions.
Far from home, where anything feels possible, secrets are revealed, heartache is shared, love discovered and new friendships forged.
Will their Italian dream turn into a nightmare or lead to newfound happiness?

Hello and welcome!

Thank you for taking an interest in my books. I write uplifting and heart-warming romantic escape novels set on beautiful islands within Europe.

Setting is integral to my stories, with each character having a reason to travel to their destination, whether Greece, Italy or elsewhere. I love writing about characters at a crossroads in their life, delving into their past and what makes them tick. Although romance is the driving force, I explore all kinds of relationships, from complex family ones to friendships old and new. My characters are often escaping from someone or something and there’s a sprinkling of new beginnings, second chances and self-discovery along the way.

Of course, there’s plenty of conflict and I don’t shy away from heartbreak or the realistic challenges of life, but there’s always a happy ending – after all, this is escapist, romantic fiction.

I hope you enjoy being whisked away.

Best wishes and happy reading,

Kate x

I enjoyed this book, but I guess when I read this, I couldn't help think to myself that it's ironic that no one seems to get STDs etc. after hooking up with strangers. Being rich doesn't preclude those things. The settings were great, and the story was overall good, but had a few disappointing moments where friendship was cast aside in order to have a meaningless hook up.

Two friends and their kids head to Italy as Stella won the lottery and wanted to shout everyone a holiday abroad. The two girls soon hook up with Italian men and invite their mothers to go sailing on the yacht that belongs to the men. Stella goes to meet them and accepts but her friend Fern decides to go to an art retreat instead. Secrets out in the open, friendships tested and love. Fun food and romance. Thoroughly enjoyable read

I enjoyed the reading Stella and Fern's complex stories. The book's descriptions were a little too wordy for me. I don't need to read about the color of every flower and olive tree. One description of the town is enough.
I found myself skimming to get back to the storyline. Overall I like this author and there is finally a happy ending for Fern
