A Winters Wish come true by Lynsey James a five-star read that will have you wishing upon a star. This is my first read by this author and what a read, it will have you laughing and crying, the story will touch you so much it’s not just about a couple meeting and falling in and out of love and then hooking up again, it’s so much deeper than that. Cleo as a character was someone I adored, she has faced battles and hardships and come out the other side, not stronger yet, but one day. All of the characters have been well plotted and have great stories, they are well rounded and you really care about them. Scott started as someone I was a little mmm about but then, he pulled it together and finally started to be someone I really liked.
What could have been a will they won’t they pregnancy romance, developed into something so much more. This story was amazing and I will definitely be looking out for the next read by this author.

A Winter’s Wish Come True is a story about second chances at love and new beginnings. Not having read other books by the author before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading the book and it didn’t disappoint. At the beginning of the story we get to meet Cleo Jones, a baker who is still struggling to move on from her previous break-up with her boyfriend, Scott. Her friends have been very supportive and there for her, but when she sees Scott again things immediately change. After he was offered a job in Australia, Scott basically left her to pick up the pieces, but Cleo can’t get over him and that leads her back to him. It is after a couple of weeks that she starts to get sick and finds out that she is pregnant that her life has changed forever. Now she has to figure out where she stands with Scott and if decide if she wants him in her life or not.

Scott Robinson has always loved Cleo and it hurt him to leave her behind when he was offered a job in Australia, but he is back now and ready to make things work with her (if she lets him). When he finds out that she is pregnant, Scott is ready to make things work with Cleo, but their past keeps getting in the way and now he has to convince her that they’re perfect for each other before it’s too late. I throughly enjoyed reading this story, it was quick and romantic. Scott was sweet and caring, definitely swoon worthy! On the other hand, Cleo had her doubts throughout the story, she wanted to make the right decision for her baby and it all worked out in the end. Although both of the characters had flaws, they made them work by helping each other. The epilogue will melt your heart, it was sweet and short. I would highly recommend it, it makes a great holiday read. :)

I’ll be honest, Cleo made me want to pull out my hair. I can’t begin to recall a more indecisive, emotionally wrecked, and completely irrational, drama queen than Cleopatra Jones (that name made me laugh out loud because ...seriously?).

After her estranged lover returns, and knocks her up, the two go on a far too long path of will they/won’t they get back together?. Whilst on this too long path, we’re treated to nonsensical issues; I can’t tell you how many times I literally rolled my eyes at the hot mess that is Cleo.

Scott, her potential suitor, spends the better part of his time needing a message decoder because Cleo is ridiculously indecisive ...and perhaps a bit self-centered, too. At least in my opinion.

By the time it’s clear what will become of these two—a fate that is, as you’d expect, no surprise—you’re just hoping they’ll move on to an actual problem.

I didn’t dislike this book, on the contrary, I thought it was an entertaining holiday read. I just felt the central conflict didn’t merit the time it took to get resolved.

Scott and Cleo could have squashed their problems early, if Cleo weren’t such an enormous drama queen, and maybe more attention could’ve been given to her relationship with Zara, Emma, or Amanda—all of whom offered far more interesting storylines than Cleo.

End of the day, if you’re looking for a light-hearted read, with mostly likable characters, and an ending you can definitely see coming ...you could do much worse than this one.
