The Billionaire's Slave: Historical BWWM Romance Kindle Edition
From the first time Leon Falcon sets his eyes on Penny, he wants her.
Usually, a gentleman of his stature would woo a woman, court her and get her father’s blessing. But Falcon doesn’t have to do any of that with Penny because it’s 1864 South Carolina, she’s a slave, and she can’t say no to him or any white man.
Falcon’s plan is simple: first, he’s going to buy her. He’s going to teach her. And then he’s going to take her. But it isn’t long before he realizes he’s the student once Penny opens his heart to a love so powerful, it transcends every force that dares to tear them apart.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2022I loved this book! Stacy-Deanne wrote a great historical romance about a Caucasian slave owner and a Black female slave and the laws prior to and surrounding the Emancipation in 1865.
Leon Falcon and Penny were a true delight to read and see in your minds eye the time they lived in, loving each other but forbidden to marry. Then there’s Rose, I will just call her the devil incarnate. But love prevailed….that’s all that mattered. “Free at last, Free at last, Praise God Almighty…Free at last.”
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2022This is the first book I have read from this author and she now has a new fan. I’m starting to get addicted to historical romance due to books like this. I was hooked on this story right from the beginning. You can’t help but fall in love with these characters. It only took me a few hours to devour this book. I can’t wait to see what this amazing author will write next.
Penny is a slave to a family that treats her as their own. One day a man comes to the house and she is attracted to him. She feels like she has a connection to this stranger but she doesn’t know why. Penny is then sold to Falcon to pay off a family debt. She is shocked that the man she keeps thinking about is her master. They get to know one another and they find it’s more than just ownership between them. Will Penny find her true love or will she just be the help?
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2022This book is historically accurate that even though it’s a fictional story. The storyline is so real.
I can confirm that most of what was said in this book can actually be found true. And it makes the stories my great grandmother told us, to be true. This book actually had me calling up so many memories, I really enjoyed reading it from cover to cover.
Any opinions expressed within this review are solely and uniquely made by me and I am happily leaving this review. I originally voluntarily received an advanced copy of this book via bsprout.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2024The book was rushed and it has a lot of intimate scenes. I didn't feel real love between the MCs. 3 stars
- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2022This is purely a well-written love story, its timing is near the end of slavery, it's not a historical story 🙂. This sweet romantic storyline has some interesting supporting characters 🤔. Penny is a sweet soul, she's genuine, she loves with her whole heart. Rose is like a sister, but she wants Penney as her lover. Leon Falcon wants Penney, he loves her, he sees through Rose 😉. Miss Penney can read, she has her thoughts, the books she's given, 😂😂😂.
Leon and Penny 🔥💋❤💥, lawd have mercy, that cucumber tho 😉. I lmao, pissed a few times, this storyline will invoke different emotions. It's a good read, enjoy 😉.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2022Just a mash of sex scenes and more scenes. No connection between the characters. Hoe did they even fall in love.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2022Railroad magnate Leon Falcon cast his eyes on beautiful Penny and she ensnared him completely😍The ✍ spun a sweet ,tender story set in the period right before slavery ended. Their journey towards HEA was fraught with treachery and danger; but also filled with passion and true 💗 ; so it was wonderful to see their happiness 👨👩👧come to fruition💃This is my first 📚by Stacy-Deanne , and I plan add her to my list of fave authors🙌
- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2022Not gonna lie. When I first started reading I didn’t think I was going to like the book. I felt uncomfortable mostly because it was a genre I’ve never read before. Being an African American woman I thought, why would I want to read about slavery romanticized? I’m glad I kept reading.
At first I thought the male love interest was grooming the slave to well be a sex slave but watching their encounter develop to an actual relationship he was willing to risk his life and fortune for was intriguing. Penny is a doll. Experiencing her character growth was fantastic.
The intimate parts are great. Like super steamy. Need to douse my eyes with holy water and beg for forgiveness. I will never look at cucumbers or picnics the same again. Definitely detailed. Does contain swearing and topics that may make you uncomfortable. The characters are well developed and the language is spot on. Everything seemed authentic to the time period.
Overall it was an enjoyable book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
Not to be negative but I had high expectations for this book and it had potential. It did not feel like an historical at all. The “I’s “and “Massa”thrown into sentences did not make this it a historical romance novel.
