Brian

You’ll make it out of here, Brian. I swear.

I had everything — school quarterback, popular with girls, and my dad was proud of me. I told myself it didn’t matter no one knew the real me.

And then I nearly died. Landon saved my life. He’s the bravest guy I know. He came out a few years ago, proud and fierce, and he ran into gunfire to help others. Me, I’m a mess. Can’t even stand to be in a room with the curtains open. But here’s the thing about losing it all: You get a chance to start over and be someone new.

Only how can I move on when the two shooters who attacked our school were never caught? And why do I feel like I’m still in the crosshairs?

Landon

Will you kiss me?

When I came across Brian Marshall, the hottest guy in school, dying on the cafeteria floor, I did what anyone would do. I tried to save him. His request surprised me, but I figured he needed comfort, so I kissed him on the forehead.

When he survived and came back to school, he was broken in body and mind. He still needed me, and soon we were unlikely besties. But what I saw at school that day woke me up. I want to demand action on gun control, lead protests, raise my fist. I’ll tear the world down if I have to. And if I can get the man of my dreams and save the world at the same time? I’ll take it. Only I didn’t understand that the horror at Jefferson Waller High wasn’t over.

Amazing book

This book has joined the ranks of some of my favorite books of all time. The story is well wrote and is so real and raw in portions, not to mention who dosent love a good twist when it's well done.

Puts you right where you don’t want to be!

Although I have no personal experience in a shooting, I couldn’t help to believe and feel that the emotions and fear brought out in this book were accurate and real. The there were certain points in the story that had me feeling like I could have a panic attack. Definitely should come with trigger warnings.

My only problem was that I live about 30 or 40 minutes south of St. Louis and wish the author had made it feel more that way too me. I don’t know if she knows the area but it just didn’t feel that way to me. It felt more like 40 minutes south of St.louis on the Illinois side of the river.

Over all I strongly recommend this book. I plan to read much more from Eli Easton.

Real and Woke

Hands down the best book I've read all year. Mr. Easton does such an amazing job painting a picture with his words as if you are with the characters experiencing this tragic event with them. A reverse Romeo and Juliette where tragedy brings the star-crossed lovers together. I don't think there was a chapter where I didn't weep and feel, and I mean really feel for what Brian and Landon had to go through together. Touch on the issue of guns in school is scary but very real. It's great that it's being written about helping raise awareness for a shockingly increasing incident. Great read folks, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing moving story of love and survival

WOW, this book is a poignant story you will not be able to put down!
The narrator was very good, emotional, had a great range of voices and accents and really brought every emotion out of the book's pages into my ears.
I have read many of this author's books, but most are more lighthearted. I knew this subject will be a gut puncher, but was woefully ill-prepared for how much. I live in Israel, where we do not have school shootings, but we are no strangers to terror attacks and mass shootings. The way Brian and Landon experience the day their high-school was attacked was terrifying to read. It reminded me of the times we had missile attacks and had to run for cover, that primitive instinct to survive.
The relationship they build following the event of that horrible day is beautiful, gentle, accepting, and it was depicted with such care.
I think this is an important story, and it's ever more so in these days of unrest, that we learn how violence and hatred effect the people around us, and the strength we can find in ourselves.

So touching

I knew this audiobook was going to make me cry because the book made me sob the first time I read it. Tristian Josiah did an amazing job in bringing Landon and Brian to life. I loved them. I laughed, cried, and felt all the things with them. They're so sweet and tragedy may have brought them together, but you could hear how much they loved one another. This book is so relevant and as hard as it was to listen to at times, it was also the type of stark reality that we sorely need. As it put into words what so many of us feel but cannot say. Hats off to the author and the narrator for accomplishing that.

Finally! A Narrative w/ Relevancy for 2020.

At first, I thought I would struggle with the story line but it was so much more than I was expecting. It was not just about another tragic school shooting, it was about the rage, violence and insanity that has gripped a large number of Americans over the last 4 years. It called out the "MAGA's Mania" and went right into a critical connection that exists between them and hatred of "others". The sweet love story was tastefully and sympathically presented. I loved the growth of the connection between the two teenagers and the way the mystery was solved. This is the first review I've written & would give it 10 stars if I could. My gratitude to the author, for her sensitive and thoughtful story...I'm looking forward to more of Eli Easton's writing but she has a huge challenge to top this story.

Rough but excellent

What a fabulous and heart rending story. The characters of Brandon and Landon are so dear and strong. I loved watching how their relationship developed. Be sure that you check trigger warnings. I wasn’t entirely prepared but I had a general idea. A wonderful heart rending story. And there is an HEA for these wonderful young men.

wonderful

Boy Shattered by Eli Easton is a wonderfully told story that had me emotional, and had me glued to the story.  I loved the connection that formed between Brian and Landon, the beauty that emerges from a tragedy.  I definitely had a lot of feelings listening to the audiobook.  Between the spectacular writing of Eli Easton and the Wonderful narration by Tristan Josiah, I felt like I could be part of the scenes, feeling the emotions - the fear, the anger, the sorrow, the peace and the love.

Absolutely Amazing

I loved this book, read it several times. And was so happy seeing it in audio.
The narrator was new to me but I was very impressed over the absolutely amazing job he did brining Brian and Landon to life in audio.

Very enjoyable and highly recommendable, a must listen!
