Brutal Winter Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 676 ratings

I’ve always hated winter. This year when it comes, I’ll belong to them.

When you sign your soul over to the devil, there are no take backs.

I knew the terms of the contract when I signed it.

For one year, my life isn’t mine.

For one year I am to obey, to be seen not heard.

For one year I’m theirs, mind, body, and soul.

The bodyguard. The fixer. The maniac. The boss.
Four men on a path to ruin me.

I may be theirs for a year, but the damage they plan on doing to me will last a lifetime. That’s if I even survive, because between the family and their enemies, the odds of me even making it past the end of winter are low.

This is the first book in a dark reverse harem contemporary romance series that will contain explicit language and graphic scenes. This series will contain triggering material such as dub con and non con. It is not for the faint of heart.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🔥 I recieved a ARC copy of Brutal Winter and this is my honest review. For a Dark Romance. It is Dark!! Loads and Loads of TRIGGER WARNINGS. This book is not for everyone. While it is a dark romance this book to me had very little romance, but what it lacked in romance it made up for with a lot of other things. The Romance it did have was good. Oh Vito🖤 A Dark Mafia Reverse Harem. Winter pulled me in. I’ve never read a RH book quite like this one. While I did enjoy this book i wish there was a little more romance but you can tell there is still so much more to this story to be told and i can’t wait for the rest of the series to be out. OKAY can we talk about the dedication page!! I knew from that, that this book was going to be awesome.

Oh my goodness I promise you I was not expecting for the turn of events that happened throughout this book. I was immediately hooked on this book and I could not put it down I literally stayed up very very late for this book. Just everything in this book just had me at the edge of my seat and I could not put this book down I was really curious to what was going to happen with Winter. Now I'm not going to lie what her brother did was totally messed up and I definitely would have been mad as hell too with him, but the four Mobsters that winter ends up staying with oh my goodness I am not going to lie I instantly felt attracted to all four of them. But the one I feel like I am the most attracted to is Maximo. Now of course I don't like what he did to winter but at the same time though there's just something about him that draws me to him now he is definitely crazy as hell and I just couldn't not keep my mind off of him because I feel like there's more to him and for some reason his craziness and I guess his personality and somewhat sense of humor just gets me. Now with him and Enzo I was completely shocked but at the same time I was just like wow okay so do got a man but even though he considered him as his "Plaything" I just feel like there is more to Maximo then what meets the eye.
Now Giovanni all I got to say yeah that man is ruthless to the core and I just could not keep it together when it came to him cuz like he is so bogus with Winter but at the same time I feel attracted to him. And then you got Vito which I actually love and appreciate him for actually respecting Winter, like at least he shows sympathy and he actually cares for her and respects her and treats her like a human being at least but I know that he has some messed up issues about him, but I just respect him for him treating Winter like a decent human being.
So basically overall this book was so good I am immediately hooked and I just have one big question why is this book not into a damn movie? But I am now officially a fan of this series and I definitely look forward to reading the other books.
Quireh Casey you did your thing with this book I can tell you put a lot of work into it and you put your foot in this book I am now officially a fan of you and I look forward to more of this series and I look forward to reading more of your books but this series right here definitely got me hooked and you are literally super super awesome💯

This first book in the series absolutely fascinated me. The beautiful Winter has been coerced into a yearlong contract with Giovanni Costa head of the local mafia cartel in order to pay her brother’s drug debt and save his own life. In signing this contract, she becomes the property of the Costa family giving up her body, mind and soul. She is held captive by Giovanni Costa and his chief henchmen his crazy brother and 2nd in command Maximo, his fixer Vito and his personal body guard, ex-military soldier Enzo. During the first season of her captivity, Winter witnessed shoot outs, seen dead bodies and experienced fleeing a scene before the arrival of the cops and has had sex both with two of the Costa henchmen with and without consent. Still Giovanni’s true plans for Winter have yet to be fully revealed! By the end, after Winter and Enzo are kidnapped by the Ramos cartel, they survive it and are rescued after many are killed in order to save them. Winter adds killer and target to her list of experiences while under contract to the Costas. It’s apparent that each of the four men care about Winter in their own way but what is in store for them and her next season? I cannot wait to find out!

This book is dark... I mean dark. The kind of dark that has you questioning yourself and I loved every single page of it. Like I said this book is not for the faint of heart but wow! In order to pay off her brother's debt Winter must live a year with the Costa Family. I do not want to give any spoilers but from the first chapter you get a quick lesson in who these men are and wonder if they will destroy Winter body and soul. If you like Alpha Males, amazing writing, characters you root for and other you love to hate and hate to love, read this book. Warning it is 1 of 4 books but it doesn't end in a cliffhanger per say. The main conflict in the book is resolved. It almost reads like a tv series where the next chapter is the next season on their story.

First and foremost, reviewers taking off stars for this story being “too dark” or “too triggering” doesn’t make much sense. The warnings are right there in the description.

Second, I took one star because this is a reverse harem only in the sense that the main characters are 4 men and 1 woman. Others elements generally associated with reverse harem just isn’t present.

Third, I took away another star because Winter’s level of naïveté is gobsmacking considering her past and background. Someone having been through all of the things she’s been through simply would not be so trusting and nieve to start. Despite her past Winter goes into this with a mentality that I would expect of someone having not been abused and suffering for much of their adolescence. You want me to believe that someone that was so mistreated and abused in the past to the point of suicidal ideation isn’t coming into this situation with her head on swivel? That’s just not believable. The lack of sheer survival instinct starting out is… disappointing.

Other than those elements it’s a relatively well written story. My only other gripe is that we’re reading through Winter’s thought process for most of the story. I don’t mean seeing the story from her perspective. I literally mean that like 80% of the book is Winter’s internal dialogue about what’s going on around her. I’m personally not a fan of that style of storytelling but that’s not a reason to take another star. That said, I likely won’t be continuing this series simply because this isn’t a true reverse harem and Winter’s level of ignorance despite her past is just off putting. I still say give it a chance. It’s not a bad read.

    Happy reading.

This book was amazing. One of the darkest books I’ve ever read but it was good. I’m looking forward to learning more about each of the men in Winter’s life. Maximus is twisted and I can’t see me ever liking him. First book I’ve read by this author and I wasn’t disappointed.

It was darker then the usual books I read. And I believe that Quirah is the only one that writes non con and I lap it up. This is such a great author that I can't stop reading! The guys are sexy and sadist but I'm in love with Vito. And Winter? Poor girl. I hope things start getting better for her in book 2.

There’s a reason they always remind you the Devil was beautiful.

Seriously, as much as I shouldn’t I loved Maximo!

Winter is thrown to the wolves literally, in the form of Giovanni Costa. Her brother’s debt, her life in exchange for 12 months. Dark themes certainly.

This was an engaging read from page one. Congrats on a beautifully written, heartbreaking character in Winter. As the FMC I was honestly concerned she’d be unable to rise up with such a damaged soul.

Looking forward to seeing where this leads in book two. The relationships between her men aren’t interconnected yet, so expecting them heat level to go up.

This is a dark mafia RH that was very different. Winter is an interesting character that seems resigned to her fate at times and others is willing to fight. The guys are also interesting but I feel we only are scratching at the surface with them. The storyline definitely keeps you guessing and wanting more.
