About the author

Rob has been captivated by science fiction and fantasy since he discovered The Hobbit in 3rd grade. Since then, he's been an avid consumer of all genre's of fiction (and some non-fiction).
When he's not inhaling new stories or writing his own, he studies Jeff Speakman's Kenpo 5.0-V2, in which he proudly holds a Black Belt.
Why does he prefer writing science fiction? As Rob says, "Where else can you land a space ship on the lawn of the White House?".

- Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2020I hadn't expected that these books would be about vampires. I haven't watched any of the TV series about vampires. However, the author does incorporate them in a manner I found intriguing. I also did not expect sex scenes. They were explicit, graphic and exceptionally well done. I guess "titillating" would be a good description. The author writes well and following dialogue was easy. I'll read more of his books even if they don't have sex scenes.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2021Still an entertaining read but beginning to become tedious and repetitive. A good proofreader would be a definite plus. My final book purchase from this series. Bartlett shows promise as a writer.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2021That's what this book kept me in (as well as it's predecessor book also did).
Since I think sarcasm and puns are the highest forms of entertainment and also indicate an especially high level of intelligence, Rob Bartlett must be a genius.
I'm not going to give a clue about what's in this book, well, just one. 32 foot crocodile.
Have fun and enjoy the read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2020This novel, as the first one, is 'Mindcandy'. Old enough to remember the Saturday movie theater serials? This is just like those movies! Fun, quick, no hidden messages and damn...no popcorn!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2021This would have been much more enjoyable if the (HEH) wasn’t used. Totally unnecessary and distracting. I found it so annoying this is probably the last book in this series I’ll read.

5.0 out of 5 stars High speed, funny and violent
The second outing of Captain Milo, this book is jam packed. The characters are amazing, each offering more interest and colour to the book. I love First,he has some.of the best dialogue in the whole book. Needless to say can't wait for the third book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling. Addictive. UnPutDownable.
Rob's first book, the prequel to this one, instantly became my favorite ever SF book.
Rob has delivered again, following on from his outstanding first SF book.
I inhaled it over 3 evenings, it didn't even touch the sides as it went down.
If you like realpolitik, innovation being fought by entrenched interests,
unexpected plot twists arriving like relentless blows as the stakeholders
struggle against each other, some attacks rampant, others woven
with a delightfully subtle iron-fist in velvet-glove dance, but always
ruthless and playing for keeps, then you'll love Rob's work.
The groups of competing interests and their shifting alliances are smaller
than some pinnacle space opera authors
... for that see Frank Herbert's Dune series &
our dearly-missed friend Ian Bank's Culture novels
That doesn't make the stage small, just less cluttered, with the interests
and strategies clearer once they become visible, and the interplay between them
always somewhere between rapid and frenetic.
In this way, Rob always has you guessing where things will go next.
Rob's style is, to my eyes and heart, poetry.
Because a great poet astonishes us with how much they manage to say
with so few words.
Somehow Rob makes you feel physically present in the drama as it unfolds
... please change nothing there, Rob; it's almost a drug, but soo good !
This makes Rob a rare and much treasured talent,
with, given his relatively young age, hopefully,
many decades of extraordinary work ahead of him
for us to enjoy.
Onward and upward, Rob !
Five stars out of five; recommended.
