    This boxset is the first 3 books in the Barbarian Clans of Xavren.

    The books follow the lives of Marion, Lana, and Diana, sister, who sign up to be the first to head to the planet Xavren, to found the human colony there. All the sister end up mated to different aliens as there were not many females on the planet. Loved the storylines in each of the books and the characters were all intriguing and had a lot to learn about each other and their cultures.
    Enjoyed all the stories in one boxset.

    Marion takes her two younger sisters (one biological and one a sister of the heart) and flees Earth to Xavren to escape an untenable situation only to get to Xavren and realises that she may just have jumped from the frying pan into the fire. These three books deals with each of the sisters in turn, with Marion taking lead. I really enjoyed the characters. The male that Marion gets taken by, Brotak, has zero experience with women and as a result has no clue how to treat Marion other than like a brood mare. What I enjoyed most about the books is these human women proving their strength and resilience, landing on a strange world, forced into an even stranger situation and yet changing the lives, and hearts, of the local clan. The characters are wonderful and likeable and the stories themselves were thoroughly enjoyable and made for some really great down time over the weekend.

    Marion knew she and her sisters had to get away from the colony they were living in on Earth. She thought she found a good option, with accommodations and a promise of jobs... but so often things sound too good to be true.

    Brotak doesn't trust the council, or any of the city dwellers, but desperate times call for desperate agreements. He has no idea how the council plans to live up to their end, but the more he sees of the situation, the more concerned he gets.

    This done in one quick read features two characters who tend to take responsibility for others, Brotak as leader of his clan, Marion from being eldest sister, and finding her in a position where she can speak for others. Yet each has spent so much time protecting and helping others that they are only now learning to truly speak for themselves.

    Fierce Alien — … “ I can trust him even though I barely know him."

    Lana's older sister was the first human to mate one of these aliens. The guards at the fortress tried to tell Lana and Diana that Marion wandered off into the woods at night and got lost/disappeared, but Dhacar found Lana, and brought her reassuring word Marion was alive and well.

    Dhacar was impressed by Lana at their initial meeting in the first book... she didn't believe the guards lies, she demanded he take her to her sister, and she reluctantly agreed to do that which was difficult, but helped keep everyone safe.

    Now Lana, and the rest of the surviving humans are living in the mountain, and Dhacar is ready to get to know her better.

    This done in one quick read focuses on how past experiences can influence our current reaction, can shade our interpretations and responses, and can distract us just as much as daydreaming about wonderful possibilities. It also juxtaposes a variety of alliances, some uneasy but mutually beneficial, some based on common interests, and some where, at their core, there is a complete lack of trust between the two sides, yet neither can achieve the goal alone.

    At this point not only am I enjoying the world building, but I hope this series goes for a while, as I'm enjoying seeing how the various types of alliances play out. Additionally, I can't help but hope for at least one visit inside the walls of one of the golden cities.

    Savage Alien — "She’s as alien to me as I am to her."

    Diana came to a new world in search of a new life, not more of the same old frustrations.

    Vrihith is determined to protect headstrong and stubborn Diana, even from herself. This human has no idea how precarious peace on their world is, or how untrustworthy the high council are, and Vrihith doesn't always have time to stop and explain as he's pulling her out of a proverbial fire.

    This done in one quick read moves the overarching arc forward, does some really interesting world building, all while focusing on two characters who have lived in dysfunctional families and aren't sure what their own future should look like.

    As always this author's stories grab your attention and you are hooked until the story is done. Then if you are not careful you have started the next one and cannot put down. These first three books in this series have interesting and entertaining stories with wonderful and unique characters. These characters have intense chemistry, engaging histories and well crafted personalities. These stories have twists, turns, action, adventure, and romance. Well done series.

    It’s an ok book. Earth and aliens have a trade agreement and the result is that human women are shipped to an alien planet as mates. A few men also migrate to the alien planet. I don’t understand why Earth found it necessary to trade women. I don’t recall a detail discussion of the reasoning. The women life on earth were such that most of them were eager to leave the planet. This book is about three sisters and how they survive and find love. I liked Marion the oldest sister but I found the other two (Lana and Diana) annoying (even though they redeem themselves by the end of the book) which is why I didn’t rate this higher. The battles were really interesting.

    This was a great boxset! Marion, Lana, and Diana are three sisters who sign up to be on the first transport to planet Xavren to be founders of the first human colony there. The Intergalactic Colonist Association assures them they will have all they need, but they weren't told they were sent to be given as mates to the aliens there- who have almost no females. This boxset contains the first three books in this series. Each book follows a different sister and her experience with the one who will be her mate. These stories sucked me in right away. The storylines were interesting and I enjoyed them. Well written and well paced. I liked the characters. Great world building. I'm looking forward to the fourth book. 5 stars.
