    Author Melissa Spencer adds a new book to her growing children’s books publications with a special gift for the holiday season – THE CLUMSY ELF – illustrated by Anila Malic.

    Some insights into what is going on at the North Pole, Melissa shares, ‘Trip was a kind of elf who always make everyone laugh in Santa’s Village. Sadly, they all laughed AT him because he was so clumsy. Whenever anything went wrong in Santa’s Workshop, he was always in the middle of the muddle.’ Trip tries to help Santa trim the tree, to brush of a fly while climbing on Prancer (the words “Hello fly” send the reindeer flying and bumbling before landing back at the Village). Santa creates some magic and sends Trip to a home with a letter that the little boy Tim will have Trip as a guest until Christmas Eve. Trip adjusts to sitting on the mantle until nightfall when he creeps into the kitchen for something to eat, and of course spills cereal as he climbs to the cupboards. Other muddles include the bathtub, the microwave and a popcorn misadventure, and more and more. Yet each time Trip messes up, the little boy and his mother just laugh and enjoy his antics instead of berating his clumsiness. When Santa arrives on Christmas Eve he acknowledges Trip’s achievement and is proud of him!

    Included in this delightful story are some terrific visual puzzles that will entertain the reader even after enjoying the story. Very highly recommended. Grady Harp, December 21

    What a lovely book, we have had elves for 8 years and they have done the same things as Trip so it’s great to be able to relate and also puts in to perspective that hey they not naughty elves but maybe just a little clumsy!!
