Confetti Hearts (Confetti Hitched Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 2,723 ratings

Joe Bagshaw doesn’t believe in love or marriage anymore, which is rather a hindrance for a wedding planner.

His own marriage was a whirlwind affair that ended before the ink could dry on the wedding certificate. Nevertheless, even with his divorce pending, he’s getting by. Or at least he was until he finds himself snowed in at a remote Scottish hotel with the wedding party from hell, a terrible ABBA tribute band, and his soon-to-be ex-husband.

Lachlan has missed Joe from the second his husband walked away. He wants Joe back and is prepared to do anything to get him. Being snowed in together seems to offer the chance Lachlan needs, but does he have what it takes to get Joe to trust in love and their marriage again?

From bestselling author Lily Morton, comes a romantic comedy about love, matrimony, and the best of second chances.

This is the first book in the Confetti Hitched series.

Second chance snowed in romance.

Second chance snowed in romance.
Lily Morton has SUCH a way with romance! I am a major sucker for second chance romance, especially when the participants are/were married, so this called to me. Joe and Lachlan had a steamy, hot and heavy start to a whirlwind romance, so when it ends with a bang, Joe attempts to just go back to life as normal… but he is purely heartbroken. When his job as a wedding planner brings him to wedding where Lachlan is in attendance, Joe panics… while Lachlan tries to win him back. With a bit of luck, good or bad depending on who you ask, a snowstorm comes in, making it practically impossible for either of them to leave. This was such a tender novel about the power of love, the caution of miscommunication and the beauty of second chances. This audiobook was expertly narrated by Joel Leslie, who NEVER fails to give his all! This was sweet and funny and I adored it!

This is what I imagine when I want to read a witty romantic comedy. It has all the well known tropes (Vegas shotgun wedding, mega misunderstanding, snowed in, horrible rich old woman, only one bed, meddling friends and family members... ).
BUT it is anything but cliche. Everything is wrapped up in a charming, super snarky dialogue with pop culture references and super sweet scenes. If you are a fan of Alexis Hall books and characters, but want less stress, this is a book for you. I fell in love with the characters AND the side characters and I am looking forward to reading the next book from this series.

I have adored every Morton book I've read. I love the humour and warmth she inserts in her stories. So I found myself surprised by this one. The start felt so jarring that I was disconnected to this love story. I was frustrated that Joe's family/friends weren't properly on his side. It took me ages to warm up to Lachlan, and while I don't think he was a bad person or that their romance wasn't meant to be, I never really checked back into this story. It just wasn't for me. If you're a big fan of second-chance romance you might enjoy this one.

We watch, from Vegas to Scotland, as our guys screw up and then figure out how it will work.
Lachlan, older, hard worker and Joe, a wedding Planner met at a wedding. It was lust at first sight. Then they saw more of each other, each one a loner who didn’t believe in love. The wedding scenario’s are such funny stories.
We see the great times and the fallout, well described by our author, and we’ve come to love our men.
The ending and epilogue are so satisfying.
    ENJOY !

This is a great second chance get to know your spouse better romance book! Lachlan and Joe met a wedding and had a whirlwind romance, like for married 2 days after they met. Things are obviously awkward for them right now.
Joe is a wedding planner and darn good at his job. He has to deal with some interesting people with job. He's also at a very down point with his marriage to Lachlan. He saw something, and it broke something in him.
Lachlan is older and focused on his job. He put it first instead of Joe, and it's now not what he wants.
These two are at a pivotal part of their lives. They need to get real with one another and get to know one another on a personal level.
This is not your normal romance book, it digs deep into the feels and creates a beautiful love story. I seriously loved how mature the characters acted and how they realized what went wrong with them at the beginning. They knew what they needed to do and worked on making it better. Oh and actually saying the three little words to one another (I love you).

Morton writes such funny and charming stories. I love Joe’s wit and impulsiveness almost as much as Lachlan does. From the first time he sees him, Lachlan cannot resist Joe. He’s utterly bewitched, and no matter how he tries to deny it, he can’t stay away from him. Unfortunately, fighting it so hard eventually catches up to him when Joe leaves and asks for a divorce. Lachlan has done such a good job keeping his walls up that Joe doesn’t believe Lachlan ever loved him. So he’s bewildered when Lachlan appears at a wedding Joe has organized. But fate steps in in the form of a snowstorm that forces them to spend time together and work together. It’s a good opportunity for these two to get to know each other better and for Joe to see the effects of the epiphany Lachlan had. It was impressive that Joe took as much responsibility for their break up as he did—he’s apparently more mature than I am because I did not blame him at all for leaving, and I don’t think I would have let Lachlan off the hook as much as Joe did. But it was so clear how remorseful Lachlan was, how stunned when a new hurt from the past was revealed, that I couldn’t help rooting for them to get back together.

The side characters were amusing in different ways. And I’m hoping Joe’s friend Rafferty gets a book, but I am pretty sure his boss, Jed, is, and I can’t wait.

I usually love this author and she's almost always an auto buy. I had a little trouble with this book as I wasn't enamored with either Joe or Lachlan. I was glad to see Joe get his own book after his bit part in Vow Maker but I thought he came across as a little selfish. Lachlan was also and their marriage seemed so rushed and without any basis. They were so totally different it was hard to see them together. I also agree with another reviewer that there were too many weddings with too many self important participants and I would have liked to see Frances get her comeuppance. It would have been nice if the author would have shown at least one wedding with actual nice people. There were so many good things about this, though, and I don't think the author could actually write a bad book. She writes snark and fun scenes so well. I was glad to see the HEA here but these two guys had lots of work to do on their relationship. I will be looking forward eagerly to the next book in this series, but this one wasn't her best. I'd like to see the next installment of The Model Agency series also.

    5 Stars.

Repeat title of this review. Yes, awesome and romantic. And funny.

I love Lily Morton’s book and they’re getting better and better. This is actually the first book that I’ve read where the couple are already married, where doubt steps in and divorce is on the cards. At first I thought that the story would continue with Joe eventually finding someone else, but dammit, I liked Lachlan. He and Joe just had something special going on.

I like that Morton’s stories are, although fairly light, always have a little edge to them. They’re not fluffy romances but well thought out tales with humour (I do love the banter between Joe and Lachlan), and a touch of real life sadness or bad memories or something that goes wrong (in Joe and Lachlan’s case), and of course, romance. And this is such a romantic book. The length that Lachlan goes through to try to win Joe back to him is lovely and endearing. *sigh* They are just meant for each other.

I really didn’t want this book to end, I was enjoying being in the company of Joe and Lachlan so much. Luckily, book 2 about Rafferty is already in my library, just waiting for me to start reading it. I know it will be just as good as this one.

The first book in a series: new characters, new settings - and romance, not always easy to accomplish. I have to admit that I wasn't in the right headshape while reading this book and I will have to re-read it to get a better view for myself. The characters are both great - although I sometimes would have loved to slap them both. It is a great 2nd chance romance and shows how important talking is in any relationship.
You can expect a snarky romance, a lot of heat and an absolutely beautiful happy ending. 🌟 Looking forward to the series ❣️

I hate second chance romance stories; the why of it is my story. Didn’t realize this is what Confetti Hearts was until I went back and read the synopsis. I’d rushed ahead and started reading then couldn’t figure out why so much time was being spent on the dead relationship.

Almost didn’t continue when I realized Joes’ love interest was his soon to be ex husband Lachlan. But happy that I stuck it out. I just HAD to know that Joe got his HEA.

So while I still hate second chance romances (and will be careful to check before I start) I also love Lily Morton’s writing and her characters. Now I’m heading straight into book 2 (best friends to lovers stories I do like!)
