    The last installment in the Dark Brothers series introduces us to Elle and the Brothers who hold her captive, Nyx, Rye and Thorne. As with each previous book in the series this one has it's own distinctive pace as we are slowly introduced to Elle and her backstory, or lack thereof :-) while held by the Brothers.

    She is saved from slavery only to become captive to the Brothers who want to punish her for transgressions that she cannot recall. Their mistrust of Elle is grounded in a past that not only holds secrets for her and the Brothers, but the entire Light Realm. I will not include further details than that as everything else is tied to the fate of the realms and I don't want to spoil the big finish. I will say though that it is absolutely worth getting this book!

    You will loathe the Brothers before you start loving them. But once you understand why they treat her as they do your heart will ache for them. Elle is a strong h who grows even stronger as the story progresses. There is plenty of steam and the dark elements are in line with other books in this series. It perhaps has a little bit less fighting and battle scenes than some of the previous ones, but still had plenty of action to keep things going. We also get to see the h's and H's from the other books in the series again in this one :-). I wouldn't have minded to see epilogues that show where all of them end up afterward.

    I would recommend that you read the preceding books first as it will make things in this book much clearer as this book wraps up a saga that has been woven into each book.

    Congrats to Ms. Alessy for a great completion to this series! I cannot wait to see which direction her next series will take.

    What a perfect ending to the Dark Brothers Series!! Each book in this 6 book series, is a standalone that takes place in the same world. But in this last book, all the characters from the first five books come together!! I loved it, and seeing how they were all getting on!

    Elle was a great character. There is so much about her that slowly becomes revealed, but even when her memory is completely gone and she doesn’t know who she is, she is so strong. But in a real way, in a way where she knows her place in life, but refuses to let it destroy her. I loved her character.

    The guys, holy freaking hot men!! But grumpy, mean and angry at first. Real alpha-holes! I was trying to decide my favorite between Rylan, Thorne and Nyx. I would definitely say Nyx in the beginning, but Rylan really grew on me. It’s a hard choice, but I’d probably say Rylan. They’re more than your typical dark brothers and they’re dangerous. But they’re also sexy as heck! I even found The Beast sexy, in his own way!

    If you enjoy dark rh romance, dark fantasy, and extremely spicy scenes, you will love the whole freaking series. It is sad to see it come to an end.

    I have absolutely LOVED this series and this was the perfect end, revisiting (even if only for a short time) all of the previous Brothers and Fourths, and flushing out many of the questions that had come up in previous books - how did the brothers start, why was Kitore protected, what has been causing the upheaval in the world?

    As much as I enjoyed the plot and characters, you could tell there were sections of the book that were almost rushed. Simple grammar errors and a couple scenes where I stopped and said “what just happened?!” or “that’s it, after all that build up?!” But, there weren’t so many that it prevented me from enjoying the book and most only gave me a temporary pause.

    I’m sad that this is the end of the Dark Brothers series, but look forward to the promised spin off trilogy!!!

I also like the acknowledgment that Elle can only do so much—the inhabitants of each place will have to make things work themselves. I did not expect the change that came for the Dark Brothers camp. The series (and this book) is a great read.
