Blood is book one of the Diamond Doms series of interconnected standalones. This book had me on the edge of my seat from the first page! I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting! Holly is the face of her fathers charity foundation but wanted more for herself. She wanted the chance to move up in her career and knew that wasn’t possible in her dad’s business. So when her brother recommends her for his business partners assistant she jumps at it. But both her brother and his business partner, Elijah, hate her father. When secrets start to surface Holly isn’t sure how to handle everything. How is she suppose to navigate her attraction with Elijah and her love for her father knowing they hate each other? This book was amazing! It had angst, suspense, secrets, action, drama, romance, and lots of spice! I’m so glad I started this series and I can’t wait to read Patrick’s story in book two!

    Elijah gives Holly exquisite pleasure and a mind of her own. There is so much family, drama and business drama in this book, you won’t know who you can trust or who is telling the truth. She is everything he has ever wanted, and he is everything she never dreamed she could have. Their attraction is electric. Oxygen stealing kisses lead to their voracious desire for each other. Elijah has finally convinced Holly to tell him everything about everything, whether she’s happy, sad, sick or worried. The more they communicate, the more sensuous this book gets. It’s like they are being 100% with each other, and they are in their own little bubble of life and pleasure. Elijah takes care of Holly as if she were the most precious thing on earth. It is beautiful to read. She cannot imagine a life without him. Awesome book. This is the first book in the series and you will be so consumed with this book that you will have to read the entire series. Sensational.

    This was an interesting book due to the background story of a lab created diamond verses a blood diamond and the ethics behind each product. The story centers around the wealthy blood diamond seller with his criminal behaviors and the newcomer siting his ethics in selling lab created diamonds... yet he co-owns a sex club. The blood diamond business owner has a daughter who gets involved in a working and sexual relationship with the co-owner of the lab created diamonds. To add to the challenges, her brother has separated his ties to her father, for reasons she is unaware. He is now a business partner in the lab created diamonds and the sex club. As the story develops, she has to determine the truth behind her father's business, explore her interest in the sex club while avoiding her brother and solve the mystery surrounding her father's business. The book seemed a little slow in developing the emotional bond of the characters, so I gave it a 4.

    Holly Sutton is the face of the Sutton Foundation. Troy Wilson is the director of the Sutton Foundation. Holly’s father, Nicholas Sutton won’t let her run the foundation. He thinks she should just attend all the charity events and he makes her go to a nightclub with his client’s two daughters.

    Elijah Barrett is at the same club as Holly. He rather be in Colorado at Club Solitaire which is an exclusive BDSM club he helped found. He and Holly dance then Eli takes her to a private office. He is interrupted by a phone call and has to leave. He gets her number.

    His diamond production lab was set on fire. They think Nicholas Sutton was behind it. Patrick Sutton works with Eli on this project.

    I loved how things got interesting when Eli finds out that his Holly is actually Patrick Sutton’s sister.

    I’m all over the place on this one. I got invested and didn’t consider a DNF, but so much didn’t add up. SO many questions.

    I didn’t like Eli much and didn’t think the bedroom (etc) scenes were very hot because the raw stuff wasn’t balanced with tenderness, or even much aftercare. And his behavior in the office. Oh, come on. What an entitled baby-man.

    It’s weird how Patrick seemed so passionless and defeatist about his mother’s death. With all of the sleuthing resources at his command, even tho the book takes place years later, why wasn’t there more detective work? It took all of the energy out of the “our father killed our mother!” revelations. He just gave up.

    It’s not even clear what the horrific evidence against Holly was. Files? And it was never explained how it *was* obtained. For such an important plot point (third-act breakup) it felt contrived, rushed, and weak. Holly definitely forgave him too quickly.

    I just can’t recommend it.

    Elijah Barrett owns Club Solitaire. While out with a client, he observes and is attracted to Holly. She does not seem to enjoy the club environment, but she certainly does enjoy Eli!

I enjoy series where the characters from previous books are still around the main characters and you get to see how things progress with them. Eli & Holly's story was emotional and suspenseful and I enjoyed seeing the growth between the two of them during the story. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

    This is the first full-lenth novel in the Diamond Doms series and is a great start. This book has everything I love in a book: Romance, Suspense, Love and LOTS of heat. Holly and Elijah are both very likable characters as are the other "supporting" people who will hopefully get their own HEA soon.
    The story plays out in 2 different settings: the high-stakes Diamond industry and a super-secret BDSM club in the wilds of Colorado. I liked the way Holly's introduction to Eli's lifestyle happend over several weeks and in HOT and varied sessions. This is actually the first time I've read a scene where a number of impact toys were used on a "Let's try this and see if you like it" basis - absolutely fantastic.
    I'm not going to spoil the fun by revealing the complete storyline but I WILL say that it keeps you glued to the book - I think I didn't get up from my chair all day until I was done. What's more, if I had this as a paperback, I would make room on my keeper shelf. Fortunately, my Kindle will let me re-read it any time. Can't wait to get to the next one!
