You did not end it that way!? Are you serious!? 😳 Wow wow wow, what a freaking fantastic ride. I’ve met a lot of mafia book boyfriends who claim to be the devil, but they’re all wrong... Nic is the actual mother FN Devil!! His control is unwavering and will stop at nothing for his revenge. Even when you think he’s about to slip, he slaps you in the face and reminds you who he is. Fuuuuu I don’t know if that made him hotter or not but I have some serious case of Stockholm’s right now! His I don’t give a f*** attitude will have you begging for more. No one is immune, especially Celia. I love this woman and her fighting spirit. She may have come to terms with her life long before meeting Nic, but her fight stays with her like permanent armor. Whether she is a pawn or not, she will do anything she can to gain back some control of her life. These two together are insanely combustible but fuuuuuu is all hope lost!? That ending got me tearing my hair out.... Need the next book NOW. I’m not even trying to sound like an annoying reader who wants everything right now, but omg I’m dying inside...

    Sitting at the dining table in this farce of a family dinner, Celia can't wait for it to be over and the man sitting beside her gone. Except in two days' time, she'll be married to this man. Marco Gardello.

    A few weeks ago her father settled an alliance between the Ricci and Gardello families, her being the sacrificial lamb. It wasn't until this moment that she understood why her beautiful older sister had taken her life six months ago.

    Nic is more excited about getting his revenge than the high he gets in killing his enemies. As he pulls up to the side gate of a mansion in a prestigious neighborhood with his second in command, Soo, two men are exiting the gate carrying a woman.

    As they drive away he notices there isn't anyone following to save her. Perfect. Today is the beginning of the end. He will take down all of the Five Families of the Chicago mafia, but especially the monster that is Celia's father. He will pay for killing his family.

    This book leaves you with a cliffhanger and a phrase that will confuse you as much as it does Celia. This book is mesmerizing in its violence. The characters are very intense and passionate. The storyline grabs you from page one and you are rooting for Celia throughout the story.

    Celia may have grown up in a wealthy family, but she was practically a prisoner in her own home not being able to get away on her own. When she is kidnapped for vengeance it's not much of a change except they are going to sell her to the highest bidder.

    Nic and his brother are determined to avenge the death of their family and Celia is step one in their plans to bring down the mafia families responsible.

    I love this book! It is full of intrigue and suspense. Nic is a monster who isn't afraid to kill to get what he wants and he fights his base instinct to have Celia because his quest for vengeance is stronger than his feelings for Celia. This book is full of passion, murder, betrayal, and hot chemistry. I can't wait to read book two and find out the mystery that this book leaves us.

    Had to read the second book before I gave review of the first one. I truly did not think Nic would ever redeem himself. He was pretty horrible and I hated him. He was totally going to sell her and made it obvious he had done it before like human trafficking and also seemed like he was going to bang that chick right in front of her and Soo and would have done it if he hadn't realized she ran and that's a big turn off so was really not sure if I could even like his character but I pushed through and read the second book and was surprised when he did redeem himself. Wow truly didn't want to like him but I did in the end good job.

    This absolutely was a twisted spill down the darkside. Nic came on so strong that he made you hate to love him and love to hate him. The sheer glimpses of his softer side gave me hope that he'd change his mind about his plans for Celia. There's a place reserved for people who desire his kind of hostility and I need to figure out whether to go. He is just delicious in all the wrongfully right ways.

    Celia is the typical naive girl who hasn't been exposed to much so I think her character was in perfect alignment. Although the attraction is very noticeable, there are triggers to what she experienced. Nic is teaching her how to survive his kind though and she is a quick study with every stupid, desperate decision she makes.

    As I read (Kindle Unlimited) and listened (Audible), I loved the narrator's steeled voice. It wasn't sugary sweet like most and it was easier to transition between platforms. in my opinion, Celia was made more believable not just in words but in sound and deed.

    I loved that Soo was so mysterious and logical, at some points even kind. He should have his own story or something. Lucas...as unhinged as he was, I think he made me hurt for him, and I enjoyed his confrontations with his brother Nic.

    Overall, the story was well written, and the plot twists came in on time with the rise and fall of the events taking place. The cliffy leaves you hanging by your fingers and the only way to escape is by dropping into the next book. If you like beautiful dark main male characters and challenged female characters then this is sure to tick boxes.

    If your looking for a dark mafia romance then look to further this hits all the boxes. It's dark and full of twists that will have wondering what will happen next.
    You have Celia who is basically a pawn in her family to be married off to another mafia family to ensure her father's future standings in this world. She is never to be allowed to speak for herself and must go along with whatever her father says. She has lived a sheltered life but has felt unloved and used by her family. Even after being captured by the man she refers to as the devil, she can't help but want more from him.
    Known as the devil, Nic only wants revenge on the five families that took apart his family. He wants to use Celia to take down her father but he seems to have a connection to her but fights it and doesn't let it come between what he wants in the end. Nic is set on his revenge and does unspeakable things to Celia as If she is the villain who betrayed his family and not her miserable father instead.
    You watch the two of them find moments neither can help having reactions to one another but trying in vain to to show no feelings. This story is woven around these mafia families that you either forge a relationship between them or they get rid of them. O has a lot of action and some dark moments and so many twists it keeps you wondering what is about to happen next. Be prepared for a cliffhanger that will have you needing the next book immediately. Definitely recommend this book if you like dark mafia romance.

    OMG, what have I just read? I hate cliffhangers but when I started reading Nic and Celia's story I was glad I didn't not get this. What an adventure we are on. A definite page turner with dark twists and turns. I thought I knew what would happen in this story and thought it was like most of the others of this genre. How wrong was I? knowing these two writers you have to expect the un expected and my god what a cliffhanger. I did not see that coming. I cannot wait for the conclusion of this story. Such wonderful characters bringing a breathtaking story to life.

    A dark mafia romance that grabs your attention right away. Although I found this to be entertaining I was little annoyed with the repetitive back and forth between Celia and Nicolo. Celia is an Italian mafia princess awaiting her arranged marriage to a Gabbelo when she’s abducted. Nicolo has it out for the five Italian families involved in the murder of his own and planning to use Celia for his vengeance. Ending on a cliffhanger I’m intrigued to see how Celia and Nicolos “love story” plays out.

    Well i didn't expect that ending. I was going rate this book 3 stars because Celia and how she thinks she can change Nic's mind. The whole book is about that which is a bit annoying. I expected a bit more plot. I gave it an extra star because of the surprise ending.

    This is a good story with plenty of hate in it . But there are some feelings as well that start to develop . Am sorry to say that it does drag out the auction a bit . It does seem to be missing something though . The end of the book we get a bit of intrigue as a cliff hanger . So I am presuming the second book is where all the action will take place.
