This book had a decent storyline and character, showing potential overall but I was extremely disappointed to find the book ending when I thought it had just begun. Due to the small number of pages in the book and the brevity of story provided I feel like this whole book is equal to one fifth of other books of the genre. And it is not due to a lack of description of people or places. This story has very little that happens in it. The series is nine books that probably could be put together to form 2-3 books total. The other books in the series are the same length roughly, all around 170 pages and for $2.99 I am not getting my money’s worth. I tried the first book since it was only $.99 and didn’t check how many pages there were. I’ve read better books that were much longer for $.99.

I like the two different protagonists in this story. A young woman who was being burnt and came alive with her witchcraft.
She is later helped in the woods she fled by a young man who is somewhat disabled but carrying and helps her.

Even though this is y the beginning of a new trilogy I didn't realise it followed the Brindle Dragon series I've really enjoyed it but think I'll go and read the Brindle Dragon series before finishing this one. I love th characters and the sarcastic humour of Tayir, so will look forward to finishing the series once I've read the prequel series

Love the character development in your books! You write them as real people who have fears and apprehensions about their choices! Good job!

A great start to a series. Storyline goes along at a good rate of development. The characters are developing well. Would have given 5 stars and probably will reassess that soon. I have just finished it and thinking about the book I realised that I will read it again soon . I am a bit slow on picking up nuances, so it's better when read twice. Recommended.
