Deciding she had put off becoming a writer long enough, PJ bought a new laptop, finished her MA degree, and started writing essays, short stories, and questionable poetry. Still, it was not until she began writing about Grant Gates and his secret underground brotherhood that she felt she had a real story to tell.

    This story is a sequel to The Fire Slayers by P.J.Braley. This story follows Timaeus, the child of Venzel and Destani, who now goes by Dr. Grant Gates. Following his species' plan of trying to continue their existence, a medical health spa is opened by their collective where Dr. Grant and his brothers are the doctors in charge.

    Caroline begins attending the spa and is assigned to Dr. Grant as a patient. Caroline is ready to make big changes for a new flame.

    Dr. Grant has many patients, but he doesn't start to break the rules until he meets Caroline. Caroline is different. Caroline is worth dying for.

    Caroline has to make a choice between following her heart or following her vows.

    This story left me wanting and needing more. P.J. Braley has a way of dragging you into the story. I look forward to her future works.

    I don't think it would have occurred to me to combine the two, but now I'll never be able to separate them. One of those books where certain sequences, scenes, will pop into mind at odd times for a very long time...
    Reminiscent of the Morlocks and Eloi, or a certain episode of Star Trek...

    The novel Finding Persephone is a masterfully written book and the perfect sequel to The Fire Slayers. P.J. Braley’s ability to seamlessly continue the captivating saga while delving even deeper truly shines through in Finding Persephone.

    Compared to the first book in the series, I felt this one placed more emphasis on the romance aspect. The romance scenes in the book strike a perfect balance, delivering a steamy and passionate connection between the characters without crossing into explicit or raunchy territory.

    Certain emotions portrayed in the story resonated deeply with my own experiences, forging a meaningful connection between the characters and myself.

    The author's rich and detailed descriptions painted the story vividly in my mind. Every aspect of the narrative came to life, making the entire experience truly immersive.

    The story had me completely engrossed, turning pages late into the night. I can't wait to explore more of this author's work.

    I'm eager to read more from this author.

    I just finished reading Finding Persephone, PJ Braley's second book. What a great follow up to The Fire Slayers! Watching the dreaded fire slayer Timaeus Tuzurias transition into the powerful and feared Dr. Grant Gates is quite a ride. Adding to this is his developing secret feelings for Caroline and his responsibility to protect his Lyostian brotherhood.

    The blend of science fiction and romance was awesome. I held my breath right up until the end watching Grant and Caroline's love blossom while hoping the brotherhood wouldn't catch on and destroy them both.

    If you enjoyed the romance between Venzel and Destani in The Fire Slayers while being introduced to the Lyostian Brotherhood and their alien culture you will love meeting Dr. Grant Gates as he continues the mission of protecting his brotherhood. Meeting and falling in love with Caroline is the icing on the cake!!

    Finding Persephone is not only really well written, but it's a totally unique storyline. Alien invasion meets an unexpected romance with high stakes. Each page kept me on my toes with the trickle of more backstory and details about the Lyotians and a great plot twist. It was hard knowing which characters to root for when two races are at stake! I enjoyed diving head first back into the brotherhood and the continuation of "Dr. Grant's" story. The ending leaves the perfect opening for more and I can't wait to read what comes next!
