About the author

Escape into addictive, sexy, emotional M/M romance.
A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana as an instructional coach/teacher in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing teens, and wondering how she and her husband of over two decades haven't driven each other insane yet. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking.
She loves chocolate, hot tea, sweet wine with friends, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.
A.D. uses she/they pronouns.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2021I really enjoyed this story of childhood bonds becoming hearts entwined. Quincy and Griffin are delightful, and the world would be a much better place if there were more people like Momma and Pops in it to raise kids right, with all the love and acceptance they need to flourish. Quincy and Griffin grow up together, grow better together, and love together, and will bring a smile to your lips and heart.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2022It was my first time reading a romantic gay novel. I almost dropped it. I was afraid it would feel like porn. But I was beyond surprised by how well the characters were written. The depth of their feelings and communication levels contributed to the success of their relationship. Q and G were both strong and vulnerable when it mattered. The intimate scenes were perfect. I’m really envious of their love story. They deserved their happy ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2019Forever Better Together is a coming of age, friends-to-lovers romance. Quincy and Griffin are pretty much opposites who fit together despite those differences. They bring out the best in each other. This book has all the feels and family in all its many forms is a major theme. Everyone needs a Momma and Pops in their life--people who love them unconditionally. I loved all the Disney quotes and references. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and urge you to read this book and all the rest written by the talented A.D. Ellis.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2019I enjoyed how kind and loving Quincy, Grif and all the supporting family was with one another. However, the only conflict being the growth of their relationship into something romantic was a bit flimsy. That was fine since I am not opposed to a low angst love story but as they focused on the differences in their personalities being an obstacle, I couldn't get past the glossing over of their racial differences.
In fact, it wasn't mentioned at all besides one reference to Grif's fairness and Quincy's darkness. We have a white child was raised by a black family resulting in an interracial relationship between adopted brothers. Racial difference isn't insurmountable but it certainly deserves recognition in the plot. Grif came from a traumatic, disadvantaged background while Quincy was comfortably wealthy but still as a gay young man of color he would face his own unique disadvantages in life. They would both be challenged by that racial difference as both family and romantic partners. It was glaringly avoided in a way that made the story much shallower than I was hoping.
Interracial MM pairings are so sparingly written that I was excited to dive into this but unfortunately was left underwhelmed.
I did enjoy the characterization of "Momma". Even without a physical description she felt comfortably relatable in a respectable if vaguely too perfect way. Enjoyable read for its sweetness but missed the mark on obvious opportunities for a little more depth.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2020Sweet sweet romance. Griffin and Quincy are related by adoption as Quincy's grandparents adopted Grif. They are raised as brothers ( but would be adoptive uncle/nephew) however there was no taboo element expressed. The boys formed a close bond as children that continued to evolve into more. They are a super cute and supportive couple. Their family is loving and supportive as well. I loved seeing Griffin come into his own, building confidence and finding success. No angst...just all about love, family, and a fairy tale ending. Overall 4.5 stars but bonus points for using Disney lines to drive their relationship...I learned more Disney lines reading this than raising 3 children! ❤

- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2023This book was so much more than I expected…from the love for Disney movies and their amazing quotes to the overwhelming joy at seeing these origami get together. I loved this whole story. So sweet with heartwarming and heart wrenching moments perfectly choreographed!!!!!
Dual 1st person POV
Spice at 4/5…it’s a slower burn but there is some unresolved tension that makes the smexy times worth the wait.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2019This is truly a sweet love story. I totally fell for Quincy, he was very mature and so kind hearted. Griffin broke my heart. From the 1st page these two just grabbed me. Truly a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars An emotionally sweet & steamy m/m read
Forever Better Together is an emotionally sweet & steamy m/m read.
It wasn’t at all what I expected but in the best possible way. It’s not like other steamy m/m romance’s. It’s got a lot more depth to it and I was pleasantly surprised.
You get to hear when they first met at 10 years old when Griff was placed with Quincy’s grandparents in foster care. The poor boy had been through so much trauma and at such a young age. He was fragile and timid and the story really pulled at my heartstrings and brought tears to my eyes.
Quincy soon took him under his wing and they became best of friends and eventually adopted brothers.
Q used to live with his grandparents too whilst his dad was overseas working however when they were older and his dad returned he moved with his dad, separating them both.
A few years pass before going to college and luckily they share a suite. Their feelings have always been high for each other but they’ve never admitted to having further feelings romantically to the other.
These two are so perfect together. Their story is a bit of a rollercoaster.
They are completely different with Q being into sports, action movies etc and Griff being into make up, hair, beauty, Disney movies etc. Complete opposite’s but work so well.
The story was emotional, sweet, funny, steamy. Their bond is amazing and the chemistry was great. I also loved all the little Disney Quotes!
If your looking for something a little bit different but with a great storyline and meaning behind it then this is definitely for you.
Looking forward to seeing what else this author has to offer.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring
Although this sounded so promising it was by far the most boring love story I’ve ever read. There is no excitement, no ups and downs, just a description of everyday life of a gay couple.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet love story
Sometimes it is great to read a story of love without angst or confrontation. This story is sweet and nicely told.

5.0 out of 5 stars adore A D Ellis books
Three box sets and this book in a row from A D Ellis and I can’t get enough every character is unique and complex as is their stories and I am left wanting to know more and more every single time. Zero repetition in any shape or form. Love getting to know these complex beautiful souls that each and every one of them has me cheering them on to their happily ever afters, watching them build lives, families by blood or chosen, and working through their own life issues has me captivated and find myself hard pressed to put my kindle down. Thanks for another awesome happy ever after.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sweet
This is a very sweet story. Very romantic. But there were times when I couldn't tell who's voice I was hearing in each chapter, to say it was first person pov.
