Get from point A to point B. Stick to the mapped-out route and take shelter at the pre-planned times. It sounds simple enough, now if only we’d factored in getting attacked by djinn and having to take a detour through The Wilds.

    For the Power is the second book in Cassidy’s For the Blood series and it is amazing. It picks up where the first book leaves off with Eva and the guys on their quest for the cure. The suspense and anticipation build further in this story and includes some interesting twists and turns along the way. There is a natural feel to the storyline and the characters that keep you engaged from the constant snarky banter between Eva and Logan, the hesitant interactions between her and Jace and her deepening relationship with Ash, and we also get introduced to some new characters that help Eva along the way and who become an intricate part of her journey. The multiple relationship drama will keep you guessing as to the state of Eva’s involvement with each of the guys, individually and as a whole and it is nice to see the several personal and group issues that have to be dealt with and overcome. It helps to make the characters feel more real and to be more relatable. We are also provided a more in depth look at Eva’s background and more detailed information on the Feral and Claws and other creatures that go bump in the night (and day!). Plenty surprises abound in this book and I am looking forward to seeing how it all is wrapped up in the final installment. It was just fantastic and I am ready for more!

For the Blood was such an amazing book and somehow Debbie managed to top it- For the Power is even better, full of explosive adventure and passion, I couldn’t put it down! I absolutely love everything about this story. The violence, the darkness, the heat, but also the heart and soul and love.

    I said it about For the Blood, but I’ll say it again, Eva is my favorite kind of heroine. She’s strong and brave and makes the tough decisions. She’s a beautiful and tormented soul, and I can completely see how all these amazing men are falling at her feet.

    With lots of new twists and turns, I cannot wait to see how everything plays out!

    Debbie has never failed to impress me! I absolutely LOVED For the Blood and For the Power lived up to its predecessor! Eva is fatally becoming one of my favorite of Cassidy’s characters! She’s strong, willing to do what needs to be done to save everyone, and willing to overcome! Logan, Ash, and Jace are swoon worthy to say the least!
    Cassidy has always been one of my absolute favorite world builders. I know if I’m picking up one of her books then it will be one heck of an amazing story, world, and the characters will be next level! These books have proven she still has all of that!

    I just can't stand the fact she let Logan do what he did after treating her like crap. Why do women in these books still go for these type of guys? "Oh he's troubled and it's okay just give him a chance. It's fine if he treats you like crap." Also the same issue of who exactly is gonna be her men like all the other books by this author. Upwards of 10 males like the FMC, have slept wjth her or at least kissed her and she doesn't even end up with all of them. Most likely I'm seeing her with up to 7 guys but more than likely it will be only 5. Since Noah isn't really around, he may not be apart of this and Jace isn't really trying to get close to her but may be interested in Kira? Idk but I'm assuming it will end up being 4-5 guys tops. Still annoying when it isn't as obvious.

    For the Power is book 2 of the For the Blood series. I love the unusual premise for the storyline-- Eve is one of the few humans in a post-apocalyptic world who has untainted blood. She makes a bargain with 3 Fangs (vampires) to provide her blood in exchange for their help on a quest. These are such great characters! I love the interactions and relationships, and the addition of a djinn, adds some spicy possibilities. Good forward progression in the storyline, with a terrific reveal, which explains a few things. Can't wait for book 3.

    Wow, I feel like I’ve been hit by a 2” x 4”! So much happened in the later stages of the book that I can’t remember what happened at the beginning!

    Eva finally works out what the key is that her father gave her. It’s instructions of where to the cure for the virus. From the bunker that the Fangs have been living in they have the passcodes to get into several more bunkers en route to the location of the cure so they set out to find it.

    This epic journey mirrors many of the others that have appeared in Fantasy, Urban Fantasy and Dystopian novels time and time again. It’s utilised so often because it’s a formula that works. A journey takes them into contact with new people, they change locations to come up against new challenging landscapes and dangerous situations and spending time together so closely, in a state of jeopardy, bonds the group together. This formula works in this book, particularly well.

    We learn more about Eva in this book as she struggles with the feelings she is developing for some of the people she has met since losing Tobias. She’s conflicted, but as someone points out to her, the landscape of love has changed with the falling numbers of women, compared to men. Plus a single pairing is much more common in human culture than it is in supernatural culture. In this book we see the Reverse Harem start to slowly build.

    This is an exceptional series, that I am enjoying tremendously and I’m particularly enjoying the very British swearing!
