Sweet/ wholesome MM love story. Easy reading introduction to the Ridgemont University gay romance series. No explicit content. Focus on slow burn true love story and character building.
Simon Northbrook has the smarts, looks, and he is an excellent journalist for Ridgemont University’s
Weekly paper. But Simon’s perfectionist nature hides a deep need to be loved and appreciated. Specifically by Ian Peters, his unbearably gorgeous editor. When Simon’s friend Zuko disappears, Simon’s investigation soon reveals that he is on the brink of a scandal that will rock the entire university. Will Simon let down his guard to work with Ian and solve the mystery, or will his fear of love stand in his way?

Flirty, fun, and above all sweetly romantic, the exciting new
Ridgemont University series follows the exploits of m/m college students. Full of character-driven drama and suspense, and a healthy dose of romance and comedy, the boys of Ridgemont University are sure to steal your heart.

Hot Off the Press is a slow burn m/m contemporary college romance novel set in the fictional Ridgemont University. It has lots of flirtation and character development, medium angst, a little bit of heat, and a happily-ever-after ending.

Meredith Taylor loves a good book. She's dreamed about being a writer forever, and sweet, romantic stories are what make her happiest. She loves going on new adventures and having cocktails with friends. She writes the Ridgemont University series.

The Ridgemont University series follows the MM/ gay romances of students at the fictional Ridgemont University in Cape Town, South Africa. The books are crammed full of flirty, fun and sweet romantic moments and complex characters that will make you care about them deeply (and maybe even have them tug at your heartstrings). The romances are organic and

realistic, and even though the books are mostly light reading, they have enough substance for you to really dig into and think about long after you turn the last page. Give Ridgemont University a try; the boys might just steal your heart.

Loved this story - working through his uncertainties as Simon tries to achieve his goals, not just in journalism, but in love as well. Helping his friend to break free of homophobia and then to have his story taken from him. But true live shines through. Beautifully written

I will admit I had a hard time getting through this book. I just could not get comfortable with Simon throughout the first 60% of the book. There were times I wished Ian would just kiss and and strip him naked. His character development as well as the progress of the relationship was glacierly slow. Mind you this was not an accident on the author's part; as I found out in the latter 40% of the book she was writing exactly as she wished. And by the end of the book I was more than satisfied I was in tears. Well done Ms. Taylor. Will definitely continue with this series. I might just learn a bit of patience if any other of her books are slow developers... or not!

I don't really know what to say about this one. The story in general wasn't that bad. But, this could have been better a short story. I don't know how I managed to end this, because one of the characters frustrated me so much. I fell like some times the story go for so long, then it was rushed. I liked how the author write, so I guess that's reason why I actually end the book.

I stopped reading this book to write this review before finishing because I just couldn't hold it in anymore. Let me just say that there was potential here for a good story hence the two star rating, unfortunately it was overshadowed by the most annoying character in any book I have ever read. A character who has the intelligence and skill to be an excellent reporter yet can't seem to be able to see what is right I front of him. A character who comes across as so emotionally pathetic that it stretches and breaks the limits of believability. I tried to enjoy the book, and intend to finish reading it because I'm just to stubborn to give up, but advice to the writer - Don't do this again please.
    Update:
As promised I did go on to read the remainder of the book. Since others reviews have given away far more than I have, I will say that the character I question did finally go on to finally grow a pair, but far to late in the book to make it enjoyable. His epiphany felt almost like an afterthought.

Great book to read. I liked the story line very much where it exposed the fact that there is different ways for being around bullies does not mean we have to let it slide. It was a great way to show there is others who make true friends that help.

Omg I kinda wanted to hit Simon over the head with a stick a few times during the book. His hot and cold was just driving me crazy. And it seemed like there was a lot going on with Ian that was never elaborated on. Well written though even if Simon sucked as a character.

I love this story and it’s characters also read second chances and I love what you have done with Ian and Simon and I can’t wait to find out what happens next thank you Meredith Taylor I hope you will be writing about them again soon and about Olivia and Justin as well

I was looking for a non-XX-rated gay novel when I found "Hot off the Press". Unfortunately, it was a torturous read. Very amateurish writing. This was supposed to be a university-level story but came across as more middle school. I stumbled through to the end just to see if it would redeem itself, but there are other books in the Kindle Store. Sorry, Ms. Taylor.

I have some appreciation for a good story as I read upwards of 30 novels a year.
