Howl And Growl: Wolf And Cat Shifter Paranormal Romance (Howl And Growl Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
Amara: I can’t believe this big arrogant wolf has ventured into Pride territory.
How dare he? Why is he here?
He crossed paths with the wrong Cougar.
Even if he is all kinds of sexy in human form.
I wanted to kill him…
…now I want to love him.
Darius: Whoa! A cougar pounced on me from a tree branch.
No female has ever fought me before.
She can’t beat me, but I sure am enjoying this fight.
Then she turned into a beautiful naked woman.
It is forbidden to mate with a Cat, but…
…I will have this feisty Cougar even if it means losing my life.
Can Pack and Pride fight together against the coming Vampire attack?

- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2018Darius, a wolf shifter, meets a cat shifter name Amara to overcome their hatred for each other and save their people from being overtaken by a vampire and his minions. In the meantime Darius and Amara have fallen in love and mates. But is there hope for them when they have been enemies for so long.
This fast-paced drama keep the reader on the edge of their seat, especially the battle scenes and the alphas fight to the death scene. The personalities of the main characters are relatable, sometimes funny, and create an understanding of the human's side of shifters.
I would highly recommend this book to readers that want a book both enjoyable and fast-paced. I hope that there is another book that is a sequel to this one. I would buy that book.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2018First and foremost for me is always the author's writing style, how well they are getting the story across and is there fluidity to the story moving it forward in a smooth style. I love her (Close Cullen's) writing style! Secondly you virtually feel the chemistry of the two main characters Darius(wolf shifter) and Amara(cougar shifter). It had just enough action/adventure to keep my interest without feeling like I was reading a war book. Once I started reading I didn't want to put it down.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series but in the meantime I'm going to read "Dragon's Jewel" also by Ms Cullen.
I did receive a copy of this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2018I enjoyed this book, it was refreshingly different from other PNR books I have read and it kept my attention until the end. The characters kept me guessing on what they were thinking and how they were going to move forward and the story flowed seamlessly. I loved the romance was settle and didn't interfere with the focus of the story.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves shifter romances and adventures.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2019Can two vastly different shifter factions learn to work together to save both groups? There's plenty of action, romance and intrigue to make this book worth reading. There's also an underlying theme throughout the story - we are all stronger together. I'm looking forward to reading more about these characters.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2020I began to read this book thinking I might read for an hour and finish it the next day. I read the whole story in one night. I could not put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2018The thought of wolves and cougars becoming allies is a new one. Normally you read about feuds and all out wars. On the other hand an insane vampire would unite most packs and clan , then add mates and you've got a hit
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2018This is a very good story. There is a secret that will take a bit to unravel. You will find some mystery, great action, strength of character, some unexpected elements, and, yup, HEA.
The outcast of the pack was the best tracker they had. Darius had no idea why he was shunned and hated by his pack. He was a large wolf but that is not strange; there were a couple little differences but nothing to cause being ostracized. Even though his Alpha’s hatred could turn fatal with the right enticement his son, Remus, was Darius’ best friend. His father, Gavriel, would comment occasionally that his mother would be proud of him - another mystery because his mother was never around.
The Pack’s territory is separated from their long established enemy, the Pride, by a river. The Pack’s side the Oldwood forest is a green old forest heavy with mist. The other side of the river the Oldwood changes into the Pride’s land called Red Rock – arid and hot with rock formations. The law of both sides was death to any that crossed to the other side.
Amara, daughter and only child of the Pride’s Alpha, is not happy with “the fools” who keep coming onto her at the party. After a little aggressive persuasion she manages to free herself from a drunken nuisance.
Ramus asks Darius to join his hunting party to look for missing wolves. The search takes them to the river where they picked up the wolves sent and something else – not cat - Changelings. Darius tells Remus to go back and get more help while he crosses over and continue searching.
While collecting various herbs in the forest Amara stopped for a drink at the river when she noticed the lack of normal, natural sounds. She climbs a branch then sees a wolf walk under the branch. She pounces on Darius. They have a good fight until Darius manages to hold her down. He explains why he is in her territory. They hear screaming; running towards the sound they come on a scene with changelings about to attack two cubs huddled under a tree. The changelings are killed, the cubs saved, and a deranged vampire escapes promising to return to tear them apart.
There is an attraction between Amara and Darius, but would such a joining be possible? With the escape of the vampire both Pack and Pride are in danger of being wiped out. It is not going to be easy to convince either side that the only way to survive would be to work together - not with generations of distrust and hate, and two stubborn alphas.
How can you tell a changeling from a normal wolf?
What clan did the Vampires conquer?
How was Darius different than others in his pack?
What was the secret Sarai told Amara?
Interesting questions that weave a well told story that will keep your interest right to the end.
I received this book as an ARC member and I’m giving an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2018Amara, a cat shifter, encounters Darius, a wolf shifter, when he travels into pride territory looking for some lost pack mates. As the story progresses old feuds create strife, myths and rumors turn to truth and a common enemy unites them. Cloe Cullen created a nice world for shifters and vampires to cavort and battle in.
