Suspense, drama, and passion follow them from the capital to his idyllic Caribbean hideout, as they struggle to reconcile their mutual desire with the deep emotional scars they bear.

Alex is quickly dragged back into her worst nightmare, where she has to fight for what she desires, and her very survival.

Review

5* - "This woman has a knack for belting out masterpieces and making you fall hard for her books and this one is no different. It's hard to read especially with all the domestic violence but her putting this into her book was vital, CJ did it tastefully and I haven't read a book that has hit me in the heart for so long." - Two Bookish Brits

5* - "This latest release although darker than I've read before from her, was refreshing and suspense filled. An amazing story from an incredible author. She just keeps astounding me with every release." -
Ladies Living in Bookland

5* - "This book is a rollercoaster of emotions. It made me cry and laugh, it made me angry and heartbroken, it made me swoon and fall in love. It's one of those books that you couldn't put down and when you close it, it leaves you with a book-hangover." -
Jewel Book Lover

5* - "Just one word sums up Inescapable in a nutshell....WOW! This book shook me to my core, I didn't know or even understand how this book would affect me." -
Cara's Book Boudoir

5* - "CJ Fallowfield has created a masterpiece. This story is about going from weak, defenceless victim, to survivor. Standing up and being unafraid to look your abuser in the eye and say 'no more.'" -

    Inescapable
    By: C.J. Fallowfield
    5 out of 5 stars

The story Inescapable by C.J. Fallowfield is an erotica/suspense book. It is a story that is intense and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had read the final page. It has scenes that had me on the edge of my seat and others gave me that warm feeling when reading about two people falling in love. The two main characters of Alex and Tate are ones that I fell in love after reading about the very first time that they met. Angry and sad is how I felt when reading about Alex and her past. She shows herself to be a strong, amazing woman whose story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Tate is a man that doesn’t understand why he is so drawn to Alex however from the first time they meet he has an overwhelming need to protect her. The attraction and chemistry between these two is off the charts. There are plenty of steamy scenes between them. Get ready for the temperature in the room to rise. Will these two find happiness together and get an HEA? Read this story to find out. There are other characters that I enjoyed reading about in this book. The mood of the story does feel a bit lighter when these characters and Alex interact. This is the first book that I have read by the author and it will not be the last. This is a story with characters that you will not soon forget. I look forward to reading other books that the author has written as well as what she writes next. This story does include scenes of domestic violence and would be recommended for a mature audience.

C.J. Fallowfield was a “new to me” author. I thought I’d take a chance and read one of her books to just check out her writing. Man oh man am I ever glad I did!!! “Inescapable” is one of my top 10 books that I’ve read this year! It is well written, well thought out, the plot is well developed, and while the domestic violence could turn off some I felt C.J. handled it extremely well. It was an integral part of the story. While I certainly don’t relish descriptions of cruelty to people and/or animals the author gave a just enough to help us understand the depth of Izzie’s desire to be free from Richard King. Also, the abuse that was perpetrated on Isabelle helped me to see how fragile she was and how she was a kindred spirit with Tate and his loss. These two characters were so perfectly fitted to each other. I kept wondering how Alex, as she was now known after leaving Richard, could resist Tate’s advances. I think I might have just thrown in the towel and gone with it. LOL. I can think of no reason to not recommend “Inescapable” wholeheartedly. It’s a beautiful story with SOO many good feels and I am very, VERY glad that I have found Ms. Fallowfield’s writings. I will be reading MORE very soon!!

Firstly let me start by saying I really enjoyed this book.

In the interests of total honesty I did struggle early on. Now you could argue that the beginning is just the means to the end. It introduces the characters and gets the story where it needs to be.
And that’s true but the first meeting between Izzie and Richard had me cringing and it just didn’t sit right with me. But I am a picky, hard to please reader so it’s probably just me.

The rest of the book is fabulous. Although I would have preferred a little more at the end. Like I said picky reader.

Once I’d settled in I throughly enjoyed it.

Lizzie/Alex deserves to be happy and she gets her chance with rich, handsome and simply amazing Tate Castle. With everything Alex has been through it takes awhile for her to trust again but Tate is so patient and adorable.

Tom and Janice are the kooky assistants. They add humour and a touch of light craziness to balance out heavier side.

‘He could swoop in and acquire me any day,’ Janice nodded.
‘I’d even consider sharing him with you,’ Tom added, throwing her a high five. ‘At the same time, and you know how much the thought of pussy traumatises me, let alone the possibility of seeing it. Pussy roadkill would be a more apt description of that part of a woman’s anatomy.’
‘Mine’s not roadkill, thank you very much. I’ve been told it’s very pretty.’
    ‘Who by? Stevie Wonder?’

    *gulps*

    *wipes eyes*

    I need a stiff one!

    *snorts*

    Whaaa?

Minds out of the gutter please - I meant a stiff drink *smirks* No, seriously! I need something to settle my nerves. Frayed springs to mind.

C.J. has done it again. One minute I’m like ‘whoa’, the next ‘bleep-da-bleep’, and then ‘awww’. So consumed by the story, I was scared to turn the page for fear of what was going to happen next, and at the same time wishing I could read faster. What can I say? I’m a special kind of twisted *shrugs*

We can’t escape our past, but at the same time, I’m a firm believer that we mustn’t let it define us. There’s no question that ‘life’ leaves its indelible mark; Alex and Tate can attest to this fact. Their individual stories spoke to me in very different ways. I had to pull on my big girl panties for some of it, but pull them on I did. Wedgie anyone?

For me, this is what romantic suspense is all about. Where your stomach flips with the tension - not just that kind of tension *winks* You know what I mean...? And, you have full on conversations with your kindle screen as if the characters can hear you. Or is that just me?

Trust is almost an anathema to Alex and Tate. Never mind bringing the concept of love into the equation.

“Love by its very nature is terrifying. It’s about trusting your heart, and taking a leap of faith and hoping that they jump with you.”

    Cryptic enough for you?

Come on, and take that leap yourself. Alex, Tate, et al. are waiting for you when you do...

<This is me staring blankly at the screen trying to figure out how I could possibly do this book the justice it deserves- because I don’t think I can, it’s just that good>

There has to be a way to give a book more than a 5 Star rating, because this book deserves more!!

Wow… Wow….Wow!!! Inescapable is a heart shattering, exceptional page turner by C.J Fallowfield. This is my first book from this author, and what a phenomenal introduction! I will be limbering up my ‘one-click’ finger and going on a C.J Fallowfield book buying binge ASAP, and devouring everything I can get my hands on. This story had me gripped so tightly in it’s clasp, squeezing me, making me gasp one minute from the horrific details that were shocking my senses- then making me grin like an idiot or laughing out loud in the next moment because of the funny banter or antics happening on the page. Yes, this story was emotionally charged, and showcased some incredibly horrific and shattering situations that made my heart and head hurt- but I loved every gripping detail and every unforgettable moment!!
Ms. Fallowfield writes such complex, slightly quirky, and all too endearing characters (well except for the deranged villain- but evoking hate is also a sign of a brilliant author). I couldn’t help but adore them from the get-go and form a one-person cheer squad, cheering them on every step of the way. Yes, I’ll admit that I was completely attached to Alex and Tate (and the rest of the cast)- and their journey. The secondary characters were some of the best supporting cast that I have ever met- they really help elevate this story into the exceptional piece of work that it is. Tom with his TMI, funny banter and quips was just hilarious- I loved him so hard! Then Sharon, Janice, Ester, Dawn, and Sarah all made their impression on me, too. Rosie completely melted my heart <sigh> she’s just so delightful.
The story is superbly crafted- intense, sexy and multi-layered. All the elements were molded into a smooth and well-balanced story that had me in a page flipping frenzy to follow what was happening. I couldn’t put it down and demolished the book in an afternoon.
    Incredible!
I can’t wait to read more of Ms. Fallowfields work!

    Thank you, Ms. Fallowfield!

Oh, my word! Where do I begin with this amazing book? C.J. Fallowfield always captivates with her writing, and from the first few pages of Inescapable I was gripped, reading well into the night and not able to put my kindle down. I love an erotic suspense and this doesn’t disappoint and although there is domestic violence, C.J tackles it head-on with such passion and sensitivity you feel every ounce of tension, every brutal moment, your anger growing with the lead characters strength.
The predator is pure evil, but his character development is pure genius! On the other hand, Castle, our hero is utterly delicious. Mmm, wrap him up and send him to me first-class; he is the perfect mix of soft and extremely hard :) Together this couple are perfect, but like many other reviewers have mentioned before me, Ms. Fallowfield always manages to create believable characters you can relate to, and fall in love with.
I cannot express enough how much you need to read this book – your only qualm will be nearing the end and wishing you were just beginning this beautiful love story, all over again, about a woman who took a leap of faith with a stranger who offered her protection.

This book is soooooo amazing. The mind EXPLODES with all the feels that this book initiates. It's more intense and has a dark undertone.

The desperation, panic and torturous journey of a wounded survivor rips your heart out but the patience of a good kind loving man that undoes all the damage and soothes your soul.

There are more plot twists and turns that you just don't see coming.

Best ever book CJ, Best ever - and you know how I feel about Logan Steele.
