Author's note: book one in this series, Bound To The Admiral, was first released in October 2019, long before COVID raised its ugly head. The entire series had been planned before the first book came out.
The solution to the pandemic on Devmaer depends on prompt government action along with international cooperation. As such, it's evident the series was not an attempt to capitalize on a devastating tragedy.

    Bound to the Sheriff is that marvel of a book – 3rd in a series that moves the overall story forward and yet is a fabulous standalone. The main plot is about Falk (short for Falcon) and Takyu. Falk is tall and handsome; his dominance, swagger and confidence are innate to him. His kindness and humor are wonderful surprises especially considering his past and his career. Takyu is a young woman who has dutifully lived her life as required – doing everything she could for the other mesa Dwellers even though never fully accepted by them. Yet she has retained her somewhat rebellious and humorous core nature. Takyu doesn’t realize how beautiful, smart or special she is. She has glimpsed Falk on her previous trips to the market but she is a surprise to him. They each see something desirable in the other but Takyu is afraid he is a jerk and Falk is afraid she is another con. She witnesses a serious crime and Sheriff Falk insists she cooperates with the investigation. These intelligent people are hesitant to act on the undeniable attraction to each other but the Fates know what they’re doing.
    I found this story fascinating. It is fast paced and creatively written. That Ms. Campbell continues to add to the layers of this world she has created until we can see, smell and touch it, is simply magic. Falk and Takyu’s romantic and very sexy relationship grows before the reader’s eyes and each new discovery between the lovers is a delight. She learns to accept his dominance in more ways than one and yet she thrives under it and blooms into the full woman she was created to be as their love deepens. Warning: this couple is hot! The crime investigation is a twisted and complex plot that uncovers a great deal about the country of Silvelea that we’ve heard frightening things about in the previous books. The appearances of favorite characters from the previous books are well done and their original voices remain strong and clear as they integrate seamlessly into this story. While totally satisfied with the ending of Bound to the Sheriff, I’m already eager for book 4! Yes, it was that good!

    I have just finished this book and now am impatiently waiting for the next book in this terrific series - I hope there will be a next book. This book can be read alone, and I believe the reader would find it to be very enjoyable. Having said that, I think the reader will get even more enjoyment out of the story if they read the previous books first.
    This series takes place on a planet far away and way into the future. This is a love story forged between two very strong people. Tayku, an orphan girl child was raised by a group of people called Mesa Dwellers. They took her in and raised her to adulthood, but she remained a second class citizen in their ways. Doing what she can to be helpful to those who rescued her and are currently sick with Waking Sickness, she goes to the closest market which is a very lawless town by all measures. Then, circumstances bring her into contact with the Sherriff Falk. Falk and Tayku meet - sparks fly and rumps get roasted (for lack of a better term) and love grows. I love the attraction between Sherriff Falk and Tayku. Both are very strong individuals who are instantly attracted to each other. Falk had his heart broken in the past and had promised himself never to love like that again, and Tayku who never really knew what love was like. This story is filled with intrigue, mystery and action and it continues to build nicely from the first books in the series. It leaves you anticipating as to what will come next. This is a very professionally written story and I look forward to the next book in the series.

    This book can be read as a standalone but the characters from the previous books appear here. This is the first book I've read of this author, and while I don't know if I'll read more from her just going by her name alone, I do know that she's definitely on my radar now. This book wasn't what I expected, but it didn't disappoint. The perfect balance between erotic scenes and plot to keep you interested. The erotic scenes were incredibly steamy but with enough space between each one so that it didn't became repetitive or boring.

    Takyu has an important mission and people depend on her success. She's gone to the market several times now, but this time is different. This time she's alone. When she finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time and is witness to a crime, her mission is sidetracked by the wheels of justice. Being the only eyewitness that Can save the other woman from a horrible fate forces her to testify and give up her cover. What she didn't expect was the sheriff being so magnetic and making her comply to his orders by all means necessary. Sheriff Falk hasn't been with anyone since his partner died. When he looks at the old woman with the young eyes, he knows he's found his mate. He will go to extreme measures to keep her safe, even if that means protecting her from herself. Her life was quiet before she met him, now her adventure has just began.

    What an enjoyable series this has been...right from Bound to the past, it has everything you would love in a series. From adventure, suspense, brilliant characters and a happy ever after ending. A must read for all fantasy readers.
