- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2023Format: KindleVerified PurchaseClare Lydon continues to astound me with her style and never ending humor and sensitivity. I shared pages of this one with my sister as I was howling in laughter, and she joined me! With tears in my eyes and great guffaws I read passages. Honestly, she is an extraordinary writer. The charm and candor can not be overlooked. She developed such rich and colorful characters and pits them together effortlessly. The story is not contrived but rather just real everyday folks going on with a few situations that not everyone faces. The trials are faced and overcome graciously often with humor giving strength to the characters. With the class of the supporting cast of characters Ms Lydon creates she can’t go wrong. Start to finish I loved this book!

- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI so enjoy reading Ms. Lydon’s London love series! Each one better than the last, they welcome even me, an American, into their circle of lovers, friends and family! London, Actually was especially touching to me. The theme of allowing love in, even when you’ve been hurt before, even when the odds seem against you, and even when logic and reason no longer seem applicable, ring true in my life. My wife gave up her job, and her Brooklyn apartment. I gave up on pretending to be straight. Like Cleo and Becca, we learned that as long as you have love, all the rest is just details.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2018Format: KindleThe fifth book in Clare Lydon's London Romance series is just as charming and sexy as the first four. In this one, you've got a bit of an age gap between the two main characters, Cleo and Becca, but it works because of their connection. Since I am a boss myself, I sometimes had a difficult time sympathizing with Cleo's choice to act on her romantic feelings for her employee. But ultimately the romantic feelings were mutual and Becca wasn't treated differently (either positively or negatively) as a result of the relationship. I was a big fan of Tracey and Heidi, the best friends of the main character and am happy to learn that Heidi will get her own story. I really liked the side story of Cleo being their for Heidi during her pregnancy. Cleo's brother was incredibly annoying, but having two brothers myself, I know that's often how brothers really are, ha ha. Overall, the story played out like a romantic comedy and I enjoyed it. Things sometimes wrap up a little too neatly in romantic comedies, but isn't that why we prefer them to real life? Happiness and love are easier to find and that's why we love to read them. And I love a Clare Lydon romance novel.
Also so fun to catch up with some of the characters from the previous books in the series, including a wedding!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI’m always a big fan of the London Romance series because when life gets tough, there is anything better than British humor, happy ending and a group of funny friends. Clare Lydon is one of the authors who possess a skill to create a real-life three dimensions characters. All characters are distinguished and cannot mistake them to one another. And in London, Actually, I am surprised how much she can improve in every book she publishes.
In this book, starting with two characters who are so different. Becca, a young optimistic 23-year-old, who believe in love and is ready to begin her adult life, versus Cleo, a divorce 39-year-old, who is scared to heartbroken and uses all energy with everything but love.
In all romance books, I expect a story how characteristic will go from point A to point B and get together at the end of the book. But Clare Lydon gives me more than that. I see the external journey that Becca and Cleo go through their jobs at the event department, which gives me an opportunity to see that the event organizer works rather than just meaningless mention characters’ jobs titles. And the internal journey, it teaches me that we can always grow and learn new things no matter who old we are. I like that Cleo has learns not to be afraid to lean on other people.
Whenever life is mess up, just read Chapter 38.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a fantastic story with emotional impact
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI have read this book in a day as couldn't put it down, it was beautifully written and following the story and the challenged Cleo and Becca faced in the name of love and attraction was an emotional story, it comes as no surprise the brilliance of the book where Clare is concerned. I absolutely love it and still have the next book to read but slowly spreading my reading out before it all comes to an end. This London series has been an enjoyable journey what I really like is how the characters from one of the previous books make a cameo appearance and it's keeping them in the forefront of my mind, whether this continues through the series I don't know as I am reading the books in order, but when the series I think my heart will be broken, I've grown so attached to characters which doesn't usually happen to Mez but in all Clare's books I feel the same I get so attached and can actually feel emotions during my reading experience. I hope Clare will continue to bring us new books as I will completely miss them if they ever stopped.
I know I'm a drama queen :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fantastic addition to the London Series by Clare Lydon.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAnother fantastic addition to the London Series by Clare Lydon.
Clio is finally over the disaster that was her marriage when she meets Becca at a family friends wedding. Becca is smart, feisty and incredibly beautiful with her funky style and fun personality. They share a kiss but Clio thinks Becca is too young so she puts it down to a moment of madness and moves on. That is, until one of her new intern turns out to be… Becca.
They try to hide their growing feelings but it’s undeniable and the sexual chemistry is clear but for Clio, between the age difference and working together, there are just too many reasons for them not to work out.
What a fantastic story. Loved it! If you are a subscriber to my reviews you will know I love work romances but I love Age-gap romances even more.
Becca made me swoon big time. She was amazing and I couldn’t understand how Clio could resist her… like the girl has some serious restraint. The chemistry between these two is evident from the moment they meet. There were moments the tension between both Becca and Clio is so palpable I thought they might combust if they didn’t jump each other. The sex scenes (as with most Clare Lydon books) were extremely hot and left me blushing… I love when authors make me blush.
Best part of any Clare Lydon book, and this book is no acceptation, is the British banter and comedy that is laced all the way through. I can’t wait for the next London book!!
