A riveting tale of family, love, and betrayal.
Left jilted at the altar by his bride, Rory MacLeod, the Duke of Skye and chief of the MacLeod clan finds himself becoming the subject of unsavory gossip. Marriage to a respectable young lady of impeccable breeding is the only way Rory can hope to silence the gossips. Licking his wounds, he returns to London for the upcoming session of Parliament and Season. He brings with him his sister Lily. It will be her first season and one which Rory intends to find a bride of his own. He doesn't have to look far.
Victoria, the Duke of Hargrove's daughter, catches more than his eye the moment he meets her. She is everything his duchess needs to be. She is smart, beautiful and devoted to Rory. Not even his darkest secret can sway her. The bliss of married life is ripped apart by betrayal of the worst kind. His sister is kidnapped and forced into a marriage with only one purpose. Money. Even worse is who is behind it all.
With his own reputation and that of his family and clan at stake, Rory must carefully negotiate his sister's return without the world finding out about his secret. Not only could it bring shame to everyone he holds dear, it would mean his ruination and worse.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2019Visiting the Macleod’s again, didn’t let me down. I love the characters and the passion they have with and towards one another. Rory, still coming to terms with his fiancé leaving him, without any word as to why and knowing that there are always ones that have to gossip about such things. Knowing that his sister needs to be presented for the season and he needs a bride, they set out for London. From there on things get very interesting. The excitement of everything that they go through and how they deal with all that is thrown at them is amazing. There is passion and love and suspense, all that made me fall in love with the Macleod males all over again.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2022I am really enjoying this series. I like the way we actually have a chance to see into the lives of the couple after they are wed. So many of this style novel concerns all the back-and-forth & back-and-forth getting the couple together. But it is wonderful to be able to see into their married lives and what their future may hold.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2022Quite the steamy Scottish story. Secrets abound and dramas unfold. A story that keeps the pages of this book turning. Can’t wait to read more of Rory and his family’s story.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2019Loved the story and the true love Rory found! His secret revealed to his love and the realization that he had never been able to experience love with a woman!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2018Rory is left at the altar by his bride. He is seeking a bride to help end the gossip and shame. His sister Lily is kidnapped and forced to marry for money. Victoria is the Duke of Hargrove's daughter and the perfect match for Rory. Will a betrayal tear their marriage apart? How will Rory get Lily back without revealing his own secret? An interesting read.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2022This book is a mish mash of sex scenes, a gay relationship secret, and typos! Its uneven, has multiple plot errors and was honestly a waste of time.
