POISON (Shifter Kings Nashville Book 5) Kindle Edition

4.9 4.9 out of 5 stars 36 ratings

He’s a bad boy with a past he can’t shake.
She’s a good girl who’s sick of drawing the short straw.
They’re obviously a match made in shifter heaven—if only she can forgive his heartbreaker history.

Two months ago, Poison Yaeger had the best night of his life—then he ran. Now, he’s set to be king of the wolves and, the once bad boy knows whom he wants as his queen … the same woman he left alone in bed two months earlier.

Callie Hartwood, better known as Doc has always done the “right” thing. Being kidnapped changes a girl, though, and she makes a promise to herself. Her vow: She's done being a good girl. She's not a dog to be praised for rolling over. She’s a puma shifter. She’s got claws. And she’s no longer afraid to use them.

She’s going to be bad.

And Poison wants to show her how. His lessons, however, aren’t just for fun. He intends to win his queen, and he wants Callie to know that he may be a bad boy, but he’s the only man for her.

A good girl + a bad boy + a psycho witch + sexy kings + sassy queens (phew!) = a Shifter Kings Nashville finale to remember!

Warning: Sassy, sexy, sweet, and angsty novella-length series finale! (Don't worry, L.A. is next …)

Loved this one as I have al the others in this series. Callie and I have both been in the same place emotionally so it’s always nice to connected with a female protagonist.

What a great way to end a series, especially one as good as this one. Do yourself a favor and read the whole series. You won't regret it.

Fifth book of an interesting series. I haven’t read any of the others but I was able to follow and very much enjoy the series. It will spoil some of the stories when I go back and read the others but not that much. Poison is definitely an interesting name and even he isn’t sure why he was named it. He is a shifter and likes the ladies. Callie was a friend when growing up but one night may just destroy that friendship. There is an evil that will destroy so much and Callie will feel it directly. Can she survive and can all the shifters, witches and vampires stop it?

This is my favorite book out of all the Kings of Nashville. Poison knew that Wolf didn’t want to be king so as the younger brother and runner up that fell on his shoulders. Callie and Poison were best friends and one night they took it to the next level and Poison bolted. Shy, reserved and good girl Callie hardened her heart against Poison when he ghosted her. Fast forward Callie is kidnapped and tortured by a lunatic of witch and Poison doesn’t leave her bedside. Some misunderstandings are brought to light and turns out that communication would have solved some of their problems. I love how Callie is scrappy and stands up to Poison. I’m sad to be leaving Nashville behind but I can’t wait for LA!

Holly Gunn brings us another fun, fast paced, short, and sexy read in Poison.

Get to know Poison and his Queen, Callie. We've met him in previous books, and in Wolf we discovered that he's the Runner-up for Wolf King. As his older brother has no desire to be King, Poison's tattoo begins to darken.

In this book he's ready to take on the heavy mantle, even as he's busy dealing with Callie, who has been kidnapped and tortured by witches, and his older brother who, though doesn't want the title, isn't great at letting go of it either.

How is he supposed to woo his mate, who he messed up with a few months ago, deal with his politically incorrect brother, stop the witches, and get some much needed answers from his closed-mouth parents about his heritage?

Poison is a shifter with many missions and a very short supply of time.

Callie is a puma shifter "good girl" recovering from a broken heart, and from her kidnapping and torture. The last thing she wants is the guy who was, literally, a one night stand, to show up proclaiming her his Queen. She knows he has less than a week to meet the mate demand, and she refuses to be a "consolation prize", no matter how sexy she thinks he is. This healer is not about to go down easy, and brings some much needed "bad girl" into play.

As always, we get to hear from the other Kings and Queens, and it's like visiting old friends. Read this last Nashville Kings installment and see how our old friends welcome Callie into the fold, and help Poison "get the girl".

Don't fear! The fun isn't over! Next series up will be Shifter Kings Los Angeles. Coming late 2019.

This is Book 5 in the Shifter Kings Nashville series. OK, I think I’m in love with Poison. This book is so good. Poison loves Callie but he doesn’t think he’s good enough for her, so he runs. Callie has always been the good girl, but she gets kidnapped. Once she’s rescued, things heat up. This tells a story of a bad boy and a good girl who become strong together. It’s got something for everyone, romance, suspense and some really good friends. What more can a person want in a paranormal book, right? I hate that this is the last book because they are all so good. I just wish they had more friends to write about. I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a quick paranormal book.

Finally, the Kings of Nashville have all found their Queens and the new reigning Era can begin. Poison wasn't the original king, his half brother Wolf was, but since Wolf never wanted to be King he abdicated and Poison's tattoo started getting darker signaling the need to find his Queen. He's knows exactly who he wants, so it could be so easy, if it wasn't for the fact he ghosted Callie right after a wonderful night together. Callie, better known as Doc, is upset that he ignored her and is not willing to be his consolation Queen. Now Poison has to convince Callie that he has always loved and felt like he wasn't enough for a woman like Callie. I loved reading this series and can't wait to meet the next group of shifters In Los Angeles.

Poison had a one night stand with Chanty and he left her alone because he didn’t think he was good enough for her because she was a doctor and he just worked in a factory. Then an evil witch kidnapped Chanty and tortured her and his friends found her, he realized that he loved her and wanted forever with her. His brother was supposed to be the king but gave it up so I went to poison but Chanty didn’t want to be a queen until he groveled enough that she agreed
