FROM EXCITING AUTHOR OF LGBTQ+ ROMANTIC SUSPENSE THOM COLLINS

Book two in the Basic Instincts series

Be careful what you look for in the night.

Three months after the death of his brother, Marc Glass faces a whole new dilemma. A tabloid journalist has made a connection between Theo and a prominent politician. Theo’s death might not be all it seems. Marc knew all about his brother’s secret sex work, but it’s a scandal that would destroy his family, who have already suffered enough.

Private Detective Jason Durham might be the answer. Marc enlists Jason’s agency to look into Theo’s unsolved murder. The police investigation is dead, but if they can solve the case on their own, they could head off the potentially damaging story. Marc isn’t sure who he can trust with the details of Theo’s life, but Jason seems like the man.

As secrets are uncovered, Marc and Jason must fight their attraction to each other, but when their prime witness is murdered, they are suddenly caught in a web of mystery and increasing danger.

As the nights grow darker, will either of them make it until morning?

I’m always on the lookout for good m/m romantic suspense novels or series, so when new-to-me author Thom Collins’ Nothing But the Night was offered for review, I decided it was worth a look. The synopsis sounded interesting, and I always like to find stories set in the UK – even though the town of Blyham is fictional – and while I found the writing in the opening chapter a bit off-putting in its choppiness, I persevered and began to enjoy the story. In the end, Nothing But the Night turned out to be one of those books that kept me engaged and invested while having a handful of flaws that mean I had to knock the final grade down a few notches.

It’s a mystery with a romantic sub-plot that begins when successful businessman Marc Glass is approached by a tabloid journalist, who drops the bombshell that the hit and run accident that recently killed his younger brother, Theo, was no accident. Theo was a sex worker whose videos had gained him a large following and a lucrative income stream who did some escorting on the side, and the journo tells Marc that Theo’s clientele included the local, married-with-kids Conservative MP. She’s sure Theo was killed because someone wanted to keep that relationship from coming to light. Marc doesn’t want anything to do with her or her newspaper; all he’s worried about is keeping the truth of what Theo did for a living from their grieving parents, but then he realises that he’d rather find the truth himself than let them be blindsided by a reporter. So he employs private investigator Jason Durham to look into Theo’s death, telling him about the journalist’s claims and her theories about what happened and why.

It’s not a lot to go on, especially as most of the men Theo made videos with used aliases, but Jason gets to work, and finds one of Theo’s regular on-screen partners who is willing to talk to him. At this stage, Jason isn’t completely convinced there’s anything truly sinister going on, but when he and Marc arrive at the appointed time and location to find the guy slumped on the floor covered in blood from several large stab wounds, he has to concede that maybe there really is something to Marc’s fears. As he delves further into Theo’s life and connections, the murkier the waters become; and as more of Theo’s associates wind up dead, he and Marc find themselves firmly in the killer’s sights.

The mystery here is well-conceived and well-paced and it held my interest throughout, but while the the writing is decent, it’s somewhat choppy at times, with lots of short sentences in quick succession. Kudos to the author, however, for keeping his cards so close to his chest when it came to the identity of the murderer; I really had no idea who it was until the reveal. On the downside, the characterisation of the two leads is fairly superficial and there’s no real chemistry between them, so the romance never gets off the ground. I’m fine with two people being instantly attracted to each other – that’s how attraction often works, after all – but there’s nothing really beyond that; they have sex fairly quickly (again, not a problem), but the sex scenes are a bit wooden and their relationship isn’t well-developed. The mystery plot is in the driving seat – and that’s fine; I’d just advise potential readers to adjust your expectations if you’re picking this one up expecting a romantic suspense novel, because while the suspense element is good, the romance is lacking. That said, I liked that Jason and Marc behave like men in their thirties and forties; there’s no starry-eyed mooning or overdone mental lusting, and the eventual HFN feels appropriate.

Nothing But the Night is billed as book two in the Basic Instincts series, but the plotlines and characters are new for this story, so there’s no real overlap, other than what we’re told about the local police bungling the search for the serial killer who terrorised the LGBTQ+ community that formed the plotline of Now Comes the Dark , and Jason and Marc’s suspicions that they’ve not put much effort into finding out who killed Theo because he was a gay sex-worker. I haven’t read that book, but it’s not necessary to do so in order to enjoy and understand this one.

To sum up; Nothing But the Night is one of those books that ended up being a bit more than the sum of its parts, because I enjoyed the story despite the flaws I’ve outlined, and may pick up another book by Thom Collins. If you’re interested in trying a new m/m romantic suspense author and don’t mind adjusting your expectations for the romance, you could do worse than give this one a try.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarain, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is book 2 in the Basic Instincts series and I have not read book 1, Now Comes The Dark. I did not feel I missed anything by not doing so, so I would say this can totally be read as a stand alone. Roman and Mallon pop up, but only in passing.

Marc is not happy with the local police about their lack of progress in finding his brother's killer. Because Marc does not believe that Theo's death was an accident. Enter Jason, a local private detective. But just as his investigation gets moving, their chief witness is murdered and both men find themselves in a fight for their lives, with no clue who is behind it all.

I just wanna say: Well played, Mr Collins, so very well played! I did not see the whodunnit coming at me, not at all! I love being kept on my toes, I really do. So, I loved that coming out of nowhere and whooping me upside the head!

As Marc and Jason get to know each other, their relationship builds. I liked that build up and when it spilled over. I can't say I liked the reason it spilled over, and I'm not going to elaborate due to spoilers, but I think when it does spill over, it was exactly at the right time for these two.

It moves at speed sometimes, and slows up in others, just enough for you to catch up. It's dark and deadly, and sweet and emotional. Steamy and smexy. It hit all of the buttons I was expecting and some I wasn't.

I absolutely need to read book 3, but I've no clue who that would be or even IF there will be a book 3! And at some point, I'd like to go back and read book 1.

Nothing But the Night is the second book in the Basic Instincts series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. This is the story of Marc and Jason. Marc hires Jason's private detective agency to look into the murder of his brother and that's where things start for these two. I loved that the romance isn't all this book has. It does have plenty of steam though. There is lots of action and intrigue. I really enjoyed everything about this book. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

In the aftermath of his brothers death, Marcus Glass is accosted early one rainy Blyham morning by a reporter who is investigating the hit-and-run death. Nadine knows all about Theo’s online sex work and his escorting and is planning to use this as a basis for her investigation.

To protect his parents and find out the reason for Theo’s death, Marc hires Jason, an attractive burly private investigator to try and find the truth so that his parents learn it from him and not the newspaper.

The professional and person lines between Jason and Marc blur quickly with their reciprocal attraction, but things really start to heat up as the leads in Jason’s investigation start turning up dead and the company they provide each other turns to comfort and stress relief (😏). They’re now against the clock to solve this case before they’re the next victims of the killer.

Thom Collins has a way of sucking you into these fast paced, gripping thrillers. I love how similar to his Jagged Shores series this slots into the Blyham world not long after the events of book one, with Mallon and Roman making a brief cameo, it brings the feeling of a well rounded universe.

While this wasn’t as steamy as the first book, the scenes with Marcus and Jason were well placed so as to not take away from the overall story. And boy did I not see that reveal coming!

If you’re after a good thriller with some steam then this is definitely for you!

This is the second book in the Basic Instincts series, but it can totally be read as a standalone. It is set in the same city and the events of the first book are mentioned but nothing too spoiler-y you couldn’t have guessed on your own (like that the killer got caught).

I’m really glad that I could read the book!
I feel like this is much more set on the thriller part of the story and not as much to the romance than other books. There is romance and it is good, but it’s not in every thought of the MCs.

Marc hires the private detective Jason to look into the killing of his brother.
The brother Theo used to do private content on the internet and Jason took that to look for clues. So they follow the leads through sex. They meet dead ends and dead people and got threatened themselves.
It was quite exciting!
The book is very action packed. Every chapter has something new. Jason does some work alone but Marc soon tacks along to most new leads.
Not realistic in real life but it fit the story perfectly.

Their relationship starts with mutual attraction and hooking up to release some steam. I really liked that there wasn’t declaration of love or promises for more early on, but a natural development.
The situation brought them together, they realized they liked each other and fit in bed and that was that.
And just as they began some dating stuff, more new things regarding the murder happened. The dates got on hold but not their growing closeness.

It was nice to see the MCs go to the sex club of the first book again, but with them making clear that it isn’t their scene. I’m all in for public sex if it’s what they want but they were very different in their views and values and how they were set in life.

The sex scenes also felt very true and real. There wasn’t an overdone description of body parts or dirty talk or talking about something random. They said what was necessary and followed their desires and the partners' enjoyment. I love that it felt very real!

The murder mystery/thriller aspect of the book was quite exciting. It took several turns and whenever I thought I had the suspect figured out something new turned up. I was totally surprised as it got revealed. And even after the story wasn’t just done, there were another ~15% of book for Jason and Marc to fight for their lives and the arresting of the killer.

It ends a bit… not abruptly, but without much glimpse to the future. A HFN is given, but the reader has to imagine their life together for themself.
But in a way that fit to the rest of the book with the MCs simply be together in a (murder aside) normal and boring relationship, aka a realistic one.
And I really enjoyed reading that.

I liked the first book and it made me read more. Even though I already had signed up (but not been accepted) for an ARC of this book, I really wanted to read it.
After finishing this book I actually bought most of the author's backlist, because I really found myself enjoying the writing!

I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

This was probably the hottest thing I've read in a very long time. The heat was so real, and how Marc and Jason internally tracked their growing attraction for each other was just so smokin' hot. i honestly couldn't wait for when they got together because their thought-game was so fire! And omg yessss their sexy times were very worth it, and Thom Collins is on my radar now for the most delectable spicy spice to go along WITH a compelling, well-written private detective-murder mystery! I was riveted!

The plot was gruesome in some parts, and a lot of the community's vulnerability and the police/politician/societal piece really hit me in the feels, especially during these times. Overall i was pretty impressed by the depth and quality of the narrative style, tone and characterization! The story itself has been around the block a few times, but there was just something about Thom Collins' atmospheric capture that did it for me!

Moody but modern. British slasher but societal violence and discrimination that resonates no matter where you are in the world. Marc's terrible losses and subsequent buried grief, but then being triggered by a shady journalist to seek the truth behind his brother's death. Enter the hot, ex-Royal Navy Police now private detective, with the skillset AND the sexy investment necessary to get the job done! The dynamic plot and pacing went strong from start to finish, and not only was i interested in every facet of the story but I just really loved the megawatt attraction that blazed between them. My emotional connection to Marc and Jason's love story was entirely because of the visceral ways they clocked each other, and i'm glad that after all the awful things that went down they could look forward to a less murdery future together lol!

Nothing But the Night was wild and sexy and i'm very excited for more Thom Collins, because i'm certain that if the rest of the series is anything like this was, it'll be an easy win for me!

I think this book helps to show you may not always see what is right in front of you. This is book 2 in the series and you do not have to have read book one.

Marc lost his brother a few months ago due to a hit and run "accident". Marc was not terribly close to his brother but he feels he got a bum wrap from the police because he was gay. This city has a real problem treating all crimes the same if the victim is gay. It took others to solve a serial killer before they could kill more. But now a journalist has contacted him for his opinion and help on her story. Realizing she knows what he did for work he wants to jump ahead of the story. The last time Marc saw him he was bragging about one of his special clients. Finally by the end of the day he exposed who it was. Marc knew this was not good. He needs help of a professional to solve the crime.

Jason is a PI and his new job is to find out what happened in a hit and run murder. When he meets with Marc he realized they have a pull towards each other, but they have a case to solve. However with every witness they talk to, the witness does not last long. Marc and Jason end up at too many murder scenes and they are started to raise suspicions they are doing the crimes...

Can Marc and Jason figure it out before more are killed? Will they survive the killer themselves? How will their relationship help to solve the case? Does Marc clear his brother's name? Does the journalist get in the way or help them out?

This is an interesting series that makes me look at the word a little different to make sure I am not missing an underbelly story. Looking forward to the next installment.

Riveting: what did Theo do to merit murder?!😧

Excellent combination of suspense, steam & soppy weather🌧

I give this novel high marks. It's another excellent, riveting read in Thom Collins' Basic Instincts series. Grieving businessman Marc hires private investigator/ former Navy policeman Jason to investigate his brother Theo's death and, wow, does the intrigue and danger break loose in a city in England's Northeast where the atmosphere is bleak, constantly clouded over and streaming rain, and the local police seem unable (more likely unwilling) to keep assault and death from stalking its gay community.

The deeper Jason delves into Theo's work as an escort and content creator for fans only videos, the more the danger envelops Jason, Marc and the guys they approach to learn more about Theo's professional and private life. It's never boring; the plot moves along quickly and is peppered with some graphic steam in the gay club scene and notable connection and heat between the p.i. and his client.

This story is set in the same community as the first book in the series, occasionally mentions the key events and the main protagonists or victims from book one. But this is a true standalone and you don't need to read the earlier book. But I would recommend it anyway, because it was also a great, thrilling read.

I definitely want to read more in this steamy suspense vein by the author.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Three months after the death of his brother, Theo, Marc Glass is approached by a journalist who plans on writing an article (or maybe an exposé) concerning a connection she found between Theo and a prominent politician. Marc knew of his brother’s secret sex work and did not want to expose his family to the scandal. He decides his best action is to hire a private detective. He hires Jason Durham to investigate the unsolved murder of his brother Theo Glass. As secrets are uncovered, their lives are endangered with several violent attempts, leaving them with serious injuries. Not only that, witnesses are being murdered before they can interview them. With their lives on the line, it is not the time to explore their attraction to each other but their hearts had other ideas.

In the first book in this series, Basic Instincts, the police were shown to be uninterested in looking into the murders of young gay men. In this book, we see the police are still struggling with adequately investigating the deaths of all citizens. The suspense increases steadily to the point where you cannot put down the book. Everywhere they turned, Jason and Marc found deceptions, violence and death. Fortunately, they had each other. The two blended so seamlessly as if they were meant to be together. Thom Collins is truly a gifted writer who can grab us and keep us reading until the wee hours of the night.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Nothing But the Night is the second book in the Basic Instincts series but can easily be read as a standalone. I was a bit disappointed in the first book because I thought it ended too abruptly and there was no epilogue. This book doesn’t have an epilogue either but I didn’t mind as I felt the ending was solid and an epilogue wasn’t really needed.

I’ve been a fan of Thom Collins romantic suspense stories for quite a while now and this one kept me captivated from start to finish. There were several very spicy scenes but the main focus of the story was who killed Marc Glass’s brother. The attraction between him and Jason, the private detective he hires to look into his brother’s death, was there right from the beginning but they had to put it aside in order to work the case.

The body count was kind of high in this story and there were many twists and turns. I truly didn’t see it coming when the bad guy was finally revealed – this is the sign of a great murder mystery!

An advanced copy of this book was provided to me at my request; my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Second book in the Basic Istincts series. I’ve read the first one (though both books can be read as a standalone), and I liked it, but I think I liked this one more. There was more suspense, or maybe I was just in a different state of mind that made me see something different, but that doesn’t change the result, and I loved it.
The story had a lot of moments in which I thought I could understand who the perpetrator was, but then something happened that made me think I was wrong, and this until the end.
The love story between the main characters, Marc and Jason, started as a kind of insta love, for Jason in particular, since he was immediately impressed by Marc, when he first went to his office to hire him as a private investigator to find out what happened to his brother.
I loved their connection, how it started, how it developed, and how it ended. Will we see them again in the third book? If there will ever be a third book as addition to the series? I hope at least for a cameo with this couple, and, why not, the one from the previous book too, since they all live in the same town.
In the meantime, I recommend it.

Had to run this series back because I was enjoying it so much! It definitely is still dark (maybe even darker than the first). I was really hoping the queer men of Blyham would catch a break, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for this series. It’s true to reality, sad as that is.

This book was harder on me somehow. It followed some of the same formulas as the first of the series, but that meant I was upset by similar outcomes. I did love Jason’s practicality and liked seeing Marc rediscover himself. The twists got me again, though, as always. One of these days, I’ll figure out whodunit ahead of time. Today wasn’t one of those days lol.

Gotta admit, I am disappointed Collins stopped capitalizing the B in Black (man, people, etc.) after doing such a great job of it in Now Comes the Dark. I know a lot of people probably don’t see it as a big deal at all, but I’m gonna keep addressing it anyway. Just the principle of the matter.

Despite the stress and sadness and heaviness I felt while reading, I still enjoyed it. And the steam was well placed. I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review. 4.25 to 4.5 stars.

This is the second in the series but I feel can be read as a standalone. There are a few references to the previous book but nothing to take away from this.

Marc after suffering the loss of his brother Theo and has decided to find out what really happened to him. The police don’t seem concerned about finding who killed Theo. He has a reporter almost stalking him to help her with information about his brother so he is afraid his parents will be faced with a story telling about his brother's lifestyle. He hires Jason who is a private detective.

When Marc meets Jason there is an instant attraction between them but since there is a client relationship both try to ignore it for the sake of finding Theo’s killer.

There are many twists and turns in the story and it makes for an intense mystery. The flow of the story I feel is great. It held my interest throughout. The path taken to solve the mystery I feel is really good since all the characters fit so well to the trail to the answers. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.

Marc discovers that his brother Theo’s hit and run may of actually been murder. He hires a PI to try and find out the truth. Jason agrees that there is probably more to Theo’s death and agrees to investigate.

As a sex worker, Theo’s didn’t have a simple life, and the deeper they look into his secrets the murkier it gets. More deaths and murder attempts put both men’s lives in jeopardy.

The book delved into the sex trade and had pretty graphic scenes in a gay sex club. Marc and Jason’s relationship was pretty spicy too. I wouldn’t call it instalove, more just instant attraction.

I like this author. I’ve read several of his books and they are always intriguing. This was a fast paced story with twists and turns I didn’t see coming. There were a few bloody crime scenes so be warned. I was surprised by the bad guy. I believe a book that keeps the reader guessing should be termed a success.

Hot-4-Fans, maroon pouch, Nissan Micra, combover, twink on a bear, flip-flop

Being a colloquial British-English written and England-set book, "Nothing but the Night" by Thom Collins is an interesting MM mystery/suspense romance. As an American-English speaker, it took a while to read because of having to "translate" the story. At most times, it's okay. At other times, puzzling. I think the process diluted some of the story's impact. I've read other colloquial British-English stories, and it's been mostly fine.

The story itself is intriguing and nail biting. Some scenes are predictable, others are totally unexpected. For some readers, this book may be too gory. But, that's thanks to the descriptive and deft writing. So the steamy scenes are also steamier. Not wanting to divulge too much, writing a review for a mystery/suspense book is challenging. So I won't. Instead, I'll just recommend it.

"Nothing But the Night" by Thom Collins is a gripping LGBTQ+ romantic suspense novel that combines mystery and emotional depth. The story follows Marc Glass, who is determined to uncover the truth behind his brother Theo's death, which appears to be more than just a hit-and-run accident. Enlisting the help of private investigator Jason Durham, Marc dives into a web of secrets, danger, and unexpected romance.

The book is a well-paced mystery with intriguing plot twists that keep readers engaged. Collins does an excellent job of maintaining suspense, with the identity of the murderer remaining a mystery until the very end. The character development of the two MCs and the romantic chemistry between Marc and Jason make it| a compelling read.

If you're a fan of romantic suspense with a touch of danger and intrigue, "Nothing But the Night" is worth exploring. It offers a thrilling ride through secrets, scandals, and the pursuit of justice.

3.5 stars rounded up

If you're looking for a romantic suspense, this isn't it. The suspense, riveting and intense, is well-rendered. The romance is ... absent. There IS mutual attraction, and both Marc Glass, the businessman who's looking for the truth behind his younger brother's death, and Jason Durham, the PI he hires to do the job, have great chemistry. But I don't see much of a fully-realized romance between them. The issues surrounding the death of Marc's brother Theo, apparently made it difficult for the writer to focus on any growing feelings beyond affection that take advantage of their sexual compatibility. As the number of dead bodies rise and the danger to the MCs grows, all our attention is on whodunit. The sex scenes are fine, but at the end of the story, nothing relieves the heavy sense of loss at the senseless killing and at the fact that each MC has suffered a personal traumatic loss.

Exciting! Marc, is Theo's older brother. He believes he has a clear understanding of what and who Theo was. He accepted Theo's death was a hit and run. Nadine, is a reporter that is out for headlines, click and follow claims to fame. She has suspicions about Theo's death and approaches Marc as a heads up before going live with her lascivious story. Ryman and Jason are partnesrs in the Detective Agency Marc approaches Jason for information before Nadine publishes. Marc and Jason, notice each other as men, but put the job first. Great murder mystery like a ball of yarn unraveling. Just when there seems to be a light through the crack, the door slams shut. You can't put the story down because you gotta know. The aughor does an amazing job stringing us along. Marc and Jason are a good team. This story is worthy of a re-read. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed this book and thought it was a really good mix of mystery and romance. I was definitely intrigued by both and found myself very much invested in Marc and Jason.

After the death of his brother and a nosy reporter with some big accusations, Marc hires an investigator to try to get some truth about who his brother really was and what happened to him. Jason is the investigator Marc goes to and despite the circumstances there is an immediate attraction between the two. Definitely not ideal circumstances, but it certainly makes for an interesting story!

Again, I thought this was a really good mix of romance and mystery and I was totally there for both. There is a lot to sort out and a lot going on and definitely some really good twists that kept me guessing and was action packed right up to the end. Overall, I found this to be an entertaining read and one I definitely enjoyed.

This is a new to me author. I did not have time to read book one prior to reading this one. I was told that was not necessary, book one is referenced once or twice but nothing that would spoil anything. I did look up the summary of book one.

Felt like a great pace to the book, couldn’t put it down from about 68% and beyond. I was very in the fence with this hook at the beginning. Something felt off, I wasn’t sure if it was the insta-love or what felt awkward interactions, but the fast pace really kept me going and then I got hooked.

Can I just say? Chapter 24. What the, the? Shocked, I was completely shocked.

And that ending. WOW.

This is second book in this series but stands alone just fine. I do suggest you read book 1 because there are things mentioned several times that happened in book 1 and they go to the Viaduct a sex club that was featured in book 1. But this is a different couple and mystery.

The suspense is nailbiting and the story keeps you turning the page. I found both characters very likeable and engaging. There are twists and a sad moment but a happy ending for the couple at least happy for now. I do hope to see another book in the series. I loved the settings in England and felt like I was part of it.

If you like a little age gap, client/detective, mystery suspense and twists with a hot romance this is for you.

This was my first time reading this author and despite this being Book 2, it can definitely be read as a standalone. There is brief interaction with Book 1 characters but not enough to warrant further explanation.

Marc is a successful former reality star and Jason is hired by Marc to look into his brother's murder before an outside source threatens to expose a larger area of interest.

But soggy nights and Marc wanting to be more involved forces lines to be blurred then obliterated. But the mystery which set an the players into motion has so many twists and turns that it will keep your fingers gripped to your Kindle.

Marc and Jason find happiness but was the journey worth it for them to decide it is a forever kind of thing.

Nothing But the Night is the second book in Thom Collins' Basic Instincts series. It's a tense, murder mystery. The relationship between the two mains kept my attention, esp during the more gruesome scenes. A sensational journalist/ blogger threatens Marc Glass and his family's grief over the death of Marc's brother, Theo. He hires Jason Durham, a private detective to investigate.
Quick paced. Plot twists galore. Lots of killings. Marc and Jason have an insta-attraction, and there is a bit of steam. I did not guess the big bad, which I quite liked. This was my first Thom Collins book. I'm a bit ambivalent about whether I'll read more. While this book was excellent, not quite to my taste.
I received an advanced copy from GRR and this is my review.

Another great book by Thom Collins is Book 2 in the Basic Instincts series. PI Jason Durham is brought in by Marc Glass to dig into his brother's death because he thinks there’s more to the story than meets the eye. Theo ( Marc’s brother ) was living his life as a sex worker, doing what he loved. With both Marc and Jason facing death threats, they need to uncover the truth. As the story goes on, Marc and Jason's relationship starts to build up. I was shocked by who the killer was and the reasons behind it.
There are so many twists and turns in this intense mystery that I couldn't put my Kindle down; I was completely hooked!

Marc hires former Navy policeman turned private investigator Jason to look into his brother Theo's mysterious death. As Jason investigates, he uncovers Theo's life as an escort and content creator on a fans-only platform. The deeper Jason digs, the more danger surrounds him, Marc, and those they approach to learn about Theo's life. The local police seem either unable or unwilling to protect the city's vulnerable gay community. The book will have you on the edge of your seat with so many twists and turns. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

I jumped straight in to the 2nd book in the series and I'll say that I'm petty wowed and now I definitely need to go back to read the first. Marc isn't a real detective like Jason but is eager to solve the case of why his brother was killed. Falling for Jason in the mean time is kinda just a perk. But this isn't just a detective story as it was somewhat high octane once the killer started coming after them. So I would recommend this as a thriller mystery with a very good layer of heat and passion added in.

After Marc suspects his brother Theo's murder was tied to a local politician, he hires a private Detective Jason to find out what he can. Their dogged pursuit leads to their affair, attempts on their lives and danger to all involved. It's a tense, gritty noir of a book with mystery, suspense and the seamy side of cam work exposed. Marc and Jason just want justice for Theo and each other. I received a copy of this book through Gay Romance Reviews and this is my voluntary opinion.

I love this book..It is a great gay romance mystery with many twists and turn that kept me on the edge of my seat. I was all in for Marc and Jason and they attempted to solve the death of Marc's brother (Theo). The plot was rich and the romance was captivating for me. I had to read the first book (but will now) and that was not an issue for loving this book. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is simply outstanding. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.
