Shadow Master (The Nightwatch Academy Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,013 ratings

The tide has turned, and chaos hovers on the horizon.

The Fomorians have taken my mate and left death in their wake. My instincts scream at me to go after them and take back what’s mine, but when the Shadow Master hands me his emblem, the choice is taken from me.

I’m needed here.

Order must be restored, and that duty falls on me.

Luckily, I have a plan.

But when unexpected visitors spill into the Academy from the human world, my plan is derailed. It’s time to think fast on my feet. If I’m going to hold on to the leadership of my knights then hard decisions will need to be made, and desperate actions taken.

When it’s time to go into enemy territory, there can be no looking back. There can be no second guessing, because the lives that matter most to me are on the line.

No one gets left behind.

It's time to walk into the storm.

The Vampire Academy meets Game of Thrones in this kick-ass, supernatural academy, Urban Fantasy with a slow burn Why Choose Romance.

I really liked this series and read all the books in a couple of days. The characters were engaging and relatable. This book had the typical sexual component of multiple partners which is not really my thing but I was interested in the story and the way the author draws you into their world of magic and mayhem. Indigo was such a great lead character, tough yet damaged by parents who didn't love her. She was so resilient and defiant, not backing down from a fight so the Shadow cadets became her family. I am not sure that those macho men like Brady and Hyde would actually share Indigo but the author makes you believe they want to try. I wish Harmon had gotten his HEA as that was the only thread left to tie up. I am a fan and will be reading more from this author now that I have discovered her books.

I still want more. I am a bit bummed if this is where the series ends. I do see there’s another one coming though so I have to see if it’s out yet or not.

Overall I did like this book but I am still confused on the details. Also there were many characters and sometimes I kept forgetting who people were due to suddenly knowing their names or getting minimal descriptions to remind me who it was. It took a while to figure out.

Tons of people die in this book. Including one character I really liked and didn’t deserve to die. Overall the ending wasn’t bad. I am interested in the other series except for the fact it isn’t a reverse harem.

I liked all the guys, but I wish Hyde did more groveling. I felt like their attraction overrode the way he treated her. Also Orion’s law was never explained.

We also barely talked about Minnie or Lottie losing their memories never fixed that. Didn’t do much with the weaves and where did Fiona go? Also some people didn’t really react too much to the death that happened either. So I felt some actions weren’t explained well enough. Some details got lost in the fray.

    Still not a bad series.

This was a great series, Indigo wasn’t the same person at the end that she was at the beginning. She became so strong and confident. I hate to see this series end because it simply breaks my heart.

We got answers to all our questions, except Harmon, but there is a novella that follows for his story end. The ending wasn’t rushed or tied up too neatly, it was a strong ending that flowed naturally. Highly recommend the series.

I just love this series 🩵 It’s always a great story to return to and re read. The battle is a bit quick but the way it all comes together is fantastic. I’m glad we get closure with Hyde and Orion’s law. Looking forward to more from this author!

I love this series from the first chapter of the first book in the series. I love Indigo so much and am so sad to see the series end. I believe it wrapped up nicely and Indigo developed into such a strong woman in my opinion. I know this is a novelette that I hope will wrap up some of the loose ends that I feel are hanging out. I know this is a series I will re-read many times in the future.

Shadow Master is the fourth installment in The Nightwatch Academy series by Debbie Cassidy.

Such a prolific battle feels shackled in the pages of only book. The resolution and final measures felt somewhat rushed. And Indigo’s war-ending miracle lacked finesse. There was no build up to that point, just poof extra magical snowflake.

The whole situation with Lugh and Brady was a very interesting addition to their groups structure. It’s feels particularly vital to learn more and have him influence the scene to a deeper degree. Slightly upsetting that his introduction into the story lacked any true affect.

It keeps bugging me that Minnie and Indie still haven’t reaffirmed their friendship. However, throughout this entire series she has shown her honor and care for even those outside of her realm of love. The fact that she has stood by this decision, up to this point, is respectable. I do still hope they can start again.

What is up with that weird random voice that speaks to Indigo when she’s in desperate life saving mode with her powers?

I’m overflowing with happiness for not only the relationship and connection she has with her men. But the new fomorian characters introduced. The camaraderie and team effort put in by all those at the academy to face this deadly threat. You can feel change brewing. I wonder how far it will reach in the next book?

I enjoyed the series. Butttt I really felt the end came so quick. Not everything was wrapped up. Some things were wrapped up in the epilogue but I really fell likenthats not the place to do it.

Justice, fast tracked Shadow cadet, is reeling from the events that occurred at the end of Shadow Warrior and attempting to maintain calm. As the story progresses small seeds are planted, the true history is revealed, and unconventional ways jut might save the day. Debbie Cassidy’s final installment to her Nightwatch Academy series is a thrilling conclusion well worth reading. In this book Justice gets her happy ending in a why choose fashion, but there is still plenty of room to expand the storyline, should Ms. Cassidy have the desire.

Enjoyed this series, was wondering if anyone else would die or be removed from Indigo’s life before the end... cause not everyone made it through the first 3 books. It does make it more interesting when an author isn’t scared to kill off Sidekicks.
Easy to read and great way to spend some time.

This series has held me captive and this book is a maddening but fantastic ending.
The strength shown by the FMC in this series has followed through in this book and shown that women are capable of all things with the help of the men who love her and an army of allies.

What an amazing fast paced filled adventure this series has been. I loved it from start to finish. I wish Harmon had, had a different outcome. However I loved the amount of action this book and it was refreshing that it wasn't completely centred on indie and her men. They were like a side plot and it was lovely. Totally loved it from start to finish.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well, that was quite the ending.

Really enjoyed this. Very fast paced and action packed with real consequences for the characters. Found Indigos overall character arc to be quite fitting as she goes from the unwanted child to a leader. Orion was quite the dark horse, and Indigos growing stable of men was unexpected. Hyde was still moody, and I think Brady was the best fit for our leading lady.

Quite a few twists that really took the story in a few unexpected places, but overall a solid series that seems to have a spinoff in the works.
