Of Fire and Bone (Of Magic and Scales Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 42 ratings

As if having a powerful druid and a goddess for parents doesn't suck enough, throwing a vengeful god into the fray certainly doesn't do Aiden any favors.

Aiden Mercer's summer has been interesting—if by interesting you mean life-threatening and heartbreaking that is. With fall fast approaching, he’s looking for a quiet time in the arms of his boyfriend, Naël, the handsome merman.

Alas, life never quite goes the way you plan it, does it? Unless Aiden finds a way to stop the wicked god Baburaj and his mother, Jhanvi from achieving their devilish goals, pain and destruction will hover over him like a starving vulture.

In the third and final book in the Of Magic & Scales series, the familiar cast of zany but lovable characters is back, and they are bringing reinforcements for what promises to be an epic and sexy ending. Join Aiden, Naël, and their circle of magical friends in their final adventure.

Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Natalina wrote her first romance in collaboration with her best friend at the age of 13. Since then she has ventured into other genres, but romance is first and foremost in almost everything she writes.

After earning a degree in tourism and foreign languages, she worked as a tourist guide in her native Portugal for a short time before moving to the United States. She lived in three continents and a few islands, and her knack for languages and linguistics led her to a master’s degree in education. She lives in Virginia where she has taught English as a Second Language to elementary school children for more years than she cares to admit.

Natalina doesn’t believe you can have too many books or too much coffee. Art and dance make her happy and she is pretty sure she could survive on lobster and bananas alone. When she is not writing or stressing over lesson plans, she shares her life with her husband and two adult sons.

I have loved Aiden and Nael’s story so far. Aiden has been through a lot but as long as he has his merrow mate by his side, he can conquer anything. He is struggling to come to terms with having his father suddenly in his life, but he has to call on the druids and his found family in order to defeat those who want him dead. This was a great conclusion to the series! If you have read the other two books in this series, you have to read this one! Aiden just might survive to his happily ever after with her merman prince!

Nael by far is my favorite character in this series. Before I squee about him and Aiden I must say that if you have not read the first two books in this series this one will not make a lick of sense to you.

This book continues where book 2 left off and there are some doozy information Aiden is trying to come to terms with and deal with. While dealing with the fact he has met his parents and they want him to forgive them and be a part of his life, he is dealing with the fact that he can be rendered useless in magical terms, there is still a son and mother out there wanting him dead all while running his coffee shop and having his relationship and his own maturity grow. Aiden does the most growth out of all the characters in the series. He started as a player and really irritating at times. He was a wee selfish and childish. As things are thrown at him and he is with Nael, he grows and matures. He finds love and understanding. He also finds a family in Nael and his sister and his friends. By this third book, he has made great strides and isn’t thinking about being a player. This doesn’t mean he isn’t insensitive at times. He says things before thinking and they do hurt those around him but they set him straight and he also realizes it after he has stuck his foot in his mouth.

The story itself is great. We have love conquering all and epic scenes of forgiveness, romance, fighting the enemy, family and healing. We have growth of characters and relationships. Nael and Aiden are awesome together. I hope we get a novella of that precious coming together. I am dumbfounded by the jealousy and anger that we see towards Aiden and why they are going after him. His mother and father are there no matter what even if Aiden doesn’t forgive and that is wonderful to see. I hope they help him with his powers in the future. I think with Nael and his friends and family by his side Aiden can achieve anything.

Overall I love this story of love, forgiveness, good triumphing over evil and family. I love Nael and Aiden as a couple and Aiden’s growth.

In the third installment of the Of Magic and Scales series, Of Fire and Bone, Natalina Reis continues the story of Aiden and Naël. Their circle of friends has increased since the summer. Unfortunately, instead of getting on with life, Aiden and Naël must find a way to beat the demi-god Babaraj and his mother, Jhanvi, who are still trying to kill Aiden because of his magical powers. Aiden must rely on some more friends and his parents, the druid and his goddess mom, to help him fight this battle. Finding Babaraj and his mother seems to be their hardest assignment until an unknown comes into play. Can Aiden’s little magical army rid the world of these plotting creatures? How will Aiden stand the test of being around his parents after almost a lifetime of not knowing them?

Of Fire & Bone (Of Magic and Scales Book 3) by Natalina Reis was a really good read! This was a great continuation of the series, and it's full of romance, feels, suspense, and tons of twists and turns. Or at least, I thought there were several twists and turns. I also laughed a good bit while reading this book too. You'll definitely fall in love with all of the zany characters that are in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and I can't wait to read the next installment!

This is the third and final story in the Of Magic and Scales series. I would definitely recommend reading the first two in the series first. This was fantastic!! The world building in the series has been sooo good. I’ve enjoyed the characters and their assortment of magical friends. I love the growth of Naël and Aiden’s relationship. Overall this was simply fantastic! I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received.

When your past comes back to haunt you, will you have the courage to fight for the life you have created and love, that's the choice Aiden has to decide in this final instalment.

Aiden is settled now with his boyfriend Nael and wants to enjoy the summer and too relax but as usual good laid plans go pear shaped.

Aiden has worked hard to put his past behind him but there are dark forces trying to bring his world into darkness and can he resist the pressures and overcome it to live the life he wants with his boyfriend and family of friends he has surround himself with. Can Aiden survive this attack or will they draw him back home.

I don't normally read the paranormal genre but I make a acceptance for Natalina Reis, this series and her books are intriguing and draw you in from the first word written to the last. The twist of the paranormal with the MM aspects of the story gives this a unique twist on the normal paranormal stories.

I would say although you could read this book as a stand alone, I recommend that you read the first two books as this gives a great grounding to the story and you get to enjoy these characters from the very beginning. This will just enhance the story even more and draw you to love these characters even more. I am just sad that this is the last time we get to delve into Aiden and Nael world but can't wait to discover more wonderful character.

MM Paranormal romance, third and final book in the series, easy to read although there is alot of information, the book needs to be read in series order for full understanding and maximum enjoyment. A page-turner to the last page, HEA. Aiden, Nael and their friends/family must join together and once and for all defeat the wicked God Baburj (Bob) and his Mother Jhanri. Aiden has spent most of his life friendless not even knowing his own birthday but in the last couple of years things have begun to change for him.
