It can safely be said that Lord Barnaby Greenwood is not having the best of Christmases.

    My only issue with this book is that there isn't a sequel, I want to know more about the Holly King and Oak King.

    On a Midnight Clear is a sweet, funny, and sexy read. The premise is exciting and new, and I was pulled in from the first page to the last.
    This world, lightly touched by magic, is set at Christmas time, but it doesn’t feel like a Christmas story, but more of a story that occurs around that specific holiday.
    The characters are lovely and personable, and I liked their interactions and the humor the author writes so well.
    As with any book containing magic, I had to suspend certain beliefs to enjoy it. There are a couple of instances where I had to stop and consider what I was reading, but mostly, I just went with the flow and allowed the story to wrap itself around me. So, yes, I enjoyed this book. I wish there could be more in this world.
    I look forward to more from this author.

    I enjoyed this book. I loved Barnaby and Cosmo's tale. Barnaby sure needed this magic in his life. Having went from well off to almost in poverty, Barnaby has still stayed the same in his heart. All his life he has been fond of all the sculptors in and around his home, but there was always one he was drawn... Cosmo. He was the one piece that Barnaby bore his soul. Little did he know the statues hear everything and Cosmo listened intently. What a bit of Christmas magic is given to Cosmo from The Holly King, wheels are set in motion to change Barnaby's life for the better... But there is a cost. I was so pleased that this turned out an HEA. Good holiday reading.

    Lily Morgan has written a modern fairy tale with a fey magical creature brought to life with magic.
    Barnaby is a lonely middle-aged man desperately holding on to what's left of his heritage with poverty tearing at the fabric of his life.
