Summary

Chris Delaney

I've promised myself that this was going to be the year to finally buckle down. I'm a junior, and I’ve settled on a major. I've got focus and determination. The one thing I haven't figured out yet? How to deal with the massive crush I've been harboring on the guy in study carrel six. I don’t know his name, and some of my friends think it’s time for me to move on, but he has this whole sexy, broody, dark eyes and messy hair thing going for him. And yeah, he seems like he could be my polar opposite. The kind of unapproachable, serious type who doesn’t smile much, but I’d like to think he’s all rays of sunshine underneath his stormy expressions and disheveled demeanor. All that intense energy…I dig it. I want to know him.

The rub? I’ll have to find the courage to actually introduce myself.

Aiden Russo

The college experience is supposed to be parties, drinking, and fun with a few classes mixed in. It sounds pretty amazing, right? For me, it turned out to be endless lectures, avalanches of homework, and copious amounts of caffeine. The study carrel might as well be my dorm room. And that guitar under my bed? It's got two years of dust growing on it. But this is the life I have to lead if I’m ever going to help my dad. Pre-med isn’t for the weak.

The problem? Loneliness holds me hostage. If only I could find someone willing to break through my ever-present cloud bank, and remind me what it’s like to have fun again.

So Enjoyable!

What a fantastic story! I wasn't expecting A.M. Johnson's The Glow Up to be so sweet! The characters are incredibly genuine, and their attraction truly authentic. Very enjoyable.

This is the first book I've read in Johnson's Franklin U series, and it held up perfectly as a standalone.

Teddy Hamilton and Michael Crouch do a lovely job performing the audio version of The Glow Up.

an audio copy of The Glow Up was provided to me for the purpose of my honest review, all opinions are my own

Charming & Heartfelt! Great Story & Narration🎧

I enjoyed this book immensely, it is a wonderfully written and plotted romance with the perfect amount of drama, charming wit, heartfelt emotions and a fabulous romance. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about too. Chris Delaney has been crushing on Aiden Russo but he never had the nerve to approach him and when the opportunity arises, it turns to an embarrassing moment for Aiden. Chris makes him feel easy about it and he finds an inn into Aiden’s life. I adored these two guys, the chemistry between them was undeniable and I thought they were great together and for each other. They are still finding themselves and what they are going to do with their lives, especially Aiden, who is struggling with his studies and curriculum choice and what is expected of him. He also has a lot on his plate with family issues. Chris is the bubblier of the two and is tight with his moms who are certain to embarrass him when he invites Aiden for a visit. There is never a dull moment in this book and the story is captivating from start to end. A.M. Johnson, thank you for this wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Teddy Hamilton and Michael Crouch are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that suited that character’s persona and was believable in every role they played. They set the perfect tone for the story and they captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhanced this story to another level. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

Cute college story

I liked the story about Aiden and Chris. Aiden is struggling with family problems and also with his choice of studies. Chris had a crush on him ever since he saw him on campus. And when the two meet for the first time, it gets a little embarrassing. But you can feel the unique chemistry between the two right from the start. It was fun to follow the path of the two, who are just about to find their place in life. I loved Chris for being sensitive and patient. But it was also nice to see Aiden figure out what he really wants and what makes him happy.
I found the story entertaining, it was well told and it had interesting characters.

The audiobook was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Michael Crouch, both very talented storytellers. They gave the characters the appropriate voices. Both have a pleasant voice and I really liked the way they portrayed the emotions. It was a pleasure to listen to the audiobook.

College experience

Young adult book summarising college in hook ups, drugs and doing dumb, irresponsible things. I don’t get this so called “college experience”, sorry.
I didn’t liked Chris much, he’s a bit of a jerk telling his best friend about the incident in the clinic, and letting him laughing about Aiden’s humiliation. Awesome. Later, he did again with his moms, telling them about Aiden’s private life with the excuse they are his best friends and he tells them everything. Well, that doesn’t mean he has the right to share other’s life with them. So no, it’s not okay. Why can’t people respect others privacy is beyond me.
Aiden is different though. He’s put under his shoulders the responsibility of helping his father, a huge weight no one had asked him to and that is making him miserable. This story is his journey to happiness with Chris help.

Great narration!

This multiauthor series is one of my favorites and this book is a great addition to it. Chris and Aiden are perfect for each other and it was a delight witnessing them discovering just how much so. The dual voice performance was excellent and the wonderful acting made the narration even better. A highly recommended audiobook and a sweet and perfect love story! So good!

Such a sweet, heartfelt and lovable story! A little bit hippy, wonderfully musical and healing, Aiden and Chris were just meant to be!!

Great series

This is such a cute story! Both MCs are adorable, especially Chris.
It's a nice low-angst, easy-to-read, new adult book. Perfect for those days when we want just to lay back and relax, much like the rest of this series.

The audio is pretty good. Teddy Hamilton is always a winner for me, he nails it every time. Michael Crouch was a new-to-me narrator and it took me some getting used to him. I didn't fully love his narration. It lacked emotion, I guess, but it wasn't bad, just not perfect.

enjoyable

Michael is a new narrator to me and to be honest not sure if I like him or not. I will definitely need to listen him more to make an opinion. teddy as usual was great. the story was lovely and would definitely read/listen more from this author.

as for the story I really enjoyed how these characters step out of their norm to end up having such a great relationship. I loved how it wasn't angsty at all and just a journey of 2 young men dealing with life

Lovely!

Also reviewed on Amazon UK - This seemed a little slower, a little gentler than the previous FU books and I absolutely LOVED it. I'm a huge AM Johnson fan anyway so I'm not surprised I really enjoyed this. A really feel good read, def recommend.

Review for Audio - Michael Crouch is a new narrator for me and he nailed it. Teddy Hamilton was as good as always, the voices def suited the characters and I'd love to hear them narrate together again.
