Redeeming Nick (Dark Forest Pack Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 358 ratings

A witch with a secret, a fae guard with a job to do.

Nick
As the new manager of paranormal club, Midnight, Nick Parker has his hands full. What he doesn’t have time for is an inconvenient attraction for the mysterious fae with violet eyes and the kind of magic that Nick yearns for.

Dathal
A fae guard with an affinity for seeking out the truth, Dathal has one purpose—to catch those responsible for smuggling a deadly plant out of the fae realm, and then return home. Falling for a witch isn’t on the cards, but something about Nick calls to him in a way he’s powerless to ignore.

Their paths cross as Nick is drawn into the investigation, and their connection is inevitable, but the consequences of being together are something neither of them could have foreseen.

Redeeming Nick is an MM paranormal romance featuring a hot, tattooed witch with attitude, and a silver-haired fae with a disdain for human rules. Full of magic, mystery, and sizzling UST, with a guaranteed HEA.

About the Author

Annabelle Jacobs lives in the South West of England with her three rowdy children, three cats, and a very naughty black labrador. An avid reader of fantasy herself for many years, Annabelle now spends her days writing her own stories. They're usually either fantasy or paranormal fiction, because she loves building worlds filled with magical creatures, and creating stories full of action and adventure. Her characters may have a tough time of it-fighting enemies and adversity-but they always find love in the end.

Dan Calley has been a professional voice-over artist for over twelve years. He's voiced many projects, from advertisements to documentaries to audiobooks to character work on his award-winning cult comedy sitcom podcast, where he not only voices over ten different characters, but edits, sound designs, and produces the whole thing. He also did stand-up for ten years, reaching the BBC New Comedy Award final in 2011. Since then he's also been an actor, recently starring in the Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. He currently has over forty audiobooks under his belt and has managed to build a tidy following through his narration work. As such, Dan has recently been nominated for two Goodreads M/M Romance Members' Choice Awards: best audiobook narration of the year for Garrett Leigh's Redemption and all-time favorite m/m narrator.

Nick and Dathal are perfect for each other.

Great continuation of the overall arc and plot started in book one.

Steam was low but good enough.
    Dual 1st person POV

I enjoyed this almost as much as book one. Nick and Dathal's story is a good continuation of this series and it has me looking forward to the next book.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

Nick is just so sweet. Goodness personified. He was a wild, arrogant youth, but he grew up. Dathal is a fae royal guard who falls for Nick, then has to choose between his home and his love.

In addition to the hot, hot, hot chemistry between a witch and a fae warrior, we get a peek of the fae realm.

Nice to see the magic-users with day jobs (well, night since he runs a bar), and the support a healthy coven provides.

Continuation of book one. Diversity still a zero. Which is so freakin disappointing. We met more people and besides a red headed witch (side eye) still no diversity. I’m starting to wonder if that is your fantasy. To have have no BIPOC/disabled folks in your story. So point off.
Story was good I love learning about Nick, and about more of the world. We get deeper into the mystery in the background. The writing was good. The smexy was magical, and I’m excited to dive deeper into other characters and having past characters still being a part of the story.

This is the second book in the Dark Forest Pack series. Nick is a witch whose magical abilities have been suppressed by the Council of Witches for past infractions. Dathal is a formidable fae with powerful magical abilities who has been tasked with the investigation of why and how a deadly plant is being smuggled out of the realm of the fae. When they meet, their attraction is strong and obvious from the beginning. It feels like they are meant to be and as they start an intimate relationship, forbidden but oh so magical.

I liked this book better than the first one of the series. The pacing was better and the words seemed to flow a lot better. The MC’s connection seemed genuine and their chemistry was off the charts smoking hot. The story was interesting and though-provoking, and the characters were fascinating to get to know. I can’t wait to read Talis and Axel’s story next.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This series is getting better and better. I absolutely loved Nick and Dathal together. The world building is good, and events are tying together into a nice story arc. I'm looking forward to Axel's book next.

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic tale of love and friendship
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 5, 2023
I am loving this series. Great balance of intrigue, characters and plots. Strong friendships, pack, coven, fae, family. Love in many forms. Great characters and engaging writing. Settle in, get comfortable and prepare to forget the outside world. Lost myself in these two tales and looking forward to the next one. Best read in order due to overarching plots, but each book is a complete romance. More please!
