Back in the Saddle : A MM Western Romance (BA's Cozy Cowboys) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 629 ratings

When David Garcia's family suffers a loss, he comes back to New Mexico to help, leaving his life in Austin behind. He knows he has to make the best of it, so he uses his skills as a teacher to set up a daycare business on his parents' ranch and start helping out local friends and family who need a babysitter now and then. It's the perfect job for someone who also needs to run the small family ranch and make money to keep it afloat.

When rodeo cowboy Wiley Marquart decides to start a family, he sure doesn't expect the barrel racer he made a deal with to up and leave him high and dry in New Mexico with both of his girls and nothing but a check once a month. He loves his kids, but starting a ranch from the ground up is tough, and he needs someone to watch the girls when he has to work the back forty or deliver a trained horse. So when he meets David, the relief if immediate. And it doesn't hurt that after a false start or two, he likes the guy.

Between navigating family pitfalls, work disasters, and two ranches, David and Wiley start to forge a friendship, and then a lot more. But can they find a way to mesh their lives without dropping any of the balls they're juggling, or are they destined for disaster?

Texan to the bone and an unrepentant Daddy's Girl, BA Tortuga spends her days with her basset hounds, getting tattooed, baking, and eating Mexican food. When she's not doing that, she's writing. She spends her days off watching rodeo, knitting, and surfing Pinterest in the name of research. BA's personal saviors include her wife, Julia Talbot and coffee. Lots of coffee. Really good coffee.

Having written everything from fist-fighting rednecks to hard-core cowboys to werewolves, BA does her damnedest to tell the stories of her heart, which was raised in Northeast Texas, but has heard the call of the high desert and lives in the Sandias. With books ranging from hard-hitting romance, to fiery menages, to the most traditional of love stories, BA refuses to be pigeon-holed by anyone but the voices in her head, and she's determined to give her cowboys their happily ever afters.

How can you not fall in love with a confident, ranch raised out n proud special needs teacher who starts a ranch daycare while taking care of his parents after tragedy? I’m with Wiley on this; David is just too perfect to pass up.
Wiley has twin girls from his short lived marriage appeasement of the rodeo sponsors and needs help since his ex is on the road and he has a ranch to run. Nothing is more important than his girls but he has to be able to work. David is the answer to his prayers… in more ways than one.
I’m never disappointed in this author’s books and Back in the Saddle is no exception. The relationship builds organically and seeing their love grow around the kids and animals is so much fun. With family and exes throwing curve balls at them, David and Wiley have to figure out just what they’re doing and will it be for the long haul.

down to earth, feels just like home

BA has done it again. I love all her stories but Back in the Saddle, feels like home. What starts out as David coming home to help his parents out after his dad’s heart attack turns into a wonderful love story. Wiley’s trying to raise his two daughters and run a ranch. David starts a ranch daycare, so he can help is folks but still do what he loves, teach kids. Wiley hires David, but add in two arches to run, parents who want to RV and a fall into a dirty cattle trough and you’ll find love. What a fantastic BA love story.

BA Tortuga does it again with a wonderful M/M cowboy read! You are looking for a read that has some M/M heat, men falling in love along with
small children, two ranches, and everything in between, then this is for you.
    Enjoy!

Davis a specialist teacher brings joy to the little hearts in a small community. Rodeo retiree and owning a ranch brings the career he meant for Stoke holding on longer then 8seconds. Family, daycare and animals in the mix can make anyone appreciate chaos. Family drama and love can mend more then scraped knees. MM Romance.

I’m a big fan of this series and this outing did not disappoint. As usual, this book had a great mix of cowboys, kids, and animals mixed with a sweet love story. Keep them coming!

Series is becoming somewhat redundant. Cookie cutter characters, dialogue, and plots are one dimensional and repetitive, making them indistinguishable from other books in series.
Disappointed .... expected more after 'Soft Place to Fall' and others with similar depth. 'Quantity over quality' issues perhaps.
