Shouting Match (Amore Matchmaking Book 1) Kindle Edition
Forty years old and sick of one-night stands and prowling the bar scene, Detective Fuller Sims goes to local Italian restaurant, Lombardi’s, one night for drinks. What he’s not looking for is the youngest Lombardi brother to talk him into his matchmaking scheme. But Fuller is tired of being alone, and Brando Lombardi insists he knows exactly where to find the man of Fuller’s dreams—his overworked older brother, Capone—the guy Fuller almost arrested a few hours earlier.
Taking a chance on each other, Capone and Fuller find out that Brando might have matchmaking skills after all. When a blizzard sets its sights on the rugged Maine coast, a shouting match between the new lovers sends Fuller out into the raging storm. Can Capone find him before it’s too late?
Shouting Match is book one in the exciting Amore Matchmaking series. It features four gay brothers, their eccentric mother, an ornery goat, and way too much pasta.

About the author

Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fan fiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens, and handsome men falling in love with each other.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2022The Lombardi family is off to a great start. Capone Lombardi is the eldest of four boys. He is also a man who loved his father and is honoring his father's last wishes. Look out for your brothers and your mother.
Family restaurant, a brother with a great idea and a police officer who becomes one of half of of Amore Matchmaking Services. Fuller is a Detective and his work was his life. Capone is the chef of the Lombardi restaurant and has not been really living.
I enjoyed watching the honest path of, misunderstandings, fear and insecurity that Fuller and Capone travel.
It is a mature, honest journey of two men fall in love and trying to be friends as well as lovers.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2022This was such a sweet story! I have such a huge smile on my face as I write this, having just finished the book. Capone and Fuller are perfect together, and the whole Lombardi family just makes me want to dive into this book and be a part of their family! Excuse me while I go dive into book two immediately!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2022I love anything by Pandora Pine so I was excited when the new Amore Matchmaking book arrived. When the youngest Lombardi brother decides to start a matchmaking service, his oldest brother Capone is the first one to get matched. On the surface Capone and Fuller do not seem like a match, but both men are more than ready to settle down and decide to embrace the matchmaking efforts. Watching these two stubborn men find their way together was quite satisfying. There were definite pitfalls, but that is true of every relationship and theirs was no different. They worked through their differences as they worked toward their happily ever after. The amazing cast of characters brought this Maine town to life, and I look forward to further matchmaking endeavors.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2022This book is okay but the character development is confusing. The author is inconsistent in the way the characters react to certain situations and it seems random and poorly executed. I think the story could be good but since the characters don’t make much sense in their interactions it takes you out of the emotions of the story. I also felt like the author tried to put too many weird emotional moments in with the family but mostly just made it seem like Capone was at fault for how his brothers felt. The most confusing interaction for me was the opening interaction between Fuller and Capone. Why was fuller so angry? Also why would he treat Capone like a criminal for speeding snd not just ticket him? The whole scene was strange and unrealistic and almost made me quit the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars That's Amore! 4.5* For Capone And Fuller
A new series by this author is just one of the greatest gifts for a reader and the opener for Amore Matchmaking is no different. In Shouting Match, we're introduced to the Lombardis, an Italian family who own a restaurant in Ogunquit in Maine. Capone, the eldest of four brothers, has the weight of responsibility and expectation on his shoulders after his father's deathbed plea for Capone to look after his mother and younger brothers. He runs the family business and has little time for himself. That is until Brando Lombardi has an idea for a new business of his own - matchmaking - and he's set his sights on Capone as his first customer. His match? One Detective Fuller Sims, who's forty and feeling it.
I love the push/pull enemies to lovers vibe between Capone and Fuller. They've so much chemistry but their growing realisation that the other man isn't what they expect from their preconceptions is sweet and leads to a fantastic connection. I also love that we get all of the author's other trademarks, too, aside from relationship building with slightly older characters: lots of humour (Brando making up alternative lyrics to That's Amore - you'll be singing that for hours after reading this book!); good plot and setting (wintry Ogunquit is great); and family. The bond between the brothers is lovely and, honestly, no-one writes a mama character like Pandora Pine. Athena is fabulously strong for her boys, loving unconditionally and equal parts supportive and interfering…a brilliant character I can't wait to see more of in future books.
If there's one thing I would have liked to be wrapped up just a little tighter, it's the situation with Fuller's ex, otherwise, Shouting Match is an amazing start to life with the Lombardis. 4.5*
An ARC was provided by the author. This is my honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Misnomer
This was a good start to this new contemporary series following this family who got through losing their father and are just now starting to feel like they can live again. Where else should they start living than with love?
Capone is the eldest son in his family, and between his father's last words and that responsibility he has taken over both the family restaurant and watching over his brothers. Though he doesn't see it this has kept him apart from his family, moving him out of the close brotherly relationships he had as he tries to be more parental, and putting a huge weight on his shoulders. When his youngest brother starts up a matchmaking company he thinks it's just another ridiculous scheme, but the first match made is between himself and the sexy cop who recently pulled him over for speeding, Fuller. The two hit it off surprisingly well, opening Capone's eyes to what he has been missing in life, both in love and in family.
Fuller is a great cop, but he worries he sacrificed his love life for that success. His own parents were not role models in love so he spent his younger years making sure he could get away from them and be successful. Focusing on work got him where he needed, but now it feels like he is too old and set to make it in love as well. Being setup with Capone feels ridiculous, but the two connect so well, and attraction is definitely there. Making a relationship work isn't easy but Fuller is willing to put the same amount of effort as he did into his job if this thing can be real.
This story was sweet and spicy as these two try to make things work. Capone has a temper and can jump to conclusions, while Fuller is still sceptical of love and of his ability to it after his upbringing. They each give it all they have though and their friends and family make a big difference as well. Capone gets to realize how much he has missed about his brothers by not being a brother since his father died. Building back up those bonds is just as important to him as his love life. Fuller gets to see a strong and loving family, even when they have fights, and figure out that he isn't just his past. It was very sweet and made for a good story.
The only odd thing about this book is its name and blurb. Confusingly, the entire book is named after an event that happens at the nearly the end of the entire story. It sort of boils down the journey of this relationship to a single event, which really feels like it ignores everything else. The anticipation of when this event would happen made the rest of the story get a bit lost at times, which is too bad. Otherwise it seems to be a good opener for a fun new series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it
This book is just so sweet and amazing, I didn’t want to put it down once I started! Capone is just so determined and throws his whole self into fulfilling his fathers wishes. Fuller is just so awesome as well with his determination to do his job and serve the community to the best of his ability.
I loved how the two of them worked out their relationship and were able to overcome their various issues and concerns. A really great read!
