    Before picking up this novel I was looking for my next audiobook... I wasn't sure what I was in the mood for, so I was just scrolling through my Audible library, until this book caught my eye :) I'm not sure why, because it was the first book I read by this particular author, but something made me pick it up... and after only a chapter or so I knew I made a really good decision ;) I had such a blast listening to this audiobook, but before I get into all the reasons why... and why you all should read this book if you haven't yet ;) let me tell you first some more what it's all about :)

    Imagine being in Blue's situation... :) he arrives at his sister's wedding week... a few months after a hard break up he's still not totally back into his groove... and of course who's there if not his ex, a friend of the family... yeah... not only that, he has his new boyfriend with him... talk about awkward... :) so what Blue can do? with a help of a very generous stranger, he makes him jealous, showing how well he's doing without said ex and sort of faking a new relationship... :) turns out that not only this stranger is not as straight as people might think about him, he's also not only a total stranger after all... because it turns out that Tristan is the owner of the vinyard where the wedding week takes place... and is also a brother of the groom ;) yep :) so imagine all the reactions when this new relationship situation is revealed to the families... ;) what happens next is a whirlwind of a romance over the span of about the week, but that's all the details I can share without spoiling you some lovely surprises, so let's just get into all the reasons why I adored this novel so much and why you all need to read it as soon as possible :)

    As I mentioned before, this was my very first book by this author, but I immediately fell in love with her writing style... it was hilarious and entertaining, I was completely hooked into the story from the start... which is even more impressing when you take into consideration fact that this is a debut novel :) I know, I was surprised as well ;) because the writing is so engaging you can't put the book down and just turn page after page to see what's gonna happen :) this is the first story in a series, where each installment will be centered around a different couple, so no cliffhangers or anything in individual stories, but after meeting Blue's siblings... cause the series is centered around them :) I can guarantee you will be curious about them all... and I do mean ALL of them :) which is saying something, cause they are quite a big bunch ;) the whole Marian family was such a bright part of this book :) but let's get to our main couple now... ;) since the majority of this book takes place over the span of about a week, it was definitely a pretty intense sort of romance... don't get me wrong, I have nothing against them... I just usually prefer the slow burn ones... which is why I was so surprised by how much I loved everything about Blue and Tristan, and how quickly they became important to one another ;) I adored them individually and as a couple and had so much fun reading how they get closer and closer to each other... this book was full of hilarous moments, as well as steamy ones... and let's not forget about all the emotional and sweet ones as well :) the main couple was fantastic and the secondary characters were diverse and so interesting that you will want to read all of their stories immediately :) fortunately a lot of them are already available, and you can bet that I will continue on with this series very soon ;) and as much as I generally recommend you to read this book in whatever format you prefer, if I can make a suggestion... you should listen to it as an audiobook :) the narrator is... I have no words good enough to describe him :) he did very distinctive voices not only for our main characters, but for the secondary ones as well... his performance only added awesomeness to the over all amazingness of this story :) was this book believable? not really... ;) did the ending felt a bit rushed? maybe a little bit... ;) were some things exaggerated or seemed to come out of nowhere? a little bit :) but did any of these things take away from my enjoyment of the story or annoyed me at any point? not at all :) I had such a great time listening to this one, which is always such a great surprise :) I'm happy to discover a new author I will definitely keep my eye out on and I hope I convinced you to give her a try ;)

    Every Lucy Lennox book I’ve read so far has been instalove. Like falling in love in two days instalove.

    That’s not normally my thing, but the author does well to make you believe the feelings are genuine.

    I think as someone who was trying to binge this authors backlog, it is getting a little old having every single book be an instant romance. So with that said, I’m going to take a break and maybe read someone else for while. But if insta-love is your jam, you’ll be super happy here!

    I occasionally do this and I apologize if you don't like me wrapping a whole series in one review. However, this one caught me by complete surprise to the point where I abandoned all the other books I was reading (and they are all by some of my favorite authors) and read straight through these three like a hot knife through butter.

    First of all, the characters surrounding the MCs in each book are the crazy Marian family of Northern California, a free-wheeling, loving gang of six natural siblings, five boys (three gay, but one in the closet), and one girl, Simone. Then there's Aunt Tilly, one of the great hoots of all time, and attendant members of other clans and friends of each of the MCs--this gang can definitely shoot straight, but sometimes they all miss the mark.

    The main theme in each book is that every single one of the MCs is terrified of commitment for good reason. In "Borrowing Blue," Blue (nee Bartholomew) Marian has just been dumped by his long-time lover Jeremy on the eve of Simone's wedding, and he is not interested in ever having another relationship. Then he meets casual a supposedly straight man named Tristan in the bar of the vineyard estate where Simone's wedding is to take place. Tristan is just coming off a bitter divorce propagated by him finding his wife entwined with...well, that would be giving away a spoiler.

    Needless to say, when Jeremy walks into the bar with a boy toy (he was invited to the wedding) and Tristan offers to kiss Blue to prank Jeremy, we have the beginning of a wonderful assignation during which Tristan comes to terms with the fact that he has probably always been at least bi, and Blue comes to the conclusion that this cannot and should not last.

    But it does, and along the way during the week-long lead up to the wedding, Blue's brother Jamie comes to town from Alaska where he, a dedicated environmental super star, had just been recently literally left at the altar by a guy named Brian, who turned out to be married. Jamie is off commitments and is also trying to escape the e-mail and voice-mail entreaties of a world-renowned wildlife photographer named Theodore Kodiak, which leads us into "Taming Teddy."

    Teddy will bed anyone at anytime, male or female, on the condition that both realize it's likely to be a one-off, and when he finally corrals Jamie in the second book, the slightly older man becomes besotted. To say nothing of how Jamie feels. This book has far more angst than the previous one, but the resolutions are quite remarkable. During a wild New Year's weekend in Hawaii where the whole family has escaped for another wedding, Jamie notices his country-music superstar brother Jude in a hallway being ravaged by his tall, hot, ex-Marine bodyguard Derek--which shocks him because Jude is supposed to be straight (we know he's not because Blue tells us this secret in the first book).

    That brings us to "Jumping Jude," which presents us with the Jude-Derek situation, in which both are deeply closeted but in the end it's Derek who cannot force himself to come out. This leads to a major rift that lasts longer than it should because Derek--like Teddy and Blue before him--simply has his head up his ass about relationships.

    Each of the books has basically the same plot, but each of the MCs stand out as brilliantly constructed individuals. The covers are absolutely spot-on--you can see the family resemblance in Blue, Jamie and Jude. The sex is explosive and there are a great many sex scenes, each of which stands alone as a lead-up to the next encounter.

    In the end, what is implied in the author's note is that she is not done. See, the Marians became very involved in the LGBTQ community when Blue and Jamie came out, and they adopted three young gay men who are now in college--and I think Ms. Lennox has some more Marians to be made. That would be wonderful, because this is one clan I can say lives up to family values.

    This was so much fun to read! From the moment they met right until the end, I absolutely loved Tristan and Blue. All of their interactions were heartfelt, and the humour throughout well written and provided a good balance and flow to the novel. The introduction of Tristan to Blue's family was especially hilarious!

    Tristan and Blue might have started out as a 'get revenge against Blue's ex' arrangement, but it very quickly moved into something more. The chemistry between them was off the charts, as was their love, genuine care and respect for each other. Didn't hurt that their intimate moments were hot as hell either!

    I loved Blue's family - given this is the first book in the series it was a great way to introduce them all. I can't wait to read the rest of the series and get to know the Marian clan in more detail.

    Definitely a series I would recommend, and this author is fast becoming a favourite of mine.

    I just fell in love with these two. I can't say i liked one more than the other because i just loved them.

    Blue is a very nice, good at heart and gorgeous man that was having trouble feeling special and desired after being left by his boyfriend under excuse that he was never good or interesting enough.

    Tristan is a winery and lodge owner that is about to host his brother’s wedding party. One night, he is having some relaxing time after work at his own lodge bar and he meets Blue.

    Under excuse of giving Blue’s ex some of his own medicine, they make a pact at acting as pretending boyfriends for the whole wedding preparation week.

    The plan is perfect but it did not on the reality of them being simply perfect together.

    I normally love LL’s book. She really knows how to create adorable, sweet and yet deep and interesting characters and this book is one of her best.
