Ineligible Receiver: A Friends-to-Lovers MM Sports Romance (The Package Deal Series - Book 5) Kindle Edition
A sexy and emotional story about two best friends that secretly fall in love, but struggle to keep a heartbreaking secret from tearing them apart.
When I met Greg Foster, the straight tight end for the Portland Pirates, the rookie needed a friend to bring him out of his shell. There was more to the shy twenty-two-year-old bookworm than met the eye, and I was the perfect person for the task. My roommate and best friend, Christian, was involved with the Pirates QB, so a new friend to hang out with was good.
I pushed down my attraction to him and became the best friend he ever had. We bar-hopped all over Portland and played video games in our apartments. We even loved the same indy band from Seattle.
Then we fucked up when we fell in love. And by fucked up, I mean we got married even though we knew our marriage had to remain a secret.
No one knew about us. Not even our closest friends. And every time they asked, we gave them the same line... we're just friends.
And ultimately, the reason for that secret would tear us apart. Now, here I was three years after meeting him, and wasn’t sure how to survive without him. He was the love of my life, and I was his.
Ineligible Receiver is a friends-to-lovers and bi-awakening story and Book 5 in The Package Deal Series.

Rheland is the ultimate bookworm, TV enthusiast, popcorn and ice cream connoisseur (Sweet and Salt is the best), and lover of all things cute and girly! From a young age, Rheland has been entranced by the magic of storytelling, diving headfirst into worlds of romance (before she was allowed to), and mysteries.
When she's not reading the latest romance novel or binge-watching her favorite TV shows (no horror, please!), you can find her writing stories of found families and forevers for her men.
Rheland is a hopeless romantic through and through with dreams of happily ever afters and swoon-worthy moments.
Rheland invites you to join her on a journey of laughter, love, and happily ever afters for her characters. So cozy up with a mug of cocoa or a glass of wine and prepare to fall head over heels for Rheland's men.

Emerson Beckett is new to the publishing world. As an avid sports fan and lover of well-written M/M romance books, Emerson loves her new career as an author of gay romance. It’s even more fulfilling for her when she can combine the two.
The journey to becoming an author started with an idea while reading on the sofa. That idea became an email that ultimately resulted in Emerson using those teacher skills to edit novels for three phenomenal MM romance authors. The third referral led to an opportunity to co-write a book series with one of the most genuine and kindest people she’s ever had the pleasure of knowing- Rheland Richmond.
Emerson is the co-author of The Package Deal Series, which includes The Quarterback Keeper, Pass Interference, Unnecessary Roughness, Two-Point Conversion, and three more upcoming books in the series. She will release her first solo novel in late spring 2023.
Besides being a retired teacher and author, Emerson lives in North Carolina and has been married to the same man for 32 years. She is the mother of three beautiful adults, one of whom is proudly part of the LGBTQ Community and completely responsible for her addiction to MM Romance. Even though the kids no longer live at home, they filled the empty nest with an Australian Shepherd, three cats, and a cute bunny rabbit.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2024I messed up and read the EHM protectors series first, so it was really nice to go back and see this from Cooper's POV. Both of these series have been amazing (even if you don't like sports) and I would definitely read again.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2024Love all these characters. Out of all the books so far, this story was the hardest to get
The first 18 chapters are flash back from the first 4 books. Once we get to the present day, the story of Greg and Cooper picks up. However, this is a highly emotional story.
The bond between all these men is strong and shines through. When they finally get their hea, it freeing.
I highly recommend this whole series.
4/5 stars
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2024There was a different vibe to it unlike the other books in the series that just made it more enjoyable even though the authors didn’t stray too far from their og tropes.
You really feel for Cooper and Greg throughout this book and especially Cooper for me.
However, Greg’s excuse just wasn’t good enough imo. I understand firsthand what the fear of homophobes and conversion therapy can instill in you but Greg has ample resources at his disposal to end the conflict. The angst definitely didn’t have to go on that long. If Aidan could work with everyone else to help them w/ their custody issues, then he definitely could have helped Greg remove Brock from their parent’s house 2 years earlier.
It also didn’t explain why he couldn’t at the very least tell the group when it was clear as day that they were involved.
The picking of the best men was really cute and untraditional. Looking forward to the last one.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2024Getting this story from beginning to end was amazing. Wonderful character development for these two and even the friends we’ve already met in other books. Greg was closeted because of his family, with no plans to come out anytime soon so he could protect his brother. It eventually wears thin on Coop and they almost don’t make it. The end of this story with their best men sums up everything, great story!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2023This book probably broke my heart, the most out of this entire series… Cooper and Greg weathered and amazing storm, and came out together on the other side. It honestly was heartbreaking to read. I cried over them - legit full on cried when Cooper decided he’d had enough.
The first 50% of the book is a time travel backwards to when they first met all the way up until the prologue/present day. And then it’s from that point forward and how they prove that love can conquer all.
Once we got back to the present the steam got up to where I expected it be and it was worth the wait.
This story ended so beautifully. It honestly feels like a series Ender with the way that everyone is moving forward and settle down and all loose ends are tied up. But then we got one more sneak peek for Dom and Jessie! I cannot wait to see what those two get up to.
Go Pirates ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2023I struggled to finish the last few chapters otherwise it was a decent read I don’t mind the closet trope but 2 years is excessive especially when he was binding from his close friends who were also LGBTQ that part just didn’t makes sense no matter how you try to explain it.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2024What a journey these guys took! Look, this book will take you on a roller coaster of a ride with the love these two share. If I could, it would be more than five stars. Love these guys!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2023Finally we get Cooper and Greg’s full story! They were always side characters who needed their own HEA. Hope we see more of the Foster family.

5.0 out of 5 stars My heart!
This book ripped out my heart, put it back, and then ripped it out again before putting it back.
These two together are amazing. They went through a lot to get to their happily ever after.
I love them and their extended family.

5.0 out of 5 stars A terrific addition to the series.
Cooper had already stolen my heart in previous books and to finally get his and Greg’s story was wonderful. These men had me on a roller coaster of emotion from the first page to the terrific ending. Their story had everything I look for in a book, heartbreaking and heartwarming emotion, some angst and heat, and I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books in the series
I loved this book so much, I absolutely adored the attention to detail that writers had with this book. I am looking forwards to the next book but sad that it will be the last. If we could get a short story/ novella on Patrick would be chef’s kiss!

3.0 out of 5 stars not to bad
I have read reviews and think I must look for different things in a book. As there is no way you could not disclose your relationship for two years for that stupid reason omg it was so weak. There was no reason what so ever Greg couldn’t tell Cooper either, that was the worst. Some of the in between was okay. But the reason was soooooooo poor.
