Never Have I Ever: Wanted my Brother's Rival Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 2,007 ratings

“Why is the one person I hate the only guy I can’t stop thinking about?”

West, my older brother’s high school rival. The rich kid who has it all. The guy who disappeared six years ago and destroyed my brother’s life.

I thought West and I were friends. I trusted him, but he showed me I was nothing more to him than a means to an end.

Being twenty and in my last year of college isn’t easy. Neither is being a virgin. I’ve never been normal or felt like I fit in, and I don’t feel what I’m supposed to.

My online job has given me the perfect way to solve my virginity problem, but then the last person I ever wanted to see again shows up on my doorstep. Not only has West learned what I do for a living, he’s essentially my landlord.

I hate him. So why can’t I stay away from him? Why is he the only person I’ve ever felt a connection with, who makes me feel like there’s something in me worth wanting?

Eli and West’s story is an enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romance between a former bad boy who seemingly has it all and an awkward genius who’s never felt like he fits in. Expect lots of banter and hot first times as these two try (and fail) to stay away from each other. It is the fourth novel in the steamy Never Have I Ever series but can be read as a standalone.

What can I say about myself? It’s kind of like being the new kid in school and being asked to tell everyone a bit about yourself. Anyone else forget everything they’ve ever liked, thought of, and even their name in those moments?

A few facts about me; I’m Canadian, and I love books! I’ve been writing my own stories since I was eight and wrote my first novel at sixteen. I’m the first to admit those attempts weren’t my best work, but they started me on a journey of creating stories that has led me to fulfilling my dream of becoming an author, and I’m so happy to be able to share my stories with people today.

I currently live on Canada’s east coast with my kiddo and my cat. I have a shoe collecting addiction, and I enjoy reading anything and everything I can get my hands on.

The final book in this series and what a perfect way to go!

The final book in this series and what a perfect way to go!
The final instalment of the Never Have I Ever series!! Finally we have Eli’s story and it was exactly as good as I’d hoped it would be! Eli is our mysterious camboy who just happens to be a virgin. He decides to get it over with and auction off his virginity and who should happen to be anonymously watching but his former best friend and his brother’s high school rival. West also happens to be the property manager for Eli’s building and when some unexpected flooding means Eli needs a place to stay guess who steps in. What follows is a beautiful mix of enemies to lovers and second chance romance. We learn what really happened six years ago and the boys learn to trust each other again 🥹 It was just gorgeous. And since Eli continues camming (with West watching him and sometimes giving instructions 🥵🥵🥵) this book is so very spicy 😍🌶️👌🏻 I really enjoyed this final chapter in the series and it sets up the next series quite nicely as book 1 of the Crimson Club series will feature Eli’s brother, Grey. Also also the epilogue was so flipping good and it was pure joy to have all the boys come back together one last time before the series ended 🥲 I received an advanced copy for review - all opinions are my own.

I have been waiting to read Eli's story, and this did not disappoint. Eli has his quirks and such a beautiful mind. I loved his personality and vibe. West was so sweet and protective but also harbored some bad issues with his father. I loved their back story and past they shared. The spice was spicin in this 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Seeing all the roommates making appearances was amazing! I'm sad to see this series go, but I loved them all. Onto the next Willow Dixon series!

Summary: Eli is shocked to learn that his new property manager is West, his former friend and his brother, Gray’s, high school rival. It’s been six years since they’ve seen each other, and Eli is still angry with West for how is actions cost Gray his future, and left himself friendless. But West comes to Eli’s rescue during a storm, and forced proximity gives them a chance to air grievances and start to get to know each other again.

Review: This is the last book in the Never Have I Ever series, and it focuses on Eli, the youngest member of the household. In the first couple of books, Eli was a bit mysterious. We learned more about him in the third book—his amazing memory and intelligence, his work as a cammer, his loneliness. I loved how the roommates all rallied around Eli at the end of the last book. So it was really good to get to see his story and have him get his HEA. Even though he has a loving family, his experience with everyone else in his life has left him feeling unworthy and so not normal that he doesn’t think it’s possible for him to have real relationships—that’s why is was so nice for the roommates to all take him under their wing. And here, with West, it’s lovely to see Eli start to heal some of those hurts and unlearn some of that negativity. It’s sweet, too, the things that Eli learns about himself—like his love language is to do things for his partner. And this is just what West needs.

West is damaged, too. He may not have been bullied the way Eli was, but his family treats him like a tool or a commodity. So when Eli starts to do things to take care of him, it soothes something in his soul. They are a perfect match because they each are able to give exactly what the other needs to receive. They are both so supportive of each other.

I like that the problem between West and Gray is not magically solved. The lingering aftermath can’t be easily done away with. I do wish more time had been spent with that though. I wish we’d seen more of Eli’s internal struggle with contacting Gray, and that we had seen him making the decision to ignore Gray’s texts and invitations. It felt so out of left field when we learn about it.

I love how much we get of the roommates. It’s always fun to see the characters we’ve already gotten to know. I also loved that the epilogue is so far in the future. That made me very happy!

I’m looking forward now to getting Gray’s story and starting the new series!

I have absolutely been loving this series and I was eagerly awaiting Eli's story after getting to know him a little in the previous books. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I loved everything about it. The initial tension between Eli and West, based on history from when they were younger, was pretty tense but they gradually got to reconnect with each other due to a forced proximity situation. They were able to clear some things up from their past, and then started to slowly rebuild their relationship. This was done so well. West had to work to earn Eli's trust and slowly unravel the protective wall Eli had built around himself. Their connection was strong right off the bat and I loved how understanding and patient West was with Eli. They were just so sweet together. And let me tell you they were also SAF once they took things to the next level. Eli got to experience all his firsts with West and they fit so well together in the bedroom. We got a lot of smoking hot scenes mixed in with the perfect amount of conversation, tenderness, and swoon. I just really liked both of them so much. There was no big misunderstanding and no confusion due to lack of communication. They had some obstacles to overcome and they tackled them without running from each other, which was so refreshing. We also got time with all the guys from the previous books and, while this can standalone, I strongly recommend reading the whole series to get the most enjoyment. Every book is great. I loved the dynamic between Eli and his brother Gray and wished we got a little more of them together, but I am thrilled Gray will be getting his own book in a spin off series! I'm hope this means we will see Eli and West again. What a great ending to a fabulous series!

He struggled in his younger years for being smart. Bullying is not fun and to take it out on someone. I’m glad he found his love and they became one

Eli has been the mysterious and elusive roommate the whole series and he finally gets his HEA! Both Eli and West have quite sad backstories and learning about them, and how as young men they’re marrying who they were as children and who they want to be as men was a sweet journey. I would have enjoyed more of Gray in the book as he was the big shadow hanging over their relationship yet we don’t see him on page until near the very end. Eli is one steamy AF cam boy! Willow Dixon wrote some super hot entertaining scenes that had me fanning my face. The whole forced proximity was perfect to get these two former friends turned practically strangers to reconnect and finally face their mutual attraction.

The epilogue where we got a long term update on all our fave roommates was perfection. Super excited for the spinoff set at the club Kai and Gray work at.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enemies (or are they?) to lovers

I’ve recently discovered this series and I absolutely love it. There are tropes galore in this one, a bit of angst, plenty of heat and a romance that builds beautifully. There are past issues and drama that have to be resolved, as well as cameos from the main characters of the previous books in the series (all highly recommended, by the way).

Eli and West are great characters, and their connection is fantastic throughout, even when they’re kind of supposed to be enemies. We get some great backstory on them both, and I really enjoyed getting Eli’s story after meeting him as a side character.

    Go read the whole series!

The final book in the series was so dang cute and sweet. Eli is adorable and I love him.

West comes back into Eli’s life after disappearing 6 years ago and happens to now he his property manager. When he turns up to fix a problem at the house Eli is shocked - and angry. Little does Eli know that West has been watching him for months, just online, watching his cam show and sending tips.

When Eli auctions off his virginity West wins the auction and when he confronts Eli about it he says he won’t claim his prize and that he wants to be friends again. Which makes Eli more mad and also insecure that West wouldn’t want him. Went makes it clear he does want him but if it is going to happen, it will happen when he says and when he’s sure Eli actually wants him in return.

After another issue with the house leaves the place flooded, West brings Eli home to stay with him for a few days while it’s fixed and the two clear the air and start a friends with benefits arrangement that doesn’t really last long as the two catch all the feels for each other.

This was such a gorgeous ending to the series and a sneak peak into the next (which I have already read not realising this one was first lol). There was lots of emotion, heat and gorgeous connection and family in this story and I loved it!

I absolutely loved this whole series and I’m sad it’s over! This book was the perfect ending to it.

I absolutely love Eli’s character. Being academically smart, socially awkward and naive is just so relatable to how I was at his age. Seeing him grow and change was so beautiful.

I’m not usually into “second chances” but the dynamic between West and Eli was incredible.
