    Calixto is so damn adorable! He's always loved Sir Prince from afar so what's stopping him from loving him up close and personal? Only the belief that Sir is straight thanks to his SIX ex-wives. Little does Calixto know that the biggest hurdle is Sir needing to get his head out of his ass about their age gap. 🤣 hilarity and good feelings abound in this adorable story. And there are some great cameos with familiar characters from previous stories. Love this!

    I fell in love with Calixto when he was first introduced. He is one of the most adorable characters Ariella has written since Elias. And I have to admit I was a bit concerned about having him in an age gap book with Sir. I just couldn’t see him in an age-gap relationship. Was I ever wrong! He and Sir are PERFECT together.

    Sir is a bit lost when he comes to see Lix perform as him in his tribute band. And the sparks immediately fly. I loved this story. It really took me by surprise how much. The side characters are phenomenal. Sir’s best friend Melody is a kick. She has a significant role in his life and I love the fact they’ve stayed so close.

    As I said, this book really took me by surprise. I always love Ariella’s books. But I’m not an age gap fan and this one… I absolutely loved it!! You don’t sense an age gap at all between them. They complement each other well. And I’m looking forward to seeing a little more of them in the next book.

    I enjoyed this book so much and was in serious danger of cuteness overload while reading this. Calixto is one of those “old souls” combined with a sweet, shy, charming cutie and amazing insight. Sir as a person is a lot more complex than I would have originally thought and it’s fun watching him succumb to Calixto’s allure. The addition of Melody and Mister as new characters is perfect to round out the story and I can’t wait for Mister and Kinsey’s book.

    This was a perfect breather from some of the angsty reads I’ve read recently. I always love the characters in Ariella Zoelle books and Calixto and Sir are so good together. I’m a fan of age gap stories and this is an excellent one. It has charming leads, and it’s both sweetly romantic and super hot. Plus, I absolutely love this author’s sense of fun and humor. It’s not all fluff, it also has a lovely emotional undercurrent with Sir and his struggle over their twenty year age gap and his six failed marriages. But thankfully, Calixto is the a pretty mature twenty year old and very irresistible, so there is a lovely happy ending.

    I'm a huge, huge fan of this author's work, the instalove and steam and sweetness are usually absolute wins for me, but this pairing felt...off. The ick I felt about the attractiveness of the younger guy being physically similar to the son and the attraction seemingly stemming from that...I just couldn't get around it. I know they made it kind of clear that that wasn't really the case, but it was a case of the icks that I just couldn't shake. Not even the sweetness, the individual strengths they had as characters could fully wash it off.

    But, I will say, if you can get around that like I couldn't, then you're likely in for a treat. The tenderness, passion, and banter were there.

    Skip a Beat by Ariella Zoelle is the 5th book in her Harmony of Hearts series. If you have read the others in this series then you have been introduced to many of the side characters as well as Calixto and Sir from this one that are bound together by the music they love to produce. Sir is 40 and a member of the very famous rock band The Four Princes, which is formed by 4 brothers. He has also had 6 marriages with only one true love, his first, but they didn’t work out but remain best friends. Calixto is 20 and a student at Sunnyside University in California studying music and music business and also in a tribute band called the Faux Princes where he portrays Sir. He is an amazing singer whose dream is to be discovered but it hasn’t happened yet. Sir is staying in Sunnyside for two months where his eldest brother, Mister, and his best friend ex-wife both live so he can see them. Mister has heard Calixto and invites Sir to see him where he is amazed by the feelings Calixto’s singing form in him. Calixto has been secretly in love with him and is thrilled to meet him and tell him things he has learned about him and that he sees behind the rockstar to the real Sir. Thus begins the relationship between the two of them as they discover everything about each other and that they are meant to be. I really enjoyed this story. Sir had some misgivings about being with Calixto but he shot them all down with his sweetness and caring as well as what his singing did to him. The side characters were wonderful as they tried to protect both of them and this was the first time that his brother and ex-wife agreed that they were good for each other. The story was very slow burn as details about both men were revealed until their love was very apparent. I was especially blown away by Ms. Zoelle’s ability to write lyrics that went with the tone of the story (I wish I could actually hear them with the music!) and how she manipulated the characters in a way that has you rooting for them every step of the way. She also knows what goes on in the music business so I learned some things about that, too. Being a music major in college I have loved all the books in this series as they speak to my heart. I highly recommend this one, as I do all of them, and am looking forward to reading more from this author.

    Another sweet story about two people finding their dream person.
    It's short and fast paced, but it's a good little read if that's what you're looking for. The story doesn't drag on anywhere, and the characters are funny. I love how you get to see characters from other books in each book from the series.
    Also, the mention that wearing a corset isn't uncomfortable tells me good research went into this book. If opera singers can sing with one on, there's no reason for anyone else being uncomfortable in them other than bad planning or design, or both.

    Very low angst and very hot. Just a bit of a fun read, if you're fed up with reading tales full of angst. Calixto is cute, and so nice, everyone loves him to bits, and is protective of him. I did find the names of some of the characters a bit weird, found it hard to get my head round, Sir, Master etc.... but that's on me! I also found it a little strange that Sir kept going on about how Calixto looked like a young him, and then fell in ust with said Calixto! Narcissistic much! Still an OK read, didn't enjoy it as much as some of the author 's previous books though.
