Fickle : Mpreg MM Gay Romance Kindle Edition
Seducing alphas makes me feel powerful. I enjoy the physical connection but don’t want the intimacy of a real relationship. My inability to connect emotionally to others stems from being unloved as a child. And I am not exaggerating.
I do love one person, though. My straight best friend, Cabe.
We’re very different. Cabe makes lots of plans while I live my life free and easy. Even so, we’ve been besties since we were kids. We even live together. I never really saw Cabe as anything but my platonic friend until he started giving me heated, confused looks. I’m positive I see attraction in his eyes. I have a lot of experience with alphas, so I should know.
But Cabe has a girlfriend. Sort of. They haven’t slept together in a while. She’s nagging him to move in with her, but I don’t want him going anywhere. My biggest fear is he’ll marry her just to prove he’s not gay.
I think Cabe should explore these new feelings.
With me.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2023But boy, did Cabe and Pilot get on my nerves!! Pilot with his running away every minute, and Cabe with his denial!! But once they got out of their own way, they were just what each other needed. Good story!!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2023I enjoyed reading this book. It was a relaxing read, with a decent story and good characters. Also, enjoy this author's books.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2023I love Beau Brown and his books!!! I adore the MM pregnancy books and this one is awesome 👍 I was right there in the book with and arguing with Cane to get his "stuff" together and Pilot is great
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2023“I’ve been in this with you since kindergarten, Cabe. It wasn’t the Hostess cupcake that kept me coming back for more. It was always you.”
I'm a sucker for the bi-awakening/gay-for-you tropes and I've enjoyed a few other books by this author, so I was definitely happy to pick this one up. I liked both Cabe and Pilot (I'm sorry I do not like that as a person's name and it kept distracting me)- though sometimes his attitude and stubbornness annoyed me. Though I understood it was usually born out of fear. I liked the dynamic between them. The changes in their relationship and Cabe's hesitancy of his attraction was believable. The story had tension and drama and a horrible ex girlfriend. I hated the poor communication trope unnecessarily making things worse or delaying things. But overall I liked this couple as a couple and wanted their happy ending. 4 stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2023I guess the title is fitting, Pilot is Fickle but I understand why. I couldn’t imagine not loving and supporting my kids for any reason but I know some people don’t. I feel that Cabe and Pilot probably had feelings for each other for a lot longer than they thought. I did get very angry at Cabe through the first 1/3 to 1/2 of the book! I wanted to shake some sense into him! I think he should feel very blessed that Pilot had patience with him. I totally loved their HEA! “I received an advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my honest review”
- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2023This review is a bit difficult to write. There were things I liked in the story but there were also quite a few things that threw the story off for me. I was almost sure I wouldn't finish the story but then it picked up and threw a few curves. Then the ending felt a little unsatisfying to me but I appreciated the HEA.
I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion
- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2023This felt like two different books. In the beginning I felt like I was being gaslighted into believing that Pilot was the villain somehow but every other character was so much more unlikeable that it was confused how I could think that. I severely disliked Cabe. Regardless of whether or not he was struggling with his feelings for Pilot he was just plain mean to him at times. The slut shaming was too much and then Pilot would be expected to be the one to apologize and grovel and change. And then I was supposed to feel bad for Cabe and believe that his hang ups for not wanting to be with Pilot were that Pilot was noncommittal? That was the least of Cabes problems. He was a whiny man child who, despite constantly telling Pilot to grow up, needed to do his own growing up. Lydia was horrific and I wanted her out of the book. I felt sorry for her at no point in time. Not once.
Then the second half it was like Cabe was a new character.
All of the problems were rushed and contrived and despite the fact that Beau Brown is usually a pretty good writer I almost quit this book several times. It needs some work.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 20234.75 stars. I need just a bit more of these two actually living in their new relationship to bump it to a full 5. Cabe has let himself fall into a deep rut. He's determined to have the picture of how life is supposed to look in his mind. Too bad that he's in love with Pilot. Pilot has a truckload of issues and he uses sex to block out his feelings. Good storyline and relatable characters.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok read
3 stars - It was OK read
I'm struggling with this review as the basis of the story was good, but there were so many times that I just wanted to "fix" things in the story. I can't say what, though, as it will spoil the book. Let's just say timelines should have been better managed & a bit more research on who takes care of who in a hospital. Something else that disappointed was the last chapter. It felt like the author was giving a summation of the story by using the characters having a chat. Just didn't leave me feeling all the happy "vibes" I get from a HEA.
