Morgan Brice is the romance pen name of bestselling author Gail Z. Martin. Morgan writes urban fantasy MM paranormal romance, with plenty of action, adventure and supernatural thrills to go with the happily ever after. Gail writes epic and urban fantasy, with less romance, more explosions.

All of the modern-day Morgan Brice and Gail Z. Martin series crossover, so characters from one series appear in cameos and on page in important secondary roles in books from other series. This book was different from the first in a few ways but stuck true to the narrative and feel of the first. The main difference between the stories was the lack of spicy in the plot proper. We did not get anything spicy until the epilogue and it was only one scene. This is the second way in which the books differed, the mating wasn’t “easy”. Like the first book, the fated mates was recognized early and easily for the MC especially considering the established relationship from book 1. Until the first book, the MC were faced with struggles from the start.

I didn’t miss the lack of spicy and honestly without it the story was still great. I finished it in less then 2 days of reading and am excited for the third installment.

    3.5 stars, rounded to a 4.

‘Again’ is book 2 in Morgan Brice’s new series. I have not read book 1 and while there are lots of references to the Huntsman having kidnapped Noah, I was able to read it as a standalone without much issue. However, I would recommend going back and starting with book 1 for the background information, as well as Drew’s brother’s story. The book begins with Noah in the hospital after the events of book 1. Drew is helping to look after him as he’s in a strange town. They immediately realize they’re fated mates but both don’t say anything as it’s too soon after Noah’s capture to act on. I am a big fan of shifter, fated mate books. This one was new for me that the fated mates acknowledge what they are to each other but still date like regular humans and are always questioning with their friends and their inner monologue if they’ll end up together, that it’s too serious more than the most basic intimacy and carry on a long distance relationship. I liked this different approach for the most part. The added part of the story of them being a true pairing was really well done, with bits of memories surfacing as dreams. What I am more surprised about is how much of the book they spend apart. Outside of chapter 1, they aren’t in the same room as each other for most of the book. The action/suspense part of the story was well done, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time rooting for them both as Noah and Drew are both likeable characters. The first half of the book kinda dragged for me, and I wasn't all that invested until Noah inadvertently witnesses the murder and that's where things heated up. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Drew and Noah were absolutely wonderful. As not just fated mates, but a true pairing, they have lived life after life together. But something is threatening their happiness. Once this gets moving, the action is nonstop until they manage to eliminate the danger. I love how this author throws little hints into her books to other interconnected stories that all add up to one extensive set. All are amazing and worth reading. I love these characters and it’s like finding little presents in an already good book. Oh and the audio!!!!! Oh my gosh. John Solo is absolutely amazing and does such an awesome job. I could listen to him all day.

Again is part of Morgan Brice’s Fox Hollow Zodiac series. It takes place immediately following the events in book 1, Huntsman. Noah, a lynx shifter, is one of the shifters captured by the huntsman. Drew, a wolf shifter, is chosen to help Noah through his recovery. Despite the seriousness of the situation, Noah and Drew are immediately attracted to each other. Their animal halves know they are fated mates. There is another connection Noah and Drew share that adds a lot to the story. In Morgan Brices’s shifter stories the animal half and the human half are like two separate beings in one body. They communicate with each other. Their interactions are often humorous and break up the tension a bit. Noah’s lynx plays a big role in Again. Drew’s brother Russ and his mate Liam, the mc’s from book one also play a big role in this book. For this reason, I suggest reading Huntsman first. I highly recommend the Fox Hollow Zodiac series and all of Brice’s books in the Fox Hollow universe.

I received a copy for an honest review.

I really like Morgan Brice's stories but this one seemed a little rushed and incomplete. This is the story of Noah (Lynx Shifter) and Drew (Wolf Shifter). Drew is Russ' younger brother from the first book in the series Huntsman. Noah was the other captive held with Liam. Drew is assigned as a liaison to Noah while he recovers in Fox Hollow. They quickly realize that they are fated mates and being a long distance relationship when Noah returns to his job as a wildlife photographer after he recuperates. Noah stumbles upon a murder of a cryptid while on a shoot by an exotic entertainment hunter and his guide, and so begins the chase. Both Drew and Noah have dreams about past lives with each other, most ending badly, and realize that they have been reincarnating, finding each other to only lose one another in tragic deaths. Drew goes on a mission to figure out their past connection and the reason why their tragedies continue to follow them.

The story gets resolved too quickly with too many loose threads.

    ***SPOILER
We find out that they were cursed in a past life by a sham wizard who bungled the spell and tied their fates together into a tragedy, but we are never told exactly why. I would guess it was jealousy but it's still vague.

Noah evades his pursuers for a long time but is eventually critically injured. He is rescued in the nick of time and the guide captured. We later learn that the guide was the reincarnation of the wizard. He is tried by the Supernatural Tribunal but that's it. We don't really get to hear about the proceedings and his reasons for doing what he did.

    Again - Huntsman 2

    Morgan Brice

Fox Hollows is a mythical town, that misfit shifters who didn’t fit with their own kind founded as a haven. Later, a cluster of psychics arrived and set up their own parapsychology department at the local Uni.

One rule amongst the mix of predators and pray; 'don't eat your neighbour', and it's kept the menageries of shifters safe and happy for years.

In the previous book, Drew's older brother Russ rescued his fox mate Liam from the Huntsman, and Drew met lynx shifter Noah during the rescue.

His wolf insisted they were mates.

Three months later, Drew and Noah are in a long distance relationship as Noah continues to travel for his photography job.

It's out on a photo shoot that Noah suddenly finds himself in danger, out in the wild; pursued by a cryptid trophy hunter.

We have the sense of danger but prior to that, we have the fun stuff, as well as it being sprinkled through the narrative.

Noah arguing with his lynx - who basically speaks in his head like a giant house cat - is very funny. Especially as the cat denies that the squeaky toys are toys; insisting instead, that they're prey for practice.

I love the fact that the local cafe is Bear Necessities Café, and it's run by a bear shifter couple, with Jack the possum shifter being the experimental baker of random donut flavours.

We meet him in an early Fox Hollows novella, Trash and Treasure.

The diversity of shifters and psychic powers as well as 'day jobs' in the Fox Hollows universe is wonderful, and reading about the town and it's beauty makes me want to visit. Not really possible - it's a mythical town set in the real world - but gosh it's wonderful to read about and immerse yourself in it.

Other elements that add to world are Mutt (an adorably cute and silly German Shepherd shifter), Farrah and the Fox theatre that Liam works at and the things like the fire station fundraiser, which cements the paranormal stories in a concrete setting.

Once the main story kicks off, the action and drama kick off, and doesn't stop until the finale.

And this one is my favourite of the lot.

It's full of tension, danger, humour, chemistry and romance.

The back story and some of the things we discover are fantastic - and I won't spoil it for you.

A tremendous book, great characters and a fabulous ending.

    Wonderful and heart warming.

Another well written tale with some of our favourite shifters and Fox Hollow Institute alumni. Amazing build up to the dramatic conclusion, with a great balance of action, drama, romance, and suspense. Love the world building and can't wait for another book in the series.

It’s weird when you read a book and suddenly it mentions the city you live in, like Ottawa is where Noah and I are from. Shouldn’t make a difference as to how much you like the book but luckily this is a terrific book as well. This book builds on the story from “Huntsman” and I recommend that you read it first because you will get a lot more out of this one if you do. Noah and Drew meet in the aftermath of the events of the first book but they live in different countries and also some other difficulties that they think are over are still causing problems. I’m trying not to give anything away so I will just say that you probably never saw all of that coming! Adventure, love, shifters, magic, more adventure and more interesting stories. Enjoy

Drew is a wolf shifter, Noah is a Lynx shifter. They meet after Noah is rescued after being kidnapped by a huntsman(end if book 1 in the series). Drew is assigned to Noah as a buddy so that he doesn’t feel alone in a strange town with nobody to know. Drew’s wolf recognises Noah as his mate straightaway.
Drew is a wildlife photographer, while away filming he accidentally captures a guide/poacher killing a cryptid, the poacher comes after him and it’s a race to survive. Drew, his family and friends find him in time.

I enjoyed the story and how Drew and Noah fell in love.

It’s nice to return to Fox Hollow, catch up with “friends”, to see how Noah and Drew are recovering.
At first I thought “Oh, this one’s going to be a gentle, long distance, get to know each other slow burn romance and I settled in for the sweet! Then Bam! We’ve got a Bigfoot, murdering bad guys, a hunt, for goodness sake, and even a curse. What made me laugh though were the worms…..
This series is a joy, I can’t wait for more adventures.
