4.2 out of 5 stars 20 ratings

Peter, a middle-aged realtor, doesn't think he'll ever find love again and Danny, a friend of Peter's son, is content with one-night stands. Will they set aside their age difference and life goals when they cross paths at a business conference and their unexpected meeting heats up?

Peter has a secret. One he has kept under wraps since he was a teenager. One he kept from his wife for 37 years. It's only after his wife passes away that Peter decides to explore the secret of his sexuality. After a misunderstanding, a young man who is a friend of his son and someone he knows through his real estate business ends up on his doorstep while at a conference in Vegas.

Danny has no intention of ever being in a long-term relationship again. He was burned badly by his last one. He has his work as a high-end real estate agent to keep him occupied. The money pours in and he always thought that would be enough to fulfill him. Then he knocks on the door of someone who was supposed to be an anonymous one-night fling.

With a 27-year age difference, will the chance encounter lead them both down a path they never would have expected? How are their families going to react?

You will love the characters. It has a age gap & first time gay sex. It is very well done.
I would love another one with them in it!!

Sweet and romantic story of two men who come together in what sounds like a contrived way, but is believable as written. The younger man is dumped at the altar by his boyfriend but decides to go on his Australian honeymoon alone. He develops a rapport with the bus driver. Through circumstances (only one room shared by the only two single guys) they are thrown together and fall in love.

The older man has never self-identified as gay but finds something new in himself. This pairing of a fully out young man with an apparent straight guy is a more compelling plot device than the age gap theme that is how the book is presented. I found it very satisfying.

This book was, ok. The story starts put interesting, but moves quickly and falls into a bit of a same old same old age gap story. Parts were rather predictable. Overall nice quick read when you’re bored but not one I would read again.

The book was well-written and had genuine emotion and connection. The MC’s had an instant connection and their chemistry was amazing. Even though there was a large age gap between Peter and Danny, they had a lot in common and it was enjoyable to get to know them as they got to know each other. I enjoyed the dynamics between them and watching their romance blossom over time. It was satisfying to watch them fall in love, even among all the chaos and problems that had arisen. I love this author’s writing style, and this was another book that was well worth the read.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved this book with the treatment of the 27 year age gap between Peter and Danny, from their first “hookup”, through their instant attraction then emotional involvement, the time spent talking and learning more about each other as they found things they had in common and past experiences that had formed who they were, through the challenges with family and colleagues, and the personal reflections both went through as they contemplated what their relationship could mean in the present but also in the years to come with the changes aging can bring. I don’t know if looking at this from the upper side 70 would be a lot different from a reader in their 30s or 40s, but there is something to be said for life experiences and how you view things. I was glad to see Peter embrace his feelings about himself and Danny, and for Danny to realize that sometimes, age is just a number when hearts are involved. The ending left me with a sense of satisfaction and a smile on my face as the two faced the years ahead with optimism going forward.
This is a fairly short, easy to read book with characters and events that spoke to me.

I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Every part of this story is well written, even the part that makes you think Peter's son is selfish to the extreme. Peter doesn't allow that to keep him from the man of his dreams now that he finally has the chance to be himself. I loved the characters and the story a lot! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Peter is a man at a crossroads. All his life he has done what he is supposed to, even when it isn't easy. He married his high school sweetheart, adopted a son, and stood by them both when his son wrestled with addiction and his wife fought cancer. Now he is a widower facing a new truth: he has an attraction to men. While at a convention in Vegas, he takes a chance to experiment and uses a hookup app. But the man that shows up is Danny, a much younger friend of his sons. However, they discover they have several things in common in addition to their mutual attraction. There is a insta love quality to the story but that is to be expected with the length of the story

I loved this book. It has so many things going for it that I loved. The main characters, Peter and Danny, are both good guys just trying to deal with the hardness of life. Peter followed convention as a young man, getting married and having a son, but was harboring his true sexuality and identity. Not until the death of his wife does he finally deal with it. Whereas Danny, a friend of Peter's son, is much younger and has sworn off relationships given his heart has been broken. I loved how the two met on plane but loved even more when the realized their were one another's app hookup. A great book as one character is exploring who he is and the other is shutting down, but timing brings their hearts together but before they can find HEA so many issues to deal with, ie. the age gap, can Danny ever trust again, is Peter really serious or just exploring and how will he convince Peter he is serious. I read this one in one sitting as it is a nice balance between emotional connections and romance. I hope we get a follow up book as I felt there was much story left to tell for these two. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.
