Whiskey Business (Love in No Man's Land Series) Kindle Edition
When Marcus suggests we make a bet and if I win I get his ex’s ticket on a four day cruise, I’m not sure he’s for real. He doesn’t like to gamble and he hates to lose even more than I do. Yet, the allure of sharing a room with him for four glorious days is too tempting to resist.
To my surprise, I win, and Marcus doesn't resist the outcome. It's almost like he actually wanted to lose. But that would be crazy, right?
Things take an even wilder turn when Marcus's mom mistakes me for his fiancé, and neither of us corrects her. Now, his whole family believes we're engaged, and we're caught in a tangled mess of lies, with even his brother and our friends joining the charade.
Amidst the chaos, I have to admit that this plan might just be the best idea I've ever had. Well, except for our little rehearsal of a staged kiss, just in case we need to perform it in front of his family. That was the best idea ever, because with his hands on my waist and his mouth on mine I’m starting to think this fake relationship might be more real than either of us thought.
But when a past hookup threatens to expose everything, it forces Marcus to choose between revealing the truth or pretending I'm just like his former flame.
Can our fake relationship survive reality, or will it crumble under the weight of secrets and revelations?

- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2023Whiskey Business is the third book in the Love in No Man's Land series by Becca Jackson. This is a fake dating adjacent story with an age gap and pining from afar. This series should be read in order as some of the storyline goes across all of the books.
Marcus is dreading his family reunion coming up. It's a family cruise, and even though it's been a year since his fiancé ran off with half of his stuff, he still hasn't told his parents, who his ex had never even met. He makes a drunken bet with Ari where Ari has to join him on the cruise as the prize so he doesn't have to face them alone. Marcus never imagined Ari would claim to be his fiancé to make life easier for him. It may start fake, but things get real very quickly. Leaving Marcus to wonder how long he's felt this way about his friend.
Ari is starved for love in so many ways. His friends give him part of what he needs, so when the opportunity to go on the cruise comes up, he jumps on it with gusto. It's not a hardship when he's been basically half in love with Marcus for years. When he meets Marcus' parents, he instantly wants them to love him and continue showing him kindness, so he claims to the fiancé. He's surprised when Marcus lets things get real between them. And will it continue after the cruise ends?
It was a joy watching these men finally get together. There's a lot of pain surrounding both of them, but they learn and grow with the support of each other and their friends. Their friendship strengthened tenfold, and the sparks between them were off the charts.
I really enjoyed seeing their friends from the previous books and seeing what they've been getting up to (new friends, too). Duckie was especially hilarious, planting the ducks all around the ship.
I do wish there had been a bit more of the story when they get home from the cruise, but I think it ended how it should. Overall, I genuinely liked this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes low-angst rom-coms.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2023Marcus and Ari are really cute together, I enjoyed reading this from start to finish. Definitely going to be reading the other books in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2023I just loved this book. Ari is such a great character who is doing exactly what Marcus says. He is covering his pain. Such fun ang goings on through this book. Sweet and sexy as all get out! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2023WHISKEY BUSINESS is the third installment in the No Man's Land series. It should be read in the order the author intended as the story carries through each book.
Marcus has just come from a horrible breakup and has to go on a family planned cruise. Marcus has yet to tell his family he is no longer engaged. When the perfect drunken bet comes up between Marcus and Ari, Marcus knows he wants Ari with him and doesn't want to face his family alone. What Marcus doesn't expect is for Ari to claim to be his long lost fiancé that his family has never met. What started out as a fake relationship quickly finds its way into real territory.
I loved watching Marcus and Ari fall for each other. We've seen Ari's attraction to Marcus in past books and to see him finally showing Marcus that'd he'd just about do anything for him. Marcus has reasons to have his walls up but something about Ari easily breaks down every wall he's built around his heart. Super cute read. I can't wait for more from this series!
I was given a free copy of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2023This series is just so enjoyable. I love all of the characters, and I've been excited to learn more about the mysterious and generous Ari. To get Ari's story with Marcus as a fake dating/engagement, only one bed, friends to lover was all I could've hoped for. I had a feeling Ari was hiding a lot of earnestness under that flash, and I wasn't wrong. I was smitten with him from his first chapter. Honestly his first page. And Marcus is a big burly delight of a man.
The setting for most of the book is on a cruise with a family reunion, so there's lots of love to go around from parents and brothers to cousins and... more cousins. There's lots of time and space for shenanigans, practice kissing, off-shore excursions, hiding rubber duckies, and adorable men acting adorably.
If you're looking for a sweet, easy read that will make you smile (and maybe blush a little), this is it. Also, A GREAT FIRST KISS.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2023This is the third book in the series. I have read the previous books so I felt even more connected to all the characters. I just love Marcus and Ari. They have always had an attraction for each other from a far in previous books and I'm glad they finally got their HEA. This book was a fast read and I enjoyed every second of it. I loved how wondeful Marcus's family was to Ari before and after they learned the whole truth. I have never been on a cruise but after reading this book I think it might be fun to go on one. The only thing missing about this book was I wanted to see more of what happened after the cruise. I really, really wanted more about Ari and his dad, more detail, more on page. I hope there is another book coming because I really enjoy this series.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2023Marcus has a problem. He is about to take a family reunion cruise to introduce his fiance. The problem? He broke up with his fiance almost a year ago and he hasn't been brave enough to break the news to his parents. Luckily for him, his friend Ari is looking to get away after making the final break from the plans his father had laid out for him. Over the course of the cruise, Ari finds himself falling, not just for Marcus, but for his crazy family. And I loved that the HEA wasn't at the end of the cruise. The author gave us a peek of what their future could be,

4.0 out of 5 stars Fake dating, cruises, and loads of little rubber ducks….
I liked both Ari and Marcus from the previous books but didn’t get more than a tiny hint that perhaps they were a bit interested in one another (really different from Lucas and Carter), so I wasn’t sure how this book would unfold. I really enjoyed it, and I liked how we delved into their relationship and discovered more as time passed. (It felt like they were discovering a lot too!)
Marcus’s family was a hoot, the ducks were hilarious, and that cruise seemed like a lot of fun. I liked where things went with Ari’s family—not a magic fix but some possibilities. It was so lovely how Ari connected with Marcus’s mom. It was lovely to see these two figure out how to be together.
I received an ARC from GRR. This is my honest review.
