Resurrection Reprise: A Soulbound Universe Novel Kindle Edition
Spencer Bailey has spent his entire life under government oversight for something he can’t change: his magic’s affinity for breaking souls. After surviving the end of the world, Spencer joins the Supernatural Operations Agency with the intention of keeping his head down and his hands clean.
Tasked with tracking down a stolen artifact, Spencer wants to run his first case with the SOA by the book. The master vampire of the Seattle Night Court won’t make that easy. Takoma is demanding and possessive, used to getting what he wants, and he lures Spencer into his Night Court with the seductive promise of freedom.
In the Pacific Northwest, ghosts are crawling out of the woodwork, demons are on the rise, and Spencer can’t afford to make a mistake. Torn between the life he should lead and the one Takoma is offering, Spencer has to make a choice that won’t break his soul, but it might just shatter his heart.
Resurrection Reprise is an exciting new standalone novel set in Hailey Turner's best-selling Soulbound Universe.

I'll honestly never get enough of Hailey Turner's books. I adored Spencer in the Soulbound series and couldn't wait for his story. When I found out his love interest would be Takoma I was beyond excited, and this book did not disappoint. The complex universe of the Soulbound series is just amazing and possibly the best Urban Fantasy I've ever read. Resurrection Reprise is full of action and plot twists and is very complex. It'll have you on the edge of your seat just itching to be there with them and help them fight the enemies. I loved Spencer and Tacoma together and don't even get me started on Fatima and the Cameos are to die for.
Plot: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
As always, masterpiece. There was never a dull moment, and I was glued to the pages and just couldn’t put it down. I always appreciate when the characters know what they want and fight for it together without any OTT drama. You'll see a different side of the universe as well, because while we knew Spencer’s affinity for certain kind of magic, we haven't seen it all in the Soulbound series and it was amazing.
Characters: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Characters have depth and real personality, and you have no other choice but to fall in love with them. They grow together while they learn about each other and eventually fall in love. My only complaint is that they only got one book and it just wasn't enough! I would happily ready a whole series with them.
Tension: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
As always, Hailey knows how to write action-filled stories and this wasn't any different. Heart pounding scenes where you just must walk around because you can't sit still and the sacrifices they make to achieve their destination are perfect. They never hesitate to fight for each other and help anyone they can.
Spice: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I really appreciate the intimacy here because when it happed, it was full of meaning and feelings and gives the story depth on itself. I was also pretty jealous of Spencer… ehm
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2023I LOVED this book so much! It's...everything I love about Soulbond but more. It's darker, sexier, and far more possessive. Takoma is HOT and his possession and want of Spencer is amazing. I loved watching these two circle each other. It was good, not only because of how hot it is, but because it's so different than what you get from Patrick and Jono. I love how Turner was able to make this book so different from the feel of the original, giving Spencer his own space to thrive in, while also bringing back a lot of our favorites from the series as well.
Spencer is a different type of wild card from Patrick and he makes dumb decisions with his non-brain, brain, that makes you facepalm, but he is also so very good at his job. His brand of magic is the type that governments would kill him for. It's been him and his psychopomp, Fantima, against the world since he was little.
Takoma is the master vampire over Washington. He hates everything about the government that breaks promises and hates everything they can't control or understand. Which of course makes him the perfect person to offer Spencer a way out. Takoma is dangerous, he protects what's his with ferocity, and he wants Spencer to be his.
What I loved about this book is everything. From the darker tone, to the magic, to Takoma and Spencer's fiery chemistry leaping off the page.
I really hope we get more from these two. There's so much more that could be explored here.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2023Resurrection Reprise is a spinoff from the Soulbound series. Set after the end of A Veiled & Hallowed Eve, this book follows Spencer, a soulbreaking mage on his new adventure along with his wonderful sidekick/partner Fatima. After the events that took place on Samhain, the world is forever changed. Spencer's professional life also takes a hit, and he ends up in a new position with the Supernatural Operations Agency.
When he's sent to Seattle on a recovery mission, he finds himself in the vicinity of Takoma, head vampire of the local Night Court, past ally and potential love interest. He's been drawn to Takoma since they met on Samhain and now that the war is over, he can finally see where this connection can go. But everything's not sunshine and rainbows, with nefarious covens, demons and a murderous poltergeist on the loose, these two have to face all sorts of evil beings before they get their shot at a happily-ever-after.
It was so fun going back to the Soulbound universe. After seven books with Patrick and Jono, it was nice to revisit familiar characters and see what the world is like in the aftermath of the big fight. Spencer has always been a really intriguing character, and as a friend of Patrick's, it's no surprise that he sows chaos anywhere he goes. I really enjoyed getting to see inside his head and his unique relationship with his psychopomp!
If I could dedicate an entire review to Fatima, I would. But I'm going to keep this short. She's so amazing. The sass, the obsession with food, the way she has Spencer wrapped around her finger- any time she made an appearance, I was obsessed with her every move. She's also a hardcore Takoma and Spencer fan, and I loved the way she tried to bring them together while also constantly teasing Spencer for his "bad taste."
Also on my favorites is Wade. He's grown up so much and though he's still got a ways to go, it's wonderful to see how far he's come over the years. I really hope we get the chance to see Wade get his own HEA, but until then I will satisfy myself with his appearance in this book!
The actual romance was pretty minimal in comparison to the other events in the book. But I adored every bit of it. I liked that once Takoma made up his mind, there was no question that Spencer would be his. My favorite thing about him was how he was always there to support Spencer and give him the tools to forge his own path. I also liked that once they decided to take a chance on each other, they were all in.
While this can be read as a standalone, you'd definitely enjoy this more if you've read the Soulbound series. As a fan of this world, I really enjoyed this book and hope we get more from it in the future!

4.0 out of 5 stars we're back!!
Happy to be back in the Soulbound world - and even happier to say that this book was much easier to digest when it came to the world building!
Maybe after reading all of Soulbound I just finally got it down, but this book just picked up it's own plot right away and kept you following along.
Spencer is a fantastic lead and POV character, and from his first appearance all I've ever wanted is more Takoma.
These two carry their own story beautifully, and I can't get enough of them together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!!
A wonderful return to the soul bound universe. I love that Spencer's going to get his happy ending. Can't wait to see what follows, and hoping more Wade comes into it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read. Full of excitement and a really, really nasty enemy.
5 Stars.
I’m so happy that Turner chose to revisit the Soulbound universe with this story.
This is another well written tale, this time about Spencer fighting the good fight with Takoma at his side. And the heated attraction between them is quite off the charts. The ending is explosive and eventually satisfying.
I loved the inclusion of Wade in the story (and who doesn’t love Wade?) and I’m so looking forward to the next book which will feature Wade. I can’t wait.

Ah, I was so happy with this book, but I need moooore. Spencer and Takoma are just bloody lovely together, and Fatima is the true star, of course.

5.0 out of 5 stars L'auteure aurait dû écrire plusieurs tomes
