As a twenty-three-year-old college student, Lena's living a normal life in Colorado—or as close to normal as possible given her unusual childhood. She keeps her sinister origins a secret—even from her best friend.

Then Lena spots a suspicious man with a black pulsing aura, and she can’t turn a blind eye. Knowing her adopted father—and especially her overprotective boyfriend—would not approve, she sets out to discover if this man is the serial attacker who’s been preying on campus women.

But her decision to confront the man takes a shocking turn when she discovers he wears a face from the past. And the fallout not only risks her life, but exposes her entire family to the danger they’ve tried so hard to put behind them.

While I enjoyed this book as much as the previous series, there were some errors in it which frustrated me. For example, it mentions Mica having good hearing in one paragraph but it is Jucinda that has the good hearing while Mica has the good eyesight. Several paragraphs later, it says it correctly. Anyone else who read the prior series is going to catch the error.

No surprise here, once again this series proves it's worth. Tons of excitement in this! All our favorites are still together. Flint and Lena live together while going to college. All of them FINALLY have some semblance of a normal life. Lena also has a best friend Grace, who sadly she has to keep in the dark. All is fine until a serial woman rapist appears on campus. Coincidentally at the same time Lena spots someone with a pitch black cloud surrounding them. No way it's not the same person. But one to let this type of thing go, Lena and her family are determined to catch this person. Imagine their horror when they find a familiar face. Read all about this exciting adventure...you won't regret it!!! I for one can't wait for the next book!!!

I absolutely loved The Lost Children books. When she decided to write more of their lives after they got free from Marcus, I was so excited! I am glad it started off with Lena. Guessing by the book cover for the pre-order, the next one will be Jacinda and/or Luke and I am anxiously awaiting it's release. I hope to continue to see more wonderful stories from this author.

Alright, I new Aaron would show back up at some point. I, however, hated that Lena kept thinking she was so invincible. She wanted to bait Aaron and catch him in the act so he would stop attacking ppl on campus. She could not seem to appreciate Flints over protectiveness, which she should have loved and embraced considering she barely escaped death in the last book. She never thought about the consequences of being knocked out and being killed while luring Aaron, and really barely escaped death again. Then she expected Flint to "understand" why she broke his trust and just to be ok with it. Nope, nope, nope. I just really didn't like this book b/c of that. I really wanted to see their relationship go to the Next level... marriage, babies, etc. and I got none of that. I was so disappointed.

While not to divulge anything to avoid any spoilers:

Good first book to a series .... the only downfall (for me, personally) was that, at times, it felt a little too "Twilight-y". Overall, though, the story was well written, the plot was engaging and believable, and the characters were enjoyable. It will be interesting to see/read the continuing story of the characters in this series.

In closing, I wish to state that I was given the ARC for this book from the author in exchange for an *honest* review. I also wish to thank the author for the opportunity to read such a contemporary and delightful book.

Why Amazon insist on 20 words for a review via kindle, I don't know. Especially when I just want to say that I really enjoyed this book.
