- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2015One thing that I really liked about this book is the fact that the author writes common sense responses to problem situations. A lot of authors will write characters who get themselves into trouble by doing stupid things, taking unnecessary risks, or withholding vital information. Other than concealing their true names, there was none of that kind of irritating behavior by any character in this story. So when the bad guys showed up, the hero informed everyone about the danger involved and everyone was on the lookout for trouble. The author has written other stories that follow this same pattern and I like it. There was one main love scene which was not too long (I hate long drawn out love scenes) and successive ones were not detailed but merely a footnote, if you will. I like that too because after the deed is done once, I don't want it repeated at length again, as some authors tend to do. I'm looking for good action, intrigue, and plot development. So all in all, this was a solid western romance and I highly recommend it.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2024I read it in one day….and awesome love story with lots of twists and turns, but she makes it easy to keep up with all the many characters. Love the way she winds all their lives together. First book by Bobbi Smith, certainly not the last.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2024Lane, a man who lost his family, leaves his ranch and becomes a Texas Ranger.
Destiny, a young woman who lost her parents, now her stepfather has cruel designs for her.
Wait until you read about all these two people go through separately and together.
A beautiful story you won't want to miss.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2010I'm not sure how I ended up picking this book but I'm glad I did. The story started with several seperate plots that Bobbi skillfully weaved together into an action packed story. She does an excellent job of making the reader feel connected with the characters, which I find lacking in other novels.
Lane is a Texas Ranger with a sad past who is forced to marry for his job (though he swore he would never marry again). Destiny woefully lost her father years before and recently, her mother. While still mourning she finds herself in a terrible situation in which she must marry a man with bad intentions or her evil stepfather. Her only choice is to take the place of a mail order bride with cold feet and flee to Texas to save her life.
I wish I could have given this 4 1/2 stars.

I love to read historical romance. How people lived back in then and to see just how much changed in our world. This is a great story that keeps you well entertained.
