Spring Strings Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,975 ratings

Malachi Booth is a supermodel. He’s used to moving about the world, sleeping with whoever takes his fancy and watching the money roll in. The last place he expects to find himself is on a run-down farm in Cornwall, but a bad bout of bronchitis means that he’s stuck there. The only compensation for this dismal state of affairs is that the farmer is very good looking, even if he’s the grumpiest person that Malachi has ever met.

Cadan Landry’s farm has been in his family for hundreds of years but that doesn’t make it any easier to make ends meet. As a consequence, Cadan could be called grumpy. Most men would consider a supermodel collapsing at their feet while dressed in the skimpiest pair of briefs ever made to be a sign of good fortune. Cadan just resents the fact that the young man is taking up space in his cow field.

These two men are from different worlds, but can they ever meet in the middle?

From bestselling author Lily Morton comes a novella about snarky models, misconceptions, and finding a home in the most unlikely of places.

This was super sweet and romantic. The characters were well developed, and funny and the classic Lily snark.

Can't wait till Joel does the audiobook, it will be fabulous.

The story was different, and it was lovely to be back in Cornwall and to hear or see glimpses of Silas and Jude and Asa. I had wondered if Mal would know Jude.

Mal is hilarious and the love he has to give but it afraid to is so sweet.

Cadan's heart is just shattered and hopeless and to see the two come together is wonderful. Stayed up all night reading.

My only issue is when Mal says he doesn't give his money to anyone, but he did earlier in the book to his mom. So that was a little odd.

I would have enjoyed seeing karma get Gerald and Cadan's ex BF. That would have been lovely.

The farm and Pip seemed so warm and welcoming I wish I could book a room to stay at the farm too.

It’s funny, the cover for Charlie sunshine never really fit him for me, but that person on that cover is exactly how I envisioned Mal. Two men from different worlds who thought they were destined to be alone, find love through snark and sass. I loved the banter. I absolutely loved the banter between the two and would love to just sit and listen to them both talk.
It was a short story so there isn’t much to speak on. But it was still a good one. Writing was good, snark was amazing and the few side characters were great.

    Delightful! 5 stars

Sweet and cute and also hot contemporary standalone MM Romance with a HEA. An enjoyable opposites attract story with delightful main character personas. Entertaining dialogue. Slowburn romance. Characters that discuss and enjoy spending time and doing things together getting to know each other slowly and finding each other as their missing pieces. What's not to love?

So very well done. I really loved the writing, story, characters. Simply 5 stars worth.

This a beautiful story about two opposite souls looking for love without knowing it. Cadan (stubborn farmer) with a grumpy demeanor and lack of faith for true love and Malachi (supermodel and super smart) with a cool and superficial upfront. Both finding their ways to love that includes partnership and understanding of what is needed to grow together is wonderful. Great supporting characters like Cadan’s mom and Maisy (Malachi’s agent) that just made their journey to find love so much more wonderful.
Another wonderful novel from Lily Morton. I recommend this novel and all others. A really amazing writer.
And of course I can’t forget the narration. Mr Joel Leslie. 5 stars as always. Thank you for making Malachi and Cadan so real. You can really see their love story unfold though his narration.

I'm discovering Ms Mortons books again. Love her style where we get to experience both main characters in her stories. Mal is a very well rounded person, funny and warm-hearted who is generous an loyal. Caden is strong and stoic but with a depth of love you can feel in everything he does for Mal. The sacrifice Mal is willing to make for Caden even after he breaks up with him is a sign of how much love Mal has for Caden and when Caden asks Mal to come back it made me so happy. I would have liked to see Mal's mom get cut off permanently from his life and purse srtings but she was not mentioned in the end which seems to be a proper end for her. Riveting and well written.

I liked the story very much; it was cute and romantic. It got me hooked from the beginning. The only thing I didn’t like as much, was that Mal and Caden’s personalities were kind of stereotypical to their jobs, and way of life. I also was and kind of still am, a little confuse about the situation with Mal and the farm towards the end. It just wasn’t clarified and left me with a lot of questions, and for those reasons I give it 4 stars instead of 5. but other than that, I truly enjoyed reading the book and most certainly would recommend it.

This was my third time reading Spring Strings, and I loved it just as I as the first two times. It's quintessential Lily Morton, with snark and humor and heat woven into a romantic story that reads like a trip to Cornwall.

Even though this is a novella, the story managed to pull me in and it was heartwarming, sweet, fun and wonderful overall. I just love Lily Morton's books so much! This one made me even shed a tear towards the end (Caden confessing his feelings...). I'm nearing the end of reading Lily's books and I'm so dreading that moment! Argh!

I loved the Finding Home series by this author, and absolutely loved this book too. She has such a way of writing snarky, vulnerable characters - it drew me in from the first page and had me reading this book in one sitting.

I loved Malachi and Caden. I loved that we got the alternating POV so could really get to know both of them, to see their fears, desires and witness them both falling in love. It was such a sweet and heart-warming read, but there wasn't any fluff - it was realistic and there was an edge to it given both their pasts.

It's a story you need to read and experience for yourself. I highly recommend it, and definitely want more from this author.
