Publisher's summary

Malachi Booth is a supermodel. He’s used to moving about the world, sleeping with whoever takes his fancy, and watching the money roll in. The last place he expects to find himself is on a run-down farm in Cornwall, but a bad bout of bronchitis means that he’s stuck there. The only compensation for this dismal state of affairs is that the farmer is very good looking, even if he’s the grumpiest person that Malachi has ever met.

Cadan Landry’s farm has been in his family for hundreds of years but that doesn’t make it any easier to make ends meet. As a consequence, Cadan could be called grumpy. Most men would consider a supermodel collapsing at their feet while dressed in the skimpiest pair of briefs ever made to be a sign of good fortune. Cadan just resents the fact that the young man is taking up space in his cow field.

These two men are from different worlds, but can they ever meet in the middle?

From best-selling author Lily Morton comes a novella about snarky models, misconceptions, and finding a home in the most unlikely of places.

Joel and Lily are perfection

I may be a bit unhappy with the track Lily has been on in recent books, but this novella goes back to why I adore her older stuff so much. And Joel is just the perfect storyteller.

A fantastic job on a wonderful story

Joel Leslie and Lily Morton is a match made in heaven! I can’t imagine another narrator giving voice and life to her fantastic words!

This story is sweet, funny, and wonderful. The crisis point was so heart wrenching I teared up even more with Joel’s performance than I did when I first read the book.

Fantastic performance!

Delicious Banter

Such a fun opposites attract story. Malachi is a bratty supermodel who falls ill on a shoot that n a farm in Cornwall. Cadan is a grumpy farmer who ends up reluctantly nursing him back to health. Neither man is too happy with the situation, yet neither seems to want it to end. Both have baggage, because…romance novel. But the author uses it sparingly to move the couple forward at a nice pace. Side characters were fun and helped with the plot. Joel Leslie’s narration is always amazing, and his British accent is perfectly done.

Love Mal!

This is a quick, sweet read that gives us a little bit more information about Caden and Mal who we met in the Mixed Messages series (Jude and Asa are mentioned in this book).

Mal and Caden’s story happens all because of Mal’s agent and thank God for her. She cut through all their crap and helped them see what they needed. They are very sweet together and I adored how Caden protected and stood up for Mal. Mal was finally able to be himself with Caden and on his farm.

Their happily ever after is as sweet as can be and I love how they make their very different lives work together.

Joel Leslie is brilliant as always!

Loved it!

This audiobook was just really cute.

I really really liked this story itself.
Even though I am not quite a fan of when one of the main characters is a model I loved Malachi. He was just so hilarious.
Cadan and Malachi were the perfect match.
I loved listening to their story. It was just very cute.

As for the audiobook, the narrator did a great job. I really liked his voice and how the acted out this book. It couldn’t have been more fitting.
I will definitely re-listen this one!

[I received a copy of this audiobook and this is my honest opinion]

Standing around in your pants isn’t work

This is my favorite Lily Morton book brought to life by Joel Leslie. It can't get any better that this!!!

The other day, in Lily's FB group, a question was asked about which of her couples was your favorite. My answer was Malachi and Cayden. I can't really explain why they are my favorite, they just are. But in all actuality all of Lily's couples are wonderful and that makes it difficult to pick just one.

This book touched something inside me and I'll never forget the story or the characters.

Lily's Audible books are always worth the credit... there isn't one story I won't listen to multiple times.

Thanks Lily and Joel for a few hours of pure enjoyment!

Lily Morton and Joel Leslie deliver

Spring Strings is the perfect example of a snarky, previously semi-peripheral MC who was kind of disliked but absolutely steals the show and melts your heart. Seriously, total and complete mush. Malachi may be my new favorite (fictional) character - certainly amongst my top favorite characters, right up there with Jude and Oz and…okay, okay I love ALL of Lily Morton’s characters. But I digress. Malachi and Cadan shouldn’t work but when it comes right down to it, they work perfectly because after you get past their snarky, battered outer layers, both have the gooey center like a perfectly made chocolate truffle. The image of an 18 year old Mal standing in front of his agent-to-be with shaking hands…well, gobsmacked. Cadan and Malachi deserve their HEA. Joel Leslie delivers and Lily Morton has done it again. Buy the book and the audio because you won’t want to put it down even when you’re supposed to, you’ll thank me later.

Much love for this snarky model and Cadan

I first experienced Mal in The Sunny Side which is Dean's story and wanted to know his background. This is how Mal and Cadan meet and it's everything I expected from Lily and Joel and more! I love Lily's quick witted characters who's sharp tongues protect a soft heart and while Mal's heart may not be the softest his bite does a good job of warning people away from his softer side. Cadan is his perfect match and able to keep up with him with incredibly smart and funny dialogue. Joel does an amazing job brining these men to life and I absolutely loved this one! It's a bit shorter than other of Lily's stories and perfect for those times when you need a quick listen and laugh! This story really melted my heart and I know I'll be re-listening to it often!

Absolutely, amazing, Lily Morton perfection!

Great banter, sharp tongues, and a great deal of love! Malachi and Cadan could not be more opposite if they tried to, and they both have walls so high to keep people out and protect themselves. Yet somehow they have what it takes to be perfect for the other. Another lovely story set in Cornwall, which, thanks to Ms. Morton, is becoming one of the first places in my future travels bucket list.
Lily Morton and Joel Leslie make a perfect pair!
