Stella of Akrotiri: Diana: An Ancient Greek Tale of Immortals Kindle Edition

3.9 out of 5 stars 45 ratings

Born an orphan, raised as a warrior princess, desired by men. Can an Immortal claim her heart?

The first adopted daughter of Stella and Darius, Diana has been raised as if she were one of the fabled Amazon princesses. Her mornings are spent training with Darius at the agōgē, her skills as a warrior matched only by a few of the Deminon army recruits. Her afternoons are spent with Stella as she learns the art of diplomacy and the importance of service to others.

Never does Diana wonder why her parents are so devoted to one another, or why they seem to speak of the past as if they lived in it.

The curious stares aimed in her direction by the agōgē’s doctor, Antony—even when she’s not in the circle of battle—has Diana on edge. Learning she has a much older adopted brother—one who seems to youthen as he ages—has her questioning her origins.

So the arrival of Augustus of Assyria seems fortuitous. Her father’s oldest friend is welcomed with open arms even as he is followed by a threat to the future of Deminon. With his intimate knowledge of her parents, perhaps he’ll have the answers Diana seeks. Or will the Roman senator’s revelation about her only complicate matters? For his attentions are far more intense than those of Antony—and far more arousing.

Diana is the adopted daughter of Immortals Stella and Darius. Augustus of Assyria, also an Immortal and Darius oldest friend comes to visit and senses that Diana is also an immortal.
The story was well written and I enjoyed the history and the intrigue. The characters were “alive” and worked well. I must warn you that there is a high amount of sex in the book and I felt it over took what could have been a more enjoyable book.

Oooo I love a good Ancient Greek tale. Makes me want to pull out my old book of Mythology tales. You'll love this book. Have fighting, adventure and a bit of romance... come on it was a Greek culture thing back then. The plot is great and from point a to b. There's a whole lot meat in this book that will keep you turning that paper.

Diana doesn't know what this strange feeling is when she's around her mother or father. Now she's noticed it around her older brother and a new handsome guest from Roman. That is her mother's friend. But trouble is brewing in paradise in the form of a small army. Will the plot they wish to succeed in, be done or will the people of Deminon rise up and push them back?

I did not realize this was part of a series, so I wish I had actually read the other books, now I love reading books with sexual scenes and romance and everything steamy but I also like to.have a good balance of action and adventure and just story to read. I love Greek mythology too, I had better Hope's from reading the excerpt.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review. I enjoyed the story and the authenticity to the time. The subtle differences in etiquette and normal interactions made it feel like going back to Ancient Greece. I was surprised by the amount of erotic scenes but again it tied in well with the story line and felt like a natural progression. Especially how sex was differently viewed back then and how those views and responses were more appropriate at the time. I did feel like too much of the story was spent with the king and queen instead of the princess. She doesn’t get a lot of time for much character development though the story does set up nicely for a sequel to do so. Overall I really enjoyed this book and the writing of this author, just don’t be surprised by the amount of erotica.

This book is quite the read. Coming in on the third installment of the book I found it easy to catch up on the events prior to Diana's story. Diana is quite a strong character with many depths and surprises to her that I loved throughout the book. Stella and Darius also quickly became favorites as well given the major support, love, and strength they give throughout the book as well. How does an immortal Love? for all eternity and with immense passion and heat. I enjoyed this book and look forward to hopefully some surprises with a few characters that I hope to get a story of their own someday given some subtle but smart hints in the book. I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. I thought the concept was interesting and I enjoyed the characters. My problem with the book was that it took awhile for the action to begin, the action was over in a flash, and then the end seemed to drag on and on.

Stella of Akrotiri: Diana: An Ancient Greek Tale of Immortals is an interesting read. I loved the first book and was excited to read this one. I love the time period and the setting of Deminon. The storyline of immortals that live among humans, take leadership roles, raise abandoned children, and live in peace (unless war comes knocking on their door) sounds like a wonderful place for Diana to grow up. I’m glad the author revisited the past so if a reader hadn’t read the first book they would be able to follow along. This book has a good pace, well developed characters, a well thought out storyline, and of course a happy ending.
