Tess and Amir continue to square off in an epic struggle to define their destinies. Aided by Jake, Tess’s friend and co-pilot Carmen and their colleagues, Tess must overcome Amir's vicious attacks motivated by his continuing obsession with her. They repeatedly clash in a succession of encounters taking place in Baghdad, Amman, Istanbul, Sorrento and New York. Tess's friend Carmen finally meets her soul mate in Nicola, who helps her overcome the traumas of her youth and becomes a valuable member of their team. The two women respond to their challenges by drawing on their skills as fierce warriors, battling Amir, who not only hurt Tess but plans to take over the Iraqi government. Their struggle leads to a series of violent and bloody battles in the air and on the ground. A heartbreaking loss at the end is redeemed by a final poignant resolution.

Andres Mann was an Army Officer and a business executive. He graduated with degrees in Political Science and International Relations and published three management books and various business articles.

The Tess adventure novels are based on real contemporary events and explore the challenges posed by international political developments and the issues that professional women face in today's world. The setting of the stories starts with the second Gulf War in Iraq and continues up to the current era.

Andy had the good fortune to meet remarkable people from all over the world, most of them good, others not so much. Some were extraordinarily talented, able to perform well in multiple endeavors. The novels are based on the actions of real people he observed dealing with challenging situations. He believes that it is interesting to understand multi-faceted personalities that are fascinating and sometimes evil, making it difficult to make quick judgments about right and wrong.

Action, intrigue, deceit, obsession, sensuality, the use of wealth to achieve one's goals, the struggle between good and evil are a constant theme.

    Amazing writing again by Andres Mann- this novel is one of the best I have read in a long time. Tess is the classic beauty who is a protagonist with antagonist attributes as well. Her, Jake, Amir and Carmen have complex personalities; though the novel depicts them explicitly as what side they represent, their personalities make them relatable to the audience as well.
    One of the best defining qualities of Mann's story is the historical content, which is well represented on both sides. The reader learns about the two Gulf Wars, the Iran-Iraq conflict and perspectives from both sides. What intrigued me about this novel was the intensity of honesty in the art of warfare. For many pieces, the depiction is not realistic or too dramatic. Mann was able to convey his scenes of being a prisoner of war, combative matches and other cultures with not only knowledge, but in a blunt, brutal matter.
    Tess Valkyrie Awakening also has many plots and twists, which includes Amir's and Tess' relationship, Amir's bizarre interactions with his sister and interpersonal communication between all of the characters. The sex is graphic, but also tasteful, as well with the violence in the book. It's not the attention grabber- simply put, the story line is well written and will grab one's attention alone. This piece has tragedy, comedy, drama, war scenes, history, sex, romance and enough character to bring the top story of the 2000s back to life.

    Filled with lots of action, romance, drama, politics and tasteful erotica, 'Tess - Valkyrie Awakening' will keep you awake until you finish reading it! The plot is fast paced, the characters - well developed, the storyline is captivating. Andres Mann did a great job - very well written book, which I would recommend to all the readers who enjoy adventure, war action and lots of passion!

    A great mix of action and romance, where nothing is forced or unnatural, and even the love triangle is tastefully done. I liked the main character’s transformation – she was a believable strong female lead, a bit tomboy at the start, and then more and more feminine as her feelings changed her. I don’t like hot-sexy-superwomen that for some reason have ended up in the army – that just doesn’t sound right. They should be bold and manlike and look like soldiers, not models. Tess is likable and smart, and what’s more, I could actually understand her feelings toward both men (while I’m not a fan of love triangles). They offered her different things, and in her situation, it seemed easy to lose control and get confused every now and then. Her motivations were clear and detailed enough for me to follow this complicated romantic subplot with interest + there was a lot of suspense involved that only made it better. The action scenes, too, were intense and fast-paced, and the colorful setting (all the cities that were involved in the storyline) had me reading with fascination.
    I will gladly join the other reviewers and say that it’s a recommended read for those who like action, adventure, and romance combined with a tight plot.

    Andres Mann has done it again! Another great writing from him. This book definitely ticks all boxes: romance, action, drama, politics, intelligence, and a little bit of erotica. Just like the name 'Awakening', you will be kept awake till you finish reading this book. The writer did a good job of developing great characters full of beauty and intelligence. The storyline is also captivating. The action scenes were just so great to read with lots of intensity in it. This book is definitely top notch and it's one of my recommended books to everyone that loves action packed novels.
