    I have read all the books to date by this relatively new author ; the plot lines are interesting, and I was impressed at how polished the presentation was from the very first book. She keeps improving with each book written. I will keep following this author.

    Get out your hankie for this one ladies for some of this book. I like the way the author tied i story line in with the real bridge accident in MN a few years back. Great character development and human issues.

    DNF: Fmc was too much of a pushover: The few chapters that I read was about her being railroaded by everyone: Not sure how she’s written as a supposed role model for Ava ;, but that chic didn’t have any self esteem and apologizes for everything when she wasn’t at fault ! The writing style was not my favorite either .

    Seth and Julianna will touch your hearts in this story. They have a brief history back when a one night stand took a different turn. As a result, Seth went back to marry the woman who became pregnant with his child but the marriage was anything but blissful. When an unforeseen accident took his wife's life, he moved from their home town to give his daughter a change and chance to heal. He never expected that move to put him back into the life of the one woman he had dreamed about for years. Will this be a second chance to have a happily ever after not only for him but his daughter as well?

    This whole story was basically a miscommunication between the two characters Seth and Juliana. Seth and Juliana has a past and after he left and married another woman and had a child with her and after this woman’s death Seth is back in town for his young daughter. All this time he has never forgotten Juliana.

    Juliana was heartbroken about this man. He was her one true love and to see him again almost hurts too much.

    Seth tried to do the right thing but hurt Juliana in the process. This story is filled with heartbreak and the road to forgiveness and a second chance.

    Juliana her main purpose was courage but what both her and Seth needed was courage to forgive, courage to communicate and courage to love and put themselves out there even if it could cause hurt.

    Reading this story this story pulled at all my emotions, this is a tearjerker that will pull at your heartstrings, but at the end it will piece your heart back together.

    The Courage It Takes was a new author for me. As has become a trend in new books lately, or so it seems, girl’s life is not going as she plans so she takes matters into her own hands to have a child on her own…and then meets Mr. Right.
    Our characters were well developed and even likable They did have a short bit of history but not too much. I would have liked to have seen an epilogue but not having one didn’t distract from the happily ever after.

    All it takes is a little bit of courage…at least that’s what Juliana Ferris needs to make a major change in her life that will put her on the road to happiness.

    Juliana’s made up her mind. She wants a baby, and she doesn’t need a man for that. Juliana finds the courage to visit a fertility clinic, as well as courage to answer to family and friends who question her decision. She’s finally pregnant, she has family and friends to love her, and she owns a prosperous little boutique to boot—Juliana’s living just the life she wanted.

    Until the one that got away comes back. Juliana loved Seth and lost him at a tender age when a girl’s heart is easily broken. Why on earth is he back in Krysset, and what in heaven’s name is she going to do about it? Absolutely nothing; she’s certainly not going to fall in love with him all over again.

    Seth McKellen has a new girl in his life, and she runs the show. Teenaged daughters have a way of doing that. He and his daughter need a fresh start to deal with a tragic loss, so starting over in a new town seems like the perfect idea. That is, until a chance meeting with Juliana rekindles a long-dimmed spark.

    Kate Carley has done it again with "The Courage It Takes"! This book is the first in her Courage of Krysset series and it is definitely a page turner. Carley's ability to capture the hearts of her readers and hold them tight throughout her novels makes her an author choice in which one will never be disappointed.

    Julianna Ferris runs a boutique in Krysset, Minnesota and has made the decision that she does not need a man in her life in order to have a baby. She visits a fertility clinic and starts the process; much to her family's surprise. Seth McKellen returns to Krysset with his teenage daughter after his wife has passed away. When his daughter wanders into Julianna's boutique, there is no turning back. Julianna and Seth fight the demons of the past and sometimes each other in search of an everlasting love. Will they find it or has too much time passed?

    Another great read by Kate Carley. I'm anxiously anticipating book two!
